Keyword Ranking
-
I would like to understand how to search for all instances where Johansens is on the 1st page of Google (US/UK) for any keywords that have Portugal, Lisbon or Algarve in them i.e. "luxury hotels portugal".
Is there an easy/automated way to do such a search?
Many thanks for your support,
Doug

Hi Jordan,
I've used TrafficTravis, even paid the pro version. Let me add some items to your comment.
- When searching for more than 10 kw, is recommended to buy private proxies. TT makes all searches by your IP, and pretty son in the day google will block yoor IP. And you'll have to wait some time.
- It has the option to search for competition and competitors in the selected keywords, linking a adwords account.
- It's practical, when using it for a long time, that makes graphics for the SERPs evolution.
Instead of using trafficTravis. I do recommend (when just tracking serps) using Moz, or some private trackers, like serpbook.com or proranktracker.com).

Like Gaston said there are quite a few tools that regularly crawl the SERP's and return rankings periodically. I recently came across a free tool called Traffic Travis that is pretty accurate and will let you set up campaigns and upload keywords you want to track and provide ranking data in Bing, Google and even Yahoo I believe. Going a step further you can specifiy which Country you want to track rankings in and even conduct some keyword research within the tool as well.

Hope this helps some let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Charlotte,
There are some tools that crawl the SERPs periodicaly. Them miight be useful in your case:
There are, of course many more, those two are the ones that I use. They have a freemium period, try them out!
Hope it helps.
GR.

New Keyword Planning Tool
In the past we have used google analytics keyword tool to evaluate a keyword for our campaign. Recently though with the changes to the keyword tool becoming the keyword planning tool we've seen an extreme fluctuation in the metrics provided for avg monthly searches. Specifically the keyword "best fries" used to be reported at 33100 avg global monthly searches, now with the new tool its at less than 200 overall for the month. Additional information has the google trends for the keyword to only be increasing and is roughly near peak search interest. So I guess to simplify the question, should I trust this metric? Is there an alternative source I can use for keyword research? Why would a drop like this happen? Why isn't the google trends data similar to that of the keyword data? Surely 100 representing peak interest doesn't translate to 200 searches a month.

Branded vs Generic keywords - is Google treating their rank equaly!?
Several times I have noticed that website receiving sort of a rankings drop penalty for certain wrongly built on-page strategies that involves keyword stuffing, wrong keyword density(too much) etc. The question is - how you guys think - is branded keywords receiving the same treatment from Google then generic ones? And here is why - for one popular brand I see that they ranking for their brand keyword very high(1th) but keyword density is awful - more then 10%. So, my guess is - if this keyword density you would apply for generic keyword you will end up nowhere to be found for it! Is that could be truth? Any experiments info about that? thanks and regards, Jungles

How to improve keyword rank
Hello, I have made some changes to my site within the last 1 1/2 months and have not seen my keyword ranking improve whatsoever; however, my page rank has gone up. I have made all the changes that my campaign suggested, and yet there is still no change to my keyword rank. Please advise me on what I'm doing incorrectly or what I should change. Thank you

Different pages with same keyword phrase.
I have my home page and an interior page targeting the same keyword phrase. Is this ok or would they be competing with each other?

Should I use Phrase Keywords when doing Keyword Research?
Hi all, I've spent the past couple of days doing some extensive keyword research in Adwords Traffic Estimator, looking for keywords to optimise my pages. I've been searching using EXACT so I get a realistic value but I'm wondering if PHRASE is better suited for research after all its more likely someone will visit my site via a phrase match than exact? What are your thoughts on this?
