-

I moved from www.bastabollette.it to bastabollette.it, setting a 301 redirect.
If I check google search console, I still get impressions and looks like all old www pages are stille indexed. (see attached)
why? how can I fix this?
thank you

Bene!
I just crawl your site and i found that almost everywhere links are correct. PM me in private to sent you links that are http://www. or https://www.
BUT - the problem is that there isn't redirect 301 for the PDFs... Example: https://www.bastabollette.it/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/MODULO-DISDETTA-CONTRATTO-CON-NOTE1.pdf should redirect to https://bastabollette.it/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/MODULO-DISDETTA-CONTRATTO-CON-NOTE1.pdf but redirect won't happen and www return "200 OK". This is serious bug and affect all PDFs. Situation is even worse because this is also for CSS and JSs: https://www.bastabollette.it/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/css/jetpack.css?ver=3.8.1 or https://www.bastabollette.it/cdn-cgi/scripts/zepto.min.js Yeah... could be worse? YES! Images too https://www.bastabollette.it/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/logo2.png or https://www.bastabollette.it/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Cattura-002.jpg
So why this is important? You was need to make unconditional sitewide 301 redirect to www to non-www. Your redirect is partial and seems that affect only html files. If you're in Apache just need to do this in .htaccess.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.(.)$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.)$ http://%1/$1 [R=301,L]If you're on other servers - LiteSpeed, nginx or IIS just contact me and i will provide commands for them.

hey Peter!
sto molto bene grazie!
grazie moltissime for your answer.
-
yes I already set preferred domain in SearchConsole
-
I did not set canonical pages to new domain BUT i 301 redirected all traffic for www to non-www. isn't that enough?
-
yes I changed wordpress so that default is now non-www
-
I am gradually changing all the links to the internal pages as well as all assets to non-www (but it's huge since I am doing manually.
Anyway since I 'told' google that my site is now non-www (submitting new site maps, setting up 301s and the configurations above) I really can't understand why google still indexes the old non-www.
Any hint?
Thank you again

Ciao Giorgio! Come stai?
Did you use set preferred domain in SearchConsole? https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/44231?hl=en
You also need to set canonical pages to new domain (non-www). And also change in WordPress that default is now non-www. And change link to all pages (internal) from www to non-www. And after this you need to change link to all assets (JS/CSS/Imgs/PDFs/etc) to non-www.I bet that your move was partial because some of point above isn't make correct.

Longterm wordpress blog not providing seo benefit to main site - help needed please
Hi I have a bigcommerce ecommerce store, with a Wordpress blog on a subdomain. The store and blog have been active for four years, the blog is regularly updated with original content, has many links to the store, is promoted regularly via my brand's social media channels and mailing list, and has the simplest SEO basics covered via a Yoast SEO plugin. But the store sees very little, if any, SEO benefit from the blog. My question is: based on this information, and the details below, is there an issue with the connection between the blog and main site in SEO terms? And if there is, how can I start fixing it? Further info: 1 In my Moz dashboard for the store site, the blog does not show at all as providing any inbound links or linking domains 2 Google Analytics also shows zero referral traffic to the store site from the blog since April 2015 3 Moz crawl issues is flagging ‘duplicate page content issues’ for pretty much every page of the blog, and the analysis provided suggests this may be related to tags but I have only basic SEO knowledge and am fast getting out of my depth here. 4 I have today altered the settings within the Yoast plugin on the blog to ‘noindex’ for Tags, Meta Robots, based on advice I have found in this section but am already well over my head and unsure even this is correct. An agency have been running SEO for the store since 2012 but since uncovering how little they have done in this time for the money paid, I am now taking matters back into my own hands. However I am on a very steep learning curve and this one is beyond me right now - please does anyone have any suggestions where I can start looking to uncover the root issue? Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks very much and hope to hear from someone!

Google Analytics Question - Impressions & Queries Up, Sessions Down
I'm working with a client who, according to the Google Query report, impressions and sessions are up since we've started work with them about 6 months ago, but Google sessions are down. In moz, we're seeing a gradual, but steady increase in search visibility specifically with Google. Note: this is all organic. From when we started tracking queries, the first month we were tracking there were 43,581 impressions and 690 click throughs for the month. This past month there were 98,293 queries and 1015 clicks throughs for the month (granted not year over year data) - of these 1,015 clicks, 995 of them were from web. However, for those same time periods, sessions from Google are down over 30% - 1,750 vs. 1,189. I'm not sure how to interpret this. I realize that clicks and sessions are not a straightforward comparison, but I would think that if clicks were up according to the query report that sessions would also be up. Is it that some of these clicks are bouncing and therefore not being tracked as a session? Is there a potential issue with how data is being tracked?

.com site referral traffic to ccTLDs
We have 7 international domains set up along with our main .com site. All of the ccTLds are showing their main referral traffic as coming from the .com site in GA, and most of those being from mobile. Each site is set up correctly with geo-targeting and hreflang tags. Has anyone experienced this before?

Homepage on page 2 for site:domain
Hi all, today I noticed that our homepage is located on page 2 if you do the site:domain query. As far as I know, the site:domain results mirror the importance in the eyes of Google. Some time ago, our homepage was the first result. I have to say that we do not often have changing elements or new content on the homepage, it is more like a static page. But still the most linked to page on the domain... What conclusion can I come to? Is our homepage of lower importance to Google than some time ago? Is it a problem for SEO? As we backed down our advertisments, the traffic from branded keywords fell the last months - could this be an explanation? And, most important: do I have to worry? (Besides, the SEO-traffic is fine and growing..)

Impression Drops Starting from June 2
In Webmaster Tools and the Linked Data in GA, we got huge bumps for some of our keywords this last week and subsequently were dropped from the face of the earth for other words were were tracking but not SEOing for. Basically for anything higher than 3rd page SERP, 30+ we were removed from Google search and we're no longer showing rankings for any of these words. Is this a new change as part of Penguin? I wonder b/c a lot of those words that were in the 60-100 in SERP were, as I mentioned, not focus SEO words but the backlinks were probably specific keywords, as we only have say 6 links and 4 are the same anchor text, this would put those words in the 60% over optimization penalty.

Any thoughts on why Nextag and MonsterMarketPlace are linking to our site?
I'm looking in WMT at the crawl errors and I noticed that our website has gotten a lot of Not Found crawl errors that seem strange. A lot of these not found pages are Display URLs that I use in PPC advertising, but not actual redirects (i.e. explorica.com/EducationalTrips). When I looked at how these links were being found, the inbound links were coming from Nextag.com and monstermarketplace.com, two sites that our company has never had a relationship with. We're an educational travel company, so we'd have no reason to. When I followed the links, it looks like it's coming from their "Sponsored Links," but these aren't Google or Bing Ads. We don't even advertise on the content network. Example link: http://www.monstermarketplace.com/starters-and-alternators/alternator-motorola-style-12v-51a-10376 (the ads do rotate so my site might not appear when you check it out). Anyone ever had experience with this type of issue?

How do you set www vs non-www in Bing Webmaster Tools?
A site of mine is showing as example.com instead of www.example.com in Bing and Yahoo. I know where to set the preferred domain to www in Google Webmaster Tools, but I can't seem to find that function in Bing Webmaster Tools. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
