Help! Website has lost all DA since being 301'd
-
Hi,
We have redirected a small WP website to a new site and domain and it has lost all DA and PA. Does anyone know if there's a fix for this? Would reverting back to the old domain help?
We redirect www.northcornwallgardens.co.uk to cornishlawns.co.uk
Thank you
James

Hi
Thanks so much for this Patrick.
I'm new to SEO but I understand some of what you've gone through. With G Analytics do I have to set things up again or can I change the domain? I guess its the same quesiton for Webmaster tools.
I thought the designer had set everything up but obviously he just added 301s.
Thanks,
James

Hi there
What Trevor said is correct but I want to point out a couple of other things real quick.
Make sure you set up proper URL mapping when you migrate your site, so that Google and other search engines know "This old page should now go to this new page" (redirects). Let Google and Bing know that your site moved in Search Console and Webmaster, respectively. Make sure you conduct a proper backlink audit as well so you can update valuable links and remove risky ones. Also, if local SEO is important to you, make sure all of your business listings and citations (including social profiles) have correct domain / contact information listed. Companies forget to do this all of the time and it's easy to overlook!
And lastly, run through a technical audit of your website and make sure that all of your bases are covered there as well.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for info and replying so soon!!

All new domains start with a new DA and PA. You will need to wait for the content to be recognised by google again. Reverting back to the old domain would help, and google isn't awfully keen on 301's, but if you want to establish a new brand then you will maybe have to just stick with it. Start buliding some links to your new domain. That will give it a decent leg up and will help google to recognise your new domain quicker.

How is this possible? A 200 response and 'nothing' to be seen? Need help!
On checking this website http://dogtraining.org.uk/ I get a 200 response. But an Oops! Google Chrome could not find dogtraining.org.uk . Same with Firefox (Server not found). Obviously there is a problem - I just don't know where to 'start' investigating to spot the error. Can someone help me? Thank you!

Moving articles to new site, can't 301 redirect because of panda
I have a site that is high quality, but was hit by penguin and perhaps panda. I want to remove some of the articles from my old site and put them on my new site. I know I can't 301 redirect them because I will be passing on the bad google vibes. So instead, I was thinking of redirecting the old articles to a page on the old site which explains that the article is moved over to the new site. I assume that's okay? I'm wondering how long I should wait between the time I take them down from the old site to the time I repost them on the new site. Do I need to wait for Google to de-index them in order to not be considered duplicate content/syndication? We'll probably reword them a bit, too - we really want to avoid panda. Thanks!

301 redirectmatch
I think I'm starting to loss my mind. I have worked with regex before with very little problems how with my redirects nothing appears to be working. A little guidance is needed! The Low down I have a site with Joomla CMS backend. The site is undergoing and SEO overhaul I was simple hoping to use a 301 redirect o these old pages that are now a causing 404's The addresses /index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=53_blank /shop/product.php?id_product=11 I have tried the following redirects but no avail RedirectMatch 301 ^/shop/product.php?id_product=11$ http://www.nomitang.com/index.php/en/vm_getaway_w this does not work at all if I remove the ?.....ending then I can simply redirect the product page but this is not what we need. Why does RedirectMatch not register anything after the "?"? I also tried this RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=53_blank [NC]

After entire site is noindex'd, how long to recover?
A programmers 'accidentally' put "name="robots" content="noindex" />" into every single page of one of my sites (articles, landing pages, home page etc). This happened on Monday, and we just noticed today. Ugh... We've fixed the issue; how long will it take to get reindexed? Will we instantly retain our same positions for keywords? Any tips?

I just found something weird I can't explain, so maybe you guys can help me out.
I just found something weird I can't explain, so maybe you guys can help me out. In Google http://www.google.nl/#hl=nl&q=internet. The number 3 result is a big telecom provider in the Netherland called Ziggo. The ranking URL is https://www.ziggo.nl/producten/internet/. However if you click on it you'll be directed to https://www.ziggo.nl/#producten/internet/ HttpFox in FF however is not showing any redirects. Just a 200 status code. The URL https://www.ziggo.nl/#producten/internet/ contains a hash, so the canonical URL should be https://www.ziggo.nl/. I can understand that. But why is Google showing the title and description of https://www.ziggo.nl/producten/internet/, when the canonical URL clearly is https://www.ziggo.nl/? Can anyone confirm my guess that Google is using the bulk SEO value (link juice/authority) of the homepage at https://www.ziggo.nl/ because of the hash, but it's using the relevant content of https://www.ziggo.nl/producten/internet/ resulting in a top position for the keyword "internet".

If I redirect my WordPress blog to my main site, will it help my main site's SEO?
I have separate sites for my blog and main website. I'd like to link them in a way that enables the blog to boost my main site's SEO. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks in advance for any advice...
