How to get images to rank higher, with some new tips?
-
Hello,
Can anybody give any other advice for image optimization except keyword use in file name and alt tag, which would effect the item to be ranking higher on google images, I have searched google on this, but did not find any reallyuseful tips other than those mentioned above...
Should I mention my main keywords that I try to rank in as many image files and different pages as possible, but without stuffing and relevant to the content?
Thanks a lot

Hello Oksana,
The context matters. So if the page Title, textual body Content and Images or other media are all about the same topic you should be fine. Additionally, you may want to make sure that the keyword for which you want the image to rank is on the page, preferably in the paragraph next to the image, and perhaps repeated in the image caption. This should help, when not overdone.
Other things might be whether anyone else is linking to that image file, or the page/s on which the image is used, including the domain/page authority from the linking site, as well as the text used in the link. Social shares like Pins and Tweets may help.
If you're using a content delivery network (CDN) to host the images there's an additional set of issues to think about.

Thanks, do you mean by quality anything specific?
My pics are very appealing to the audience (since I have most elegant designs on the market, most likely) and I am wondering is there any specific things I can do?

The quality of your image and its appeal to people are the most powerful optimization elements.

Newbie... tips for where to start?
Hi! I have been attempting to make my business website good for quite some time (5+ years). I was doing my own SEO and do have 1st page ranks... but toward the bottom. I pay a lot for Google Adwords and would like better organic ranking. I hired an SEO and haven't seen much improvement. I think I need to take it back over. I am very overwhelmed. Can anyone point me to where to start? I don't have a large budget, so hiring an expensive SEO is out of the question. Plus, I am scared to use someone that may do more harm than good in attempt to use sleezy techniques to get good short-term rankings. I'd like to add that I have read Google's webmaster guide and have done every.single.thing recommended. I have a facebook page, blog, google+ page, twitter, pinterest, instagram, and linkedin account. I use sprout social to post to all of these at once. I have competitors that don't pay attention to SEO and have never hired one that outrank me. I have keyword focused pages, and I have looked at keywords as a percentage of over all text. I have all my headers setup according to moz. Its been 6 months and I have actually lost a little rank.. not gained.

Video Rankings and Optimization Issues
I have noticed for some pages of the site I am working on that I see the video that is posted on that page ranking a lot higher than the page itself or the page does not rank at all, just the video. I'm curious to know if these two can technically be competing for rankings and if Google sees that the page does not need to rank because it chooses to put the related video into the SERPs. Also, has anyone seen any differences in the way videos rank based on where it's hosted (youtube, wistia, etc)? I would think this is common sense not to but still unsure, is it bad practice to keep videos hosted on multiple sites (currently I am adding videos on a new host, but have not deleted the old ones on Youtube yet)?

How much link juice do SVG images pass?
I have been experimenting with SVG images for SEO in the last 7 months. I can definitely get pages indexed using embedded links within SVG images but have not had much success measuring link juice. Have you tried anything along similar lines? How much link juice does an SVG image pass?
