Homepageurl/homepageurl

Hello All,
In Google analytic & moz reports our homepage is being tracked as www.example.co.uk/www.example.co.uk.
Have checked every where this url does not exist, very confused and worried where this url is coming from.
when i accessed this url from address bar it lands on 404
but still in google analytic and moz i can see traffic coming on this url .
i spoke with google analytic support they informed me its the home page of the site.
To what i know , home page should show as /
Any help highly appreciated.

Thank you Martijn
I checked the settings in Google analytic and Default page in admin setting was set to the home page. This was optional. and the tool tip said.
"Enter the default page for your domain so that multiple URLs that point to the same page are treated as the same entry in your reports. For example, if example.com and example.com/index.html both open the same page, you can enter index.html in this field."
After unchecking this field the homepage is showing as /
Thank you for your answer.
Cheers
Sohail

I personally think this is a problem from the CMS end, if you are using CMS like Zencart or Joomla, this usually happens. Also, there is a possibility that some internal linking within the website is using this kind of URL by mistake and that is why crawlers are picking this up.
Check both possibilities and I hope one of them should resolve your problem.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for your responses.
Please find below a img url of screeshot of my analytic console. The highlighted one at the bottom is the home page, before it was displaying as just with a forward slash /
now it is got /domainname.co.uk
hope this gives you clear picture to wht i mean

Hi,
I am a little unsure exactly what is being asked here.
"www.example.co.uk/www.example.co.uk" certainly is not the URL of your homepage, it doesn't follow basic url structure.
Could you provide a screenshot to the screens that are making you think this URL is being tracked? Im guessing its just some confusion and its actually tracking "www.example.co.uk" and the /www.example.co.uk bit is just the way in which it is displaying it to you for some reason. Hard to know without knowing where you seeing it.

It could be that a filter is applied to add the hostname to the pages in the content reports in Google Analytics. Can you check these in your Google Analytics account?

Event/Goal Tracking For EKM Powershop
Hi There, I have a client with EKM powershop. I am trying to figure out a way to either setup goal tracking (however I don't know what the final destination page is) or event tracking. I know I can do the ecommerce tag thing, but I am always worried about breaking the tracking code. Any ideas?

Direct / (none) Spam Traffic Help
In July 2015, we experienced an over 1,000% increase in traffic and it has remained like that ever since. It's all spam traffic and I have no clue how to get rid of it. I added in your typical .htaccess blocks from known culprits with little to no effect. Read up on Ghost traffic and applied filters to no effect. The spam is completely distributed as far as I can tell both geographically as well as by network providers. Where once we had pretty decent bounce rates of around 50%, now, since all my Analytics data is meaningless - it's around 90%. I could apply a filter but beyond my GA account providing no insights, I'm also concerned about the increased use of server resources. I'd ideally like to stop the traffic completely. The only distinguishing feature of the traffic that I have been able to determine is browser size. Comparing June 2015 to July 2015 we saw the following: Browser size visits: 620 x 460 = 6,828 vs 0, 610 x 450 = 175 vs 0, 1330 x 630 = 71 vs 1, 1890 x 940 = 67 vs 0, 780 x 580 = 58 v 5. Other than that, I can find no unifying theme to the traffic beyond being traffic hitting our homepage and having no medium. Nothing special that I am aware of happened in July. We didn't do any sort of...really anything. We did have our network compromised by ransomware in the beginning of June, which we promptly ignored and restored backups - at no point did we try to contact the criminals, but I am doubtful there is any connection considering that our website is remotely hosted. If anyone has any suggestions or has seen anything like this before, please let me know. spam-traffic.jpg

Google Analytics Goal/Event/SOMETHING to show only Wordpress "Posts", not pages, etc
Hi all, Our site is build on Wordpress and formerly the post URL's had the typical date format at the beginning. This made it easy for me to look at, for example, all search traffic to the blog. I would just view URL's containing /2014/ and /2015/ and boom. We have since removed the dates from the URL's with proper redirects etc, which is great, but now I can't figure out a way to look at ONLY the blog in GA. I like to track a KPI of 'search visits to blog posts' and I can't figure out how to now. Can I set up a GA event that only fires when the post type template for blog posts loads? Some other solution? I'm lost here, and there's gotta be a good way to do it...

Google Analytics Content Experiments don't deliver 50/50?
Our A/B test is actually delivering at about a 70/30 page view rate. 70% in favor of the original version and only 30% of the new. We are sending 100% of our traffic to this homepage test. Has anyone else experienced this? There seems to be a lot of folks experiencing this.....anyone know why?

How do I find backlinks and/or SERPs for a subdomain
I realize this is probably a very basic question but if I want to find backlinks to a sub-domain of my site, how would I do that? Also, if I wanted to see what search terms were bringing traffic to one specific page of my site, how would I do that?

Google Analytics/ Contact 7 Plugin
I have a site that uses the contact 7 plugin for its contact form sitewide in a sidebar and on a contact us page. I've set up a goal in analytics and tracked using the "on_sent_ok" hook but the number of goals GA is creating is far outweighing the number of times the form is actually completed. I figured my initial mistake was to use the contact-us page as the page tracker variable for the goal but wondered if it was counting all form completions AND anyone who went to the contact page. So I amended it to a contact-us/thank-you page that no site visitor could navigate to, and since I have no goals completed, even though we're getting enquiries through the form. Am I being dumb here and missing something quite simple?
