If I insert a "stop" word into a long tail keyword, will it break it up?

I'm in the legal industry, and a lot of the long tail keywords I'm finding are search queries that are pinpointed for my location. As a result, I come up with [subject] + [location] as good keywords... for example: "subpoena duces tecum new york." (basically it's a subpoena, just the fancy name). However, I have no clue how to use something like this in a sentence....if I say "subpoena duces tecum IN new york" does the "in" break up the keyword, or is "in" just a stop word that doesn't affect the keyword?
Countless examples of similar keywords "Car accident new york" etc.

As Russ states, you're far better off to just use language naturally. Google will figure it out. Stop words aren't going to prevent you from outranking the competition. A combination of other factors will, most notably the quantity and quality of incoming links to the page.

IMO "stop words" are a hoax.

Luckily with the Google Hummingbird update, Google is better able to map together phrases with identical search intent. "Car Accident New York" and "Car Accident in New York" return very similar search results, and you will see this across the board for very slightly modified long tail phrases. I would use the words and phrases in a syntactically and grammatically correct fashion, rather than focus on getting every variant.

Yes, the word "in" would separate the keyword, though you technically would still get a reasonable amount of worth from the phrase in general. Some longtail keywords are incredibly difficult to get into content - it may be worthwhile to try to find ones that are high-volume and less abstract.

Minor languages keyword research
Hello, I am in charge of doing a keyword research for several small countries in Europe, namely Hungary, Estonia and Latvia.

I normally use the Keyword planner for Google Ads, but for Hungarian, Estonian and Latvian this tools seems to find no results for the keywords related to my websites. For example, in Hungarian the keyword "ajak toltoanyagok" ("lip fillers" in English) doesn't give any results (and yes, I am targeting my searches to Hungary and Hungarian). I have the same problems with Latvian and Estonian. Is there another tool that I could use and that could give me better results? Help! Cheers Luca rONwtZt0 -
Is it a bad idea to hyphenate keywords?
Hello, my understanding was that Google reads hyphens in keywords as spaces, but if that's accurate how come keywords with hyphens that I research with Keyword Explorer — for instance, hospital-acquired infections — rank lower when I include the hyphen? If the hyphen hurts SEO, do I have to remove them all from the blog or page in question? Removing hyphens means a blog or page will have punctuation errors, which is irritating to an editor, but I don't want to sacrifice the effectiveness of keywords, either. Google: Is There a Way to Find Your "Unknown Search Terms"
I believe Google stopped reporting search terms for privacy reasons. All my searches show as "unknown". I found a video that showed how to get around this but it's not current. Is there any way to get your Google terms search information? Thanks, Jo-Ann

SEO for compound word derivatives
Our company offers services for nonprofit organizations and we are finding that "non profit" and "nonprofit" are both used very frequently in search queries. I suspect Google will treat the two variations similarly but am looking for something more concrete than my anecdotal experience. How does Google treat compound words that are commonly searched for as multiple words? Any suggestions on resources or tests to find a concrete answer for "nonprofit"?

Keywords for multi service business?
