Hi,
I would like to know the best anchor text practices. I think it's same for On-page and Off-page. As per the internet seo buzz, people suggests differently as below. Which actually work out?
-
Exact match with target page title or partial match
-
Will "Read more" and "learn more" are Okay?
-
How much it must be relevant with URL?
Thanks,
Satish

For internal links, just keep them relevant so people know what the link is before even clicking on it. If you have a guide on how to write page titles, make the internal anchor something like "guide to page titles".
As for external backlinks, if they're editorial links that someone else is posting, it's usually best to just leave this up to the site owner since they're going to make it relevant anyway. The best way to have a natural looking anchor text profile is to make it natural!
If you have to control the anchors (e..g directories or a guest post) then we typically lean toward this priority order:
- Your brand name
- Your URL
- Your primary keyword(s)
That means that if you did web design and the name was "ProWeb", your anchor text profile would probably look something like this, in order of highest to lowest volume:
- ProWeb
- Pro Web
- http://www.proweb.com
- Web Design
- Website Design
- webdeign
You will get all kinds of variations like mis-spellings, "read more", "click here" etc as well but you get the picture.
I hope that helps! Just make sure you don't have your keywords as the most common anchors - it's pretty obvious spam!
-
In the end they will all work. The most important thing to take into consideration is to make them as relevant and looking natural as possible. If your company name is: 'Example X' it would look most natural if your off page anchor texts do include these keywords followed by probably anchor texts like: click here, okay, read more, etc. As these are the anchor texts that are used all across the web.
Look at the patterns that other sites in your industry are using.

Anchor Text vs. Button Links
Hi How important are anchor text links within your own site vs. buttons for SEO? We've redesigned some of our pages from anchor text links to buttons which are just clickable images.I know historically this isn't the best way, but is it still as important as it used to be?

Mobile homepage title is showing unrelated text
Hi all, I've read the FAQs and searched the help center. My URL is: http://www.leibish.com/I just discover it today - when searching on mobile for the brand name (search for "Leibish") I find the following title: Reply (see the attached image). Also, when searching for site:leibish.com +reply you'll find at least a few dozens indexed pages with this title.I checked for the following:1. Link bombing - check with ahrefs and majestic - everything seemed fine.2. Alt tag or other hidden text - couldn't find anything. 3. DMOZ or Yahoo directory submissions with this anchor text - yet, nothing.Besides the fact that I must fix this issue I find it fascinating from the SEO perspective. I need the big guns in here - can you help my resolve this mystery? :-)Thanks...

Role of Home Page Text
My company operates a commercial real estate web site in New York City. We are competing against brands that can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars per year on marketing and SEO. I am an independent without employees. I am trying to replace generic home page text (my web site is ww.nyc-officespace-leader.com) with more engaging language that will differentiate the site. In terms of SEO best practices, what constraints exist on home page text? Must it discuss the brand in a general way? Must it specifically describe the interior pages of a site? For new home page text, I wanted to take a practical approach and provide visitors with a checklist that would be useful for their search. The check list would be in the form 500-800 words or very practical advice, specific items they should be aware of before commencing a real estate search. No other site is taking this approach and it could save tenants time and grief. I am attaching a very rough mock up of the new text (forgive the grammar, really needs to be edited!). Is there any thing wrong with this approach? I may have stumbled on a good idea, however maybe nobody has taken this route because it is inappropriate for a home page. I would very much appreciate any comments or guidance anyone may have. Best, Alan Rosinsky 0d76Iv2

Effects of pages heavily reliant on CSS for text and image content
We have a new feature that's been live for a couple days here: http://www.imaging-resource.com/cameras/canon/t5/vs/canon/60d/ My concern is that the developer relied very heavily on css for content and image layout. Such that the meat of our pages looks pretty meager: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/b1ccb77914c6722d40bd Google does parse css, but I'm not sure if it does so for content, or just to verify the site isn't doing something nefarious. Will google see our deeper content in the css, or view the page as being very thin?

Counting over-optimised links - do internal links count too?
To whit: In working out whether I've too many over-optimised links pointing to my homepage, do I look at just external links -- or also the links from my internal pages to my homepage? In other words, can a natural link profile from internal pages help dilute overoptimisation from external links?

Am I Stuffing Internal Anchor Text?
We've got about 1,700 products and 6,600 pages on our site. I recently finished up adding similar product links and popular category links to our product and category pages in an effort to juice up the pages that sell and make us money. I also added a category html sitemap in the footer. A couple of the targeted category rankings are moving down. Am I possible accruing a penalty for overusing anchor text? Is this internal linking strategy poor form? Thanks.
