Page Speed Insights for www and non www sites
-
I'm testing a client site for speed and I'm getting different results when I test www and non www. What's causing this from the same site?
- Non www scored 37/100 for mobile, very concerning
- www scored 54/100 for mobile, still problems but not as severe
Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Would you be willing to share the domain?
Does the site render the same in the preview? My first thought is that you may potentially be rendering two different pages.... When I check this on other sites, I'm not seeing a difference even though a redirect is in place.. (something I thought they would flag).

Try the speed test again. Speed tests don't usually show the same results every time. Every other time I test my site it reads 89/100 and then when i retest i get 94/100. This can all depend on how quickly the server responds at the time.
Furthermore, there is clearly a lot of work to do before you can even begin to worry about these results

Will pushing a visitor to a conversion page hosted on a 3rd-party domain hurt the landing page ranking
Had an interesting question from a client. The client has a page that is optimized for a specific term. The goal of the page is to push users to sign-up for a trial. The trial registration (conversion) page is hosted by a third-party. Will pushing users to the conversion page cannibalize the SEO authority of the landing page. My reflexive answer is to say no, but now am not so sure.

Home page and category page target same keyword
Hi there, Several of our websites have a common problem - our main target keyword for the homepage is also the name of a product category we have within the website. There are seemingly two solutions to this problem, both of which not ideal: Do not target the keyword with the homepage. However, the homepage has the most authority and is our best shot at getting ranked for the main keyword. Reword and "de-optimise" the category page, so it doesn't target the keyword. This doesn't work well from UX point of view as the category needs to describe what it is and enable visitors to navigate to it. Anybody else gone through a similar conundrum? How did you end up going about it? Thanks Julian

"Issue: Duplicate Page Content " in Crawl Diagnostics - but these pages are noindex
Saw an issue back in 2011 about this and I'm experiencing the same issue. http://moz.com/community/q/issue-duplicate-page-content-in-crawl-diagnostics-but-these-pages-are-noindex We have pages that are meta-tagged as no-everything for bots but are being reported as duplicate. Any suggestions on how to exclude them from the Moz bot?

Third party pages
Suppose you are using a third party tool such as an affiliate program. Typically, all the files are organized under one subdirectory. In addition, you may have little or no ability to modify any of the files in terms of SEO. Would you recommend hiding the entire subdirectory with a noindex? Best,

Non www. page still ranking highest
Hi I didnt quite know what I was doing in start when I started linkbuilding. Links were spread btw epleskrinet.no and www.epleskrinet.no . A couple of the strongest links were to the non www. version. So that one was ranking highest atm. I got it redirected 2 weeks ago. All links that are added know goes to www.version still the non www. is ranking highest. Should i worry about this or will simply the otherone overcome it in time ?
