How do you fix soft 404 errors?

I'm getting soft 404 errors for a gallery on my site: http://chrle.us/MBKs

yet when I visit the url: http://www.chrisboar.com/html/galleries/114/portfolio/weddings-1/0

the image/url is there. Not sure how to fix this.

note we do redirect the site to the flash site and only use those URLs for SEO purposes. Maybe that is what is causing it.

The error says: "redirecting users to another page such as the homepage instead of a 404."

I don't see the image, I do see a page but it "immediately redirects" me - as per the soft 404 error message.

I get sent back to:

http://www.chrisboar.com

Errors In Search Console

Hi All, I am hoping someone might be able to help with this. Last week one of my sites dropped from mid first day to bottom of page 1. We had not been link building as such and it only seems to of affected a single search term and the ranking page (which happens to be the home page). When I was going through everything I went to search console and in crawl errors there are 2 errors that showed up as detected 3 days before the drop. These are: wp-admin/admin-ajax.php showing as response code 400 and also xmlrpc.php showing as response code 405 robots.txt is as follows: user-agent: * disallow: /wp-admin/ allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php Any help with what is wrong here and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. Quest about 404 Errors

About two months ago, we deleted some unnecessary pages on our website that were no longer relevant. However, MOZ is still saying that these deleted pages are returning 404 errors when a crawl test is done. The page is no longer there, at least that I can see. What is the best solution for this? I have a page that similar to the older page, so is it a good choice to just redirect the bad page to my good page? If so, what's the best way to do this. I found some useful information searching but none of it truly pertained to me. I went around my site to make sure there were no old links that directed traffic to the non existent page, and there are none.

Wordpress 404 Errors

Hi Guys, One of my clients is scratching his head after a site migration. He has moved to wordpress and now GWT is creating weird and wonderful strange 404 errors. For example http://www.allsee-tech.com/digital-signage-blog/category/clients.html There are loads like the above which seem to be made up out of his blog and navigation http://www.allsee-tech.com/clients.html works! Any ideas? Is it a rogue plugin? How do we fix? Kind Regards Neil

Noticed a lot of duplicate content errors...

how do I fix duplicate content errors on categories and tags? I am trying to get rid of all the duplicate content and I'm really not sure how to. Any suggestions, advice and/or help on this would be greatly appreciated. I did add the canonical url through the SEO Yoast plugin, but I am still seeing errors. I did this on over 200 pages. Webmaster tools...URL Errors

Hi mozzers, Quick question. Whats the best thing to do about URL errors in webmaster tools. They are all 404s that point from external sites. Many of them are junk spam sites. Should I mark them as "fixed" or just leave them. I'm hoping google is aware it's out of my control if spam sites want to link to 404s on my site. Peter

How to fix duplicate page content error?

SEOmoz's Crawl Diagnostics is complaining about a duplicate page error. The example of links that has duplicate page content error are http://www.equipnet.com/misc-spare-motors-and-pumps_listid_348855 http://www.equipnet.com/misc-spare-motors-and-pumps_listid_348852 These are not duplicate pages. There are some values that are different on both pages like listing # , equipnet tag # , price. I am not sure how do highlight the different things the two page has like the "Equipment Tag # and listing #". Do they resolve if i use some style attribute to highlight such values on page? Please help me with this as i am not really sure why seo is thinking that both pages have same content. Thanks !!!

How to proceed on this 404 situation

Hi folks, I have a website (www.mysite.com) where I can't host a 404 page inside the subdomain www because a CMS issue. In order to provide a 404 page, I can create a subdomain like “404.mysite.com” that returns 404 and then if I find that a page does not exist I can redirect it to 404.mysite.com. My question is: should I redirect as 301 or 302? Does it have any difference?
