How do i raise my product pages authority - ecommerce
-
hi, just started here and going through my website to make sure everything is fine and relevant to the search terms i am aiming for.
However i notice a lot of my pages have an authority of 1 which clearly isnt acceptable! how do i best go to modify this so the authority is risen?

I would not spend one moment checking the authority of my pages.
Not one moment.
Instead, spend that time getting generous product descriptions on those pages and create great images to display the product. All of those words will pull traffic from search on long tail queries. They will show google that you have a substantive site. They will inform the customer about your product and help make a buying decision. The images will help sell the product and reduce the number of product questions that you receive.
Creating a great site with great content is what produces results. Page authority produces nothing. It is possible to develop huge page authority but be completely ineffective at the goals of your website.
Create pages and sites that serve your intended visitors.

Hi there, I just made a crawl of the website of one of my clients with the crawl tool from moz. I have 2900 403 errors and there is only 140 pages on the website. I will give an exemple of what the crawl error gives me. | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | http://www.mysite.com/en/www.mysite.com/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/en/index.html#?lang=en | | | | | | | | | | There are 2900 pages like this. URL Structure On Site - Currently it's domain/product-name NOT domain/category/product name is this bad?
I have a eCommerce site and the site structure is domain/product-name rather than domain/product-category/product-name Do you think this will have a negative impact SEO Wise? I have seen that some of my individual product pages do get better rankings than my categories.

What to do with temporary empty pages?
I have a website listing real estate in different areas that are for sale. In small villages, towns, and areas, sometimes there is nothing for sale and therefore the page is completely empty with no content except a and some footer text. I have thousand of landing pages for different areas. For example "Apartments in Tibro" or "Houses in Ljusdahl" and Moz Pro gives me some warnings for "Duplicate Content" on the empty ones (I think it does so because the pages are so empty that they are quite similar). I guess Google could also think bad of my site if I have hundreds or thousands of empty pages even if my total amount of pages are 100,000. So, what to do with these pages for these small cities, towns and villages where there is not always houses for sale? Should I remove them completely? Should I make a 404 when no houses for sale and a 200 OK when there is? Please note that I have totally 100,000+ pages and this is only about 5% of all my pages.

Why would my page authority be staying low whilst my domain authority is increasing?
The authority of my key pages is staying resolutely at 1 even as I've improved my domain authority from 16 to 25 over the last month

Ecommerce and Secure Checkout
We made changes several months ago trying to become compliant with Google Trusted Stores. This change effects our secure checkout. Here is an example website:www.froggysfog.com once you go to checkout:

https://www-froggysfog-com.app-hosted.com/c=gbY1kT9hZx1OJrCN07bHz3tTy/s=www.froggysfog.com/checkout.cgis
Once you have gone to checkout all the links are changed:
https://www-froggysfog-com.app-hosted.com/category/10-fluid.10-fog/ I know I can remove the session ID in webmaster tools, but I'm not sure what else I should be doing to ensure that these links are not indexed. We have the robot.txt set up to not index anything in checkout or that is on secure: http://www.froggysfog.com/robots.txt However, due to the entire url change when on secure. I'm wonder if I need to set up in webmaster tools to exclude any url with app-hosted.com or if there is a better option. thank you0 -
Changed URLs from Upper to Lower Case, and lost page authority should we switch back?
During an overhaul of our site architecture we switched from having capitals in our urls to all lower case, we did the 301's but the page authority is not nearly what it was should we switch back? (new) http://www.usleaseoption.com/rent-to-own/florida vs (old) http://www.usleaseoption.com/rent-to-own/Florida/

Ranking above PLACE PAGES
What does it take for results to show up above Place Page results. It seems like Google Local gets a lot of emphasis . Any thoughts?

Nofollow and ecommerce cart/checkout pages
Hi!! Another noob question: Should I be nofollowing my site's cart and checkout pages? Or as SEs can't get to the checkout pages without either logging in or completing the form is it something I shouldn't worry about? Have read things saying both. Not sure which is correct. Thank you! Appreciate the help. Lynn
