I am trying to get my content in the Google Knowledge graph. Everything I've read thus far about Knowledge Graph tells us how to get in for branded terms (e.g. company name or your own name). But I am looking for ways to have my content be indexed and shown in Google graph.

For example, if you search for "mayonnaise for hair" you will see Knowledge graph show us a snippet from an article on RealSimple.com. **How do you get your content to show here? **

I've been reading a lot about SameAs markup, but it seems to only help for branded terms, so companies can have a knowledge box for their brand. But does it help for non-branded keywords?

      I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Thank you, Everett! I didn't know that Answers box and Knowledge Graph are two different things. I'll take a look at the blog post you linked to.

          Hello Texture Media Inc,

It's tough to keep up on what the various parts of different SERPs are these days. They're constantly expanding and changing. The only person I know who can keep up is Dr. Pete, and that's just barely. 😉

I think what you're wanting to do is get content in the Answers Box, as opposed to the Knowledge Graph. This should answer your questions: http://cognitiveseo.com/blog/6121/total-serp-domination-using-the-new-google-answer-box-technique/

SameAs should be used for connecting various pages about the entity, including social but also Wikipedia pages and other official "About" pages. It's a good idea to use this tag, but isn't going to help with what you're trying to do, specifically.

Thank you for your response, Martijn. I was thinking the same thing. Everything I've read thus far about SameAs speaks to connecting bios and social profiles.

SameAs markup probably won't be enough as for now it's really meant to be used for identifying social network accounts for a specific Web site. What I would also look into is marking up your actual content via Schema.org because Google probably will need the data for it's knowledge graph in some structured way at least.

                  Hi there

I think it can help indirectly. Especially as Google associates your brand and website to particular topics (if you are optimizing properly and writing great content). If you are killing it from a topic association level, I can see having "SameAs" markup possibly benefiting your brand on a non-branded level as those topics are associated with your site and Google (and other search engines) notice those SameAs connections to your other platforms or areas, and possibly return your site or other channels in non-branded search.

That's my take. Excited to see what everyone else says - great question! Good luck!

How does educational organization schema interact with Google's knowledge graph?

Hi there! I was just wondering if the granular options of the Organization schema, like Educational Organization (http://schema.org/EducationalOrganization) and CollegeOrUniversity (http://schema.org/CollegeOrUniversity) schema work the same when it comes to pulling data into the knowledge graph. I've typically always used the Organization schema for customers but was wondering if there are any drawbacks for going deep into the hierarchy of schema. Cheers 😄

Can you index a Google doc?

We have updated and added completely new content to our state pages. Our old state content is sitting in a our Google drive. Can I make these public to get them indexed and provide a link back to our state pages? In theory it sounds like a great link building strategy... TIA!

How to maximize CTR from Google image search?

I'm getting good, solid growth in my Google SERPs and Google search traffic now, but I do notice that 70% of my high ranking search results are images and the CTR on those is only 3-4%. All my images are illustrative and highly relevant to my travel blog, but I guess that hardly matters unless they get CTR so people see them in context. Has anyone seen or done any good research on what makes people click through on Google Image Search results? What are the key factors? How do you optimize for click-through? Is it better to watermark your images or overlay label them to increase likelihood of click-through? Thanks, Tony FYI the travel blog in question is www.asiantraveltips.com and a relevant Google search where I rank highly is "songkran 2016 phuket".

"Null" appearing as top keyword in "Content Keywords" under Google index in Google Search Console

Hi, "Null" is appearing as top keyword in Google search console > Google Index > Content Keywords for our site http://goo.gl/cKaQ4K . We do not use "null" as keyword on site. We are not able to find why Google is treating "null" as a keyword for our site. Is anyone facing such issue. Thanks & Regards

Will Google View Using Google Translate As Duplicate?

If I have a page in English, which exist on 100 other websites, we have a case where my website has duplicate content. What if I use Google Translate to translate the page from English to Japanese, as the only website doing this translation will my page get credit for producing original content? Or, will Google view my page as duplicate content, because Google can tell it is translated from an original English page, which runs on 100+ different websites, since Google Translate is Google's own software?

Our login pages are being indexed by Google - How do you remove them?

Each of our login pages show up under different subdomains of our website. Currently these are accessible by Google which is a huge competitive advantage for our competitors looking for our client list. We've done a few things to try to rectify the problem: -  No index/archive to each login page Robot.txt to all subdomains to block search engines gone into webmaster tools and added the subdomain of one of our bigger clients then requested to remove it from Google (This would be great to do for every subdomain but we have a LOT of clients and it would require tons of backend work to make this happen.) Other than the last option, is there something we can do that will remove subdomains from being viewed from search engines? We know the robots.txt are working since the message on search results say: "A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more." But we'd like the whole link to disappear.. Any suggestions?

Site Indexed by Google but not Bing or Yahoo

Hi, I have a site that is indexed (and ranking very well) in Google, but when I do a "site:www.domain.com" search in Bing and Yahoo it is not showing up.  The team that purchased the domain a while back has no idea if it was indexed by Bing or Yahoo at the time of purchase.  Just wondering if there is anything that might be preventing it from being indexed?  Also, Im going to submit an index request, are there any other things I can do to get it picked up?
