Hi fokes, question; which url structure is best for local rankings. For example: when I want to rank on the keyword: "Plumber Londen". And I dont have plumber in my brand. What is the best url structure:

Nice answer Jane. This probably answered many questions (that I had in my mind before reading your answer) related to the best URL I can have for my website. Cheers!

Hi there,
This somewhat depends on the structure of the website. These are the options, using the structural idea you have put forward:
The first would be a good structure if you have a parent "plumbing" page, which links to a range of locations in which you have plumbing services listed: London, Manchester, Bristol, etc. Each location would have its subfolder after /plumber/
The second example would work if you do not have a London page or a Plumbing page, but just a page about plumbers in London. This is true for the fourth example too.
The third example would work best if the parent page is a page all about services across London, them you have a page about plumbers coming off that page.
You should be able to rank any of these structures, but I would say this relates more to the hierarchy of the website than it does anything else.

Local Business Schema Image requirement
Hello, I work exclusively with Dentists and we have been putting our json schema in the footer for a while now. Just recently they made 'image' a requirement for the Dentist category. We already use the logo in our schema and that is an image. Since the schema is in the footer, it is on every page, and the only image on every page is the logo. Does the image we add to our schema need to be on the actual web page or could it be anything related to the business, like an image of the practice or the dentist? Would it hurt to have the logo listed twice in the schema - once as the logo and once as the image? Trying to figure out what the best thing to do is for the required 'image' field for a dentist. Thanks! Angela

Does having an embedded Google Map still count as a positive SEO signal?
I know this was true a few years ago, however is there still an advantage to having an embedded map vs. a pop up map in 2017?

Local SEO + Best Practice for locations
Hi All, Based on a hypothetical scenario, lets say you are a plumber. You live and operate within Chelsea in London. You have established a Google places profile and incorporated schema data to tell Google your fixed place location. In addition you operate in several nearby towns with no fixed location presence. i.e Brentford, Bromley, Catford, Cheswick and Tottenham. I create a feature rich page on 'How to find a quality plumber'. Within the page I incorporate the following description: blah blah, as a quality plumber serving the community of Chelsea, we also offer our services to nearby towns of Brentford, Bromley, Catford, Cheswick and Tottenham. I create hyperlinks for the towns (Brentford, Bromley, Catford, Cheswick and Tottenham) that allow the user see in details a full list of services, operation hours, etc. Naturally all towns will have there own unique content (no duplication). Is the above scenario the correct way to provide local seo or is this approach considered spammy to Google? Thanks Mark0
