Why our competitor has bigger DA?
-
I just compare our website www.simpletranslation.com with one of our competitor www.straker.com.au and their DA is much better than ours even we have more external backlinks. Can somebody explain me why?
We worked really hard on new content on our blog and did few guest posts and instead of see some results on increasing of our DA our DA went down in last 2 months and I have no idea why.

If they won't take them down, you can use the link disavow tool in Search Console. Since DA is a Moz generated metric, you might not see a change, but Google will stop 'counting' those links to your site.

Is there anyway how to remove them when we don't have access to login and administrator of these websites don't answer. We didn't do these links.

Hi,
It's important to remember that your link profile isn't about quantity, it's about quality. 10,000 junk links are less valuable than 10 high quality links.
I took a quick look at your link profile in OSE, and it looks like you have some questionable sites pointing to yours. For example, the one from this domain: http://organisedlinks.com, even the domain of that site screams "link farm!". And that same domain is also part of a network, I can see multiple links to your site with the first part of the URI being "/business/business-services/", which is not a great indicator of link quality when that appears on multiple linking domains. Most of your links are from domains that all appear to being aggregating links/data from the same place.
Get rid of those links, acquire some relevant links from industry related sites and you should see your DA tick back up.

How do we find keyword opportunities - but not just against 3 competitors...
Hello everyone! How can I find out what might be a keyword opportunity against a competitor but make sure it's still a realistic opportunity in SERPS generally?* After all, we are not just competing with 2 or 3 competitors. We are competing against everyone! Perhaps there is a part of the keyword research process that helps? I can't help but think there's a wasted effort to just beat a couple of competitors unless you can rank well generally - especially if it's a competitive sector. (*I'm not in the position of making lots of pages as part of a long-tail keyword/ content strategy so I need to focus on just a few and make them count) Thanks in advance. Mp

Ahrefs Much Higher Than Competitors But Competitors Doing Significantly More Traffic?
Hey guys, I'm baffled by checking my Ahrefs ratings lately. It looks like our rating just went up considerably... from over 1 million to now around 500k. One of my main competitors, however, has a much lower Ahrefs rank (over 3 million) but he does a considerable more amount of traffic than we do... how is this? My domain rating is higher than his by a lot. Very curious how this works.

How much should I analyze my competitors?
Hi, Recently I've started a competitor research (aka competitive analysis). A few hours after I began, I've started to feel that maybe I'm doing too much unnecessary work. What I've been doing so far is analyzing the competitor's links (using the Dr Pete's Link Profiling excel and some other things), and their site optimization. The on-site optimization analysis has been very light, just to see if the competitors are doing something really well, or not. But still, I think that maybe I'm doing too much work. So, I'd like to see your thoughs: How much work is necessary when doing competitor analysis? What things do you analyse? And how much do you report to the clients? Thank you all in advance! Ivan

How to combat competitor buying who is buying links and winning.
I have a competitor who is buying links in the Featured Advertiser Links section of Washington Post online. His backlink profile is a very low # of referring domains. (38ish) with a good bit being repeats of Wahington Post. My question, is their strategy within Google guidelines, and what can I do to combat it? Thanks.

Competitor's Ranking's Reports are Showing Blank Values for Rankings
When selecting competitors to see how they rank for specific terms in the ranking's report page here, it loads the page normally, but without any actual rankings. Where values should be, it lists all values as our competition not ranking whatsoever (for all competitors). I'm not sure if there is something we're doing wrong, or perhaps we just need to wait for a refresh, but if anybody could help out, that would be wonderful!

Determining why an established competitor's rankings have bombed - What's the best way to go about it?
I arrived at work this morning to find my weekly SEOmoz ranking report for a main competitor waiting in my inbox. 90% of the their rankings have tanked in the last day or so by an average of 3 pages - most down from page 1 or 2 where they had been sitting pretty for ages. I'm not in a state of (total) euphoria about this because a) you should be humble enough not to gloat at your enemy's demise, and b) I need to find out what they did wrong so that I don't make the same mistake, too. **What is your first suggested port of call to determine where my (vanquished) foe has gone wrong? How much can I find out? ** I do know one thing - with OSE I can see they've used dodgy blogging services but this, to my mind, would have been jumped upon by Google last year. No? Thanks guys
