4 shared locations - 1 phone number - legacy GMB - HELP!!!
-
I have a friend who is a dietician and has the following issue with his business
- He works in 4 different locations across town- Each location is shared with other practitioners. - he uses the same phone number for each location (free 0800 UK number)- he has legacy google places profiles for some locations with some reviews he'd like to keep and other locations he'd like to delete. He'd like to be present on page 1 of google for terms like dietician in "name of location he works in"I am clearly concerned about his NAP profile since he only has 1 phone number for all locations. The address of each location can clash with other practitioners working there who have already registered a GMB profile using the same addresses although there might be the possibility of using something like "suite x" to differentiate his business in the address. Can anybody advice on how they would approach this one please. Thanks

Hi Neil,
Unfortunately, if your client chooses to create 4 different listings with 1 phone number, he will be at risk for merging and possible ranking failures. If this were my client, I would not recommend that he do this. Honestly, if the client is only working 1 day a week at a facility, eligibility for inclusion in GMB sounds a bit iffy. I recommend that you contact Google directly to get their say-so on this, but a business that is only open 1 day a week could draw some scrutiny from Google.

Thanks for your answer Miriam, good job you're around.
i am not sure i was clear enough around the phone number issue. Basically he has his own phone number which he uses to take appointments for all his locations. He works 1 day a week in each location and the phone number is used to manage all the appointments. i believe this must be fairly standard for any independant worker based in several locations . Surely google can't expect anyone running a business of similar nature to have 4 phones Or 4 phone numbers?

Hi Neil!
In a nutshell:
-
1 GMB listing per physical, staffed location
-
A unique phone number for each location
-
If there are practitioners, they should each have their own phone number, too, if you want to create GMB listings. Preferably they should each have their own landing page on the website as well, linked to from the GMB listing.
-
Do not add fictitious suite numbers. Use real-world addresses. Google can typically sort through shared locations, but be extra vigilant in actively monitoring such listings, particularly if they share categories.
Any other arrangement will cause problems. Hope this helps!

GMB listing not showing for local searches
Hi all, I've optimised an existing GMB listing that has been in place for over a year. The client is a yacht/boat broker and marine repair outfit based in Mallorca. When I search for terms that they 'should' be ranking for on Google and on a Maps search, they are nowhere to be found, yet their listing does show when you type in their company name. I've read lots of Local SEO guides and followed their advice but I'm not sure what I'm meant to do next?

Google My Business - two businesses, same location
I have client that has developed a new brand targeting a specific segment of their wider market - the more price sensitive customer. They have launched a website for this brand, which specialises in promoting special offers. Both operations have the same physical address and the new brand - that targets this niche, I believe has been set up as a service-area business on Google My Business. I think they should change this as they do publish their address on their website and do on occasion welcome customers on their premises. My question - at last! - is that can both businesses exist on Google Maps - with the same business address and is this the right way to proceed if I want to target directory listings for the new brand. Any thoughts welcomed! thanks.

VPS, shared or dedicated hosting?
Hello, I would love it if anyone could advise whether to use VPS, shared or dedicated hosting to host 50 WordPress sites and around 50 other one page flat HTML sites ... with everything being served via CloudFlare. Of course my main concerns are page load times, security etc. I know it's a big question, but I would be very appreciative of the thoughts people have, and any recommendations. Kind regards,

Different Search Results Depending On Location
Hello all, I was talking to a client earlier this week and they were telling me that they were not ranking fora desired keyword term. When I, however, ran a Google search for the keyword term in question, the client's website was showing a ranking on my end. We are both located in California. I'm in Southern California and they're in Northern California, but I don't think that should make a significant difference should it? Anyway, I've never run into such a quandary before and am curious to know if any of you out there can help me better understand why we're receiving different search results. Any and all insights are welcomed and appreciated.

Google Places Multiple Phone Numbers
Hi Guys, Looking for a advice on having multiple phone numbers. We have dealers who have both a sales phone number and service phone number for the same address. Is it possible to specify this in Google Places so both numbers are displayed in the SERP GP listing as shown below link? Link - http://tinyurl.com/mto86ts Or is it possible to even add multiple numbers on the actual GP local page ? http://tinyurl.com/n7r9w3d Any advice on this? Seems to be from my initial research, the only way to two numbers is via the description. Thanks,
