Each page with a different meta description?
-
each page on my website represents a different department, can I program the header to show a different meta description on each page or should there only be 1 meta description tag per domain?
-
Yes - each page CAN have different meta description with different text. This isn't prohibited.
This is REQUIRED!
https://moz.com/learn/seo/meta-description
Also you can go in Google SearchConsole:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/html-suggestions?hl=en
and see do you have "Duplicate meta descriptions" and link to them. -
thanks for your responses but it is not really answering my questions so I will rephrase it:
this is my website www.nynjmovers.com
I have a "local_movers.php" page and a "long_distance_movers.php" page as well as a "storage.php" page.
can I have 3 different meta description tags (one on each page) with different texts or is it prohibited?
if I have 15 pages , can I use 15 different description tags (one on each page) - all under the same domain?
I hope that the question is more clear now
-
Always remember to do attractive messages, learn from the best CTR results you have for do interesting dinamic descriptions.
-
"Avoid Duplicate Meta Description Tags
As with title tags, it is important that meta descriptions on each page be unique. One way to combat duplicate meta descriptions is to create a dynamic and programmatic way to make unique meta descriptions for automated pages."
https://moz.com/learn/seo/meta-descriptionSo you should create different meta descriptions for all pages.

How to overcome blog page 1, 2, 3, etc having no or duplicate meta info?
As the above what is the best way to overcome having the same meta info on your blog pages (not blog posts) So if you have 25 blog posts per page once you exceed this number you then move onto a second blog page, then when you get to 50 you then move onto a 3rd blog page etc etc So if you have thousands f blog pages what is the best method to deal with this rather than having to write 100s of different meta titkes & descriptions? Cheers

ECommerce Product Meta Descriptions vs. Product Descriptions
Wondering if using on-page product descriptions as the individual product meta descriptions is a best practice for an eCommerce site? Instead of writing two product descriptions (one regular and one meta), I am thinking if the product copy is SEO rich, we'd be good to use just the one for both purposes. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Seems that many companies follow this practice. Thanks!
