How should I rename my product titles
-
On my furniture e-commerce website, most of my product pages have a name of a colour that no user would naturally search for, such as:
- Duck Egg Chesterfield Sofa
- Kingfisher Velvet Queen Anne Armchair
If I switched all the product names to simplified names such as Blue Linen Chesterfield Sofa there would be a lot of duplicate page titles, as there are many different shades of Blue linen chesterfield sofa's on my website.
I am therefore thinking that I should change the name of each of my products to something like:
- Duck Egg Blue Linen Chesterfield Sofa
- Kingfisher Blue Velvet Queen Anne Armchair
I would then be able to rank for terms such as "Blue Chesterfield Sofa" and "Blue Velvet Queen Anne Armchair".
My question is, will I have a better chance of ranking if the keyword I'm targeting comes at the start of the page title? for example
- Blue Linen Chesterfield Sofa, Duck Egg
- Blue Velvet Queen Anne Armchair, Kingfisher
-
In general, the closer a word is the the start of the title tag, the more weight it will have for SEO.
Beyond that, I think the "Blue Linen Chesterfield Sofa, Duck Egg" format reads better, so I'd go with that approach.
Hope this helps,
Ira

Title Tags for Medical Names
Hi Everyone! I just transitioned into SEO in the medical spectrum and have never come across such long names. In terms of recommendations for character counts in title tags, what would be the recommendation? Write until it gets truncated (which is current state)? Use the abbreviation? Try to ensure the "plain language" words appear towards the front? Any viewpoints would be appreciated!

SEO'd Title Tag for Product Pricing Page with Little to No SV for Product Pricing Related Terminology
Hello, What should one do about a title tag for product pricing page (of a SaaS company)? The only keywords/phrases that have SV are "Acme Pricing" "Acme Product Pricing" and "Acme Solutions Pricing", but obviously I don't want to use all three since "Acme" and "Pricing" repeat in all three. Should the title tag just be "Acme Pricing"? In past experiences, a title tag that short typically gets changed by Google in SERPs. Should one not optimize the title tag at all? Any thoughts, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Google changes my title in search results randomly, any idea why?
hi all, i recently noticed google changing the title tag of one of my pages in search results for certain keywords... I've done a bit of a search and see its not uncommon, however from what i can tell they usually change the title if it is too long, or they seem to change the branding location etc... In my case they are litterally adding key words to it... Example - See Image 1 - This is my main keyword - the title displays correctly See Image 2 - Another keyword - see how google has added "irrelevant" keywords to the title Any ideas why this happens? fr0PIK7.jpg sv6zWOu.jpg

Title Tag & Ranking Improvement....
Hi I have a dilema that I could do with some help with please. I am working on a site and its home page is ranking on the second page of google position 2 (12) for a term such as [Portrait Photographer London] The title tag I am using for this homepage is "Portrait Photographer | Clients Brand Name" ( which does NOT include the word "photography / photographer") The reason why I used this term for the home page is eventually I would like to rank in the top 3 (I'm ambitious) for [Portrait Photographer] so I left out the location on the home page as I have an about us page where I have the title tag "Portrait Photographer London | Clients Brand Name" this is currently ranking on page 3 position 3 (33) for a term such as [London Portrait Photographer] I'm wondering if including the location would help move my client up any? So it would be: "Portrait Photographer London | Clients Brand Name" and the keyword I want move up for is [Portrait Photographer London] Hope this makes sense
