Ecommerce promotion: How many blog posts per week minimum for fast launch
-
Hello,
We're trying to jumpstart our new Ecommerce site with a blog. We just launched and have 4 thorough blog posts which I'm working to refine to 10X content. Trying to make all content 10X. As you know, it's not easy.
Our niche has little to no content written by competitors. We are hoping to get to about $5000/month sales with this site.
How many blog posts should we launch a week (10X content) in order to take advantage of boosting our results in the rankings as fast as possible. Does it usually take 6 months?
I know the more the better, but consider we only have so many resources, so I'm trying to decide if one 10X piece a week is enough, or 2 or 3.
Thanks.

Some good stuff! I am wondering about the other SEO factors you recommended...
Backup info:
Since there are very few informational keywords I am just writing (yes unique! good point!) very helpful high quality articles on topics that people need help with. Then refining them to 10X when there is competition.
We let our customer service team provide most of the meat of the articles, then rewrite them for quality, visuals, etc. They are very experienced The only cost is our time.
I've made a list. We can probably squeeze out 20 unique topics
Question:
What can I do besides just post topics and post them (for free) on Facebook? I thought I needed to focus on 10X content and just earn links. Please explain what you guys mean by other SEO factors.
And any more feedback you have based on my refined information.
Thanks.

Hi,
As with most things in SEO, the answer depends. It depends on how many UNIQUE topics you can generate and how long you're willing to spread those out over. Unique being the keyword there.Don't just go out and write X amount of posts per week because someone recommended it or your read it somewhere - that's going to lead to crap or topically-identical content just so you can fulfill a quota.
Make a list of topics for posts, as many as you can that are unique and worth having their own URL. If you start to get too many posts that are basically the same, Google won't rank either as they'll view it as a spam tactic. Once you have that list, prioritize it in terms of average search volume for the keywords you've associated with each post. Then start with 1 or 2 posts per week. If you see good results from that, consider ramping it up. If you're not seeing good results, step back and shift your strategy.
As Andy said, there's no right answer to this question, but there are smart ways to plan your approach. Just remember to keep your posts unique (yes, I am saying that a lot, because it's important!), the best way to rank is to show Google something new that they haven't seen before.
Happy blogging!

yes your question is not clear
According to your Question "How many blog posts should we launch a week" it should be 4-5 per week and also you should schedule your post in order to promote it effectively.
As andy said, "Also the content alone won't help you rank" but also you should consider many SEO factor to boos up your ranking.

Your asking the million dollar question.
There is no right / wrong answer for the number of pieces, if you say there is no real competition you might get away with the 1 piece a week.
In terms of rankings, this shouldn't take as 6 months, I've usually found a few weeks to get indexed and ranked.
What you need to do is work out how much the content is going to cost to produce - if its going to cost you $2k to get $5k worth of sales is it worth it. Also if its costing you $2k then you probably worth only creating 1 a month as the maths wouldn't justify it. (costing you more than what it generates in sales).
Also the content alone wont help you rank, you will still need links to help boost its rankings and also a technically sound website.

Blog on subdomain?
Hello, I am going to add a blog to my site.

I use cloudfront CDN to host my whole site (its a 1 page parallax type thing now)
With cloudfront I can not easily do dynamic content but it is possible. So I have a few options blog.mydomain.com pointing to a regular server
www.mydomain.com/blog/ uploading static html pages for my blog, its a slight hassel but not too bad What could be best for SEO? will having blog.mydomain.com be seen that much differently to google? are they smart enough to see it as just another section of my site? Another spanner in the works is that I have a domain for australia and a totally different domain for international sales with no content or structure duplication between them
Could I maybe be better off with a myname.wordpress.com blog and linking it to both my domains?
There are a ton of spam wordpress blogs so I am not sure what would be best. My blog will not be intended for just SEO purposes.0 -
Pr4 domain backlink from a blog post
I'm about to do a guest blog post on a pr4 domain. Will I be getting an actual pr4 backlink? I'm thinking since it's technically not going to be on the homepage forever since it's just a blog post and also a blog post has it's on page once you click on it I'm not going to get a pr4 backlink. Correct?
