Tracking Adwords users who sumbit a contact form after clicking through my Landing page.
-
I have a user, Jane, who comes to my landing page through an AdWords campaign. She click off my landing page, browses the website, then submits a contact form on one of the other pages on the site.
My problem is when I receive the email from the contact form, there is no identification that this user came through adwords. If she had submitted the contact form on my landing page this wouldn't be a problem, but she submitted the form from elsewhere on the site.
I know that I can see a NUMBER of how many goal conversions were achieved this way in Analytics. This is not what I want. I need something to identify it on the CONTACT FORM so that the intake staff in my office can credit that lead to the correct campaign.
Any idea on how to achieve this. Technically, I am using the latest version of Wordpress and the Contact Form 7 plug-in. I can change plug-ins if needed.

Hi McShane,
You can try www.myconversionbrain.com It does exactly that so that you can know which leads came from which
keyword, adgroup, campaign. It also tracks which display partner or remarketing site generated the
lead. Basically it tracks down all the source traffic (Google organic, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook,
referring links etc) for all the leads that you get automatically. It tracks which page the user submitted the inquiry and also the pages that he browsed before and after inquiry...Plus it helps managing your leads so you can see which keyword delivered the best ROI and which ones
waste your money. So you can see the status of the lead from the initial stage of the closing. You can also keep track of all your leads quicker and easier than email programs so that your leads are properly cared for and not being wasted. You can add sales people and much more...It also does other cool things like notifying you immediately once your leads come back to your website again or specific and important pages on your site (your choice).
If you want a free free demo (10-15 min) let me know and I would be happy to show you using
screenshare.Cheers

Hi! what about using cookies?
I mean, when an user reaches your site have a get php rule that appends a cookie to the user if their medium referral is cpc.
In your form you can add an hidden value which is cpc= 1 or 0. When the user send the form you can look for that cookie, if it exists set the cpc value to 1 if not 0. So you'll ahve a db stored information about if that user came or not via cpc.

This is a bit trickier working with Wordpress and a plugin.
If you have your Analytics linked, then Google will add ?gclid=XXXXXXXXX to your URL when someone clicks through. As a result, you can flag that session as an Adwords session. Normally I would add a session flag but Wordpress doesn't run sessions by default. You will have to add some PHP programming to make that work and that's outside the scope of this forum.

Show Unique User Goal Completions in Analytics Instead of Totals
Hello Everyone, Currently within Google Analytics, I have a mostly unfiltered view and several goals setup. One of my goals is tracking the download of an eBook (setup to track visits to the 'success' page of the download). At the moment (as I understand it), that tracks "TOTAL" goal completions. So, if the same user/person downloads the eBook twice, I will see 2 goal completions. What I'm trying to figure out is how to generate a report or view or something that tells me how many "unique" users have downloaded the eBook. Is this possible to do? And, can I do it using past data or do I have to setup a new filter that would only track unique users going forward? Thanks in advance.

If I have funnel with more options on same step. E.g. PDP (product detail page) --> "Sign in page A" or "Sign in page B" (customer can choose) --> "Thank you page" How can I track both options in same funnel? Because if I set funnel in analytics like: 1. step: PDP, 2. step: Sign in page A and step 3: Thank you page -->

Tracking homepage visits
Hi Mozzers, I run a website that has some buttons on the homepage. These URL's are not unique as they are accessible from the nav bar at the top of the page. I want to see the conversion rate of the homepage buttons. Is this possible? I currently use Crazy Egg to see how many people are clicking on the buttons but I want more information as I'm sure whether they are converting. Thanks, Karl

SaaS Landing Page Copy
Hi We have a SaaS online invoicing software website. We want to optimize our landing page for conversion. Everything we read about conversion says Big H1 Copy, short, precise and catchy. 3 bullet points and thats it. Very very little copy. Question is is this bad for our SEO. Will google rank our home\landing page if we do not have lots of natural keyword copy? SEO and CRO are conflicting here aren't they? Thanks

Adwords Conversion Optimiser
OK Mozers! Here's the situation (my parents went away on a weeks vacation...) • I am managing an online furniture retail website Infurn .com • Our budget is 500 euro per day and we need basically 20% cost per sale and im hovering at 30 - 35% • I recently was given the opportunity to participate in The Conversion Optimiser which allows you to set a desired CPA and Google works its magic geting you that target by adjusting your bids accordingly using historical campaign data. • Is this something I should use? Or should I continue to hone my ad groups, bids, products, landing pages, and ad copy until I reach my 15 - 20% CPA goal? Thanks!

Optimizing meta descriptions for click through
Hey guys! I'm curious if anyone knows of any research or has any experience with using the word "buy" vs "shop for" as a call to action in meta descriptions, and what has better click through rates? A quick search of Google trends shows that they're both pretty close in terms of search, but im curious as to the psycological reaction that people have to those terms and what one they respond to better. I look forward to your response. Thanks!
