SEMrush Backlink Damaging SEO?
-
I did a test recently with a sponsored article for some of my products, including my most popular product (https://www.spaceanswers.com/sponsored/sponsored-wear-a-piece-of-the-universe-with-the-space-collectives-meteorite-jewellery/) and it just so happens that recently this very product dropped from 2nd position to 51+, I have since managed to restore it to 6th position but I am wondering if this article is damaging my efforts?
SEMrush is showing a page score of 4/100 and a trust score of 3/100, which is obviously very low.
Is this helping or hurting my SEO?

Thanks Oleg, I'll do just that and will inform you as to the results.
There has been no other promotion. I lost the rank for the past two weeks, so I'm not sure if this is holding me down or the latest Google updates. The post has been up for around 2 months now, so I think that may be long enough to take effect.
Google loves ripping my efforts to pieces, literally any headway I make, they pull me right back down. Every. Single. Time.
This then begs the question, how does one gain do-follow backlinks organically? It would seem to me to be near impossible.

Per Google's guidelines, the links to your site from that page should be nofollowed since you paid for those links (not earned them). However, I would be surprised if their algorithm somehow picked up on that and penalized you for it.
How long have you lost those rankings for? Have you done any other promotion? If its been a while, you can try to ask the website to add rel="nofollow" to all links pointing to your website from that article and see if that helps you bounce back in serps.
If you do that, please please let us know if adding the nofollow tag helped you bounce back.

Is there any BAD SEO implications to acquiring backlinks from customers?
What would be the negative aspects to sending customer's requests for a backlink in conjunction with asking how their experience with us was? Backlinks are one of the toughest for our niche industry to acquire and this seems like one of the best angles to cover, since we have .edu , .mil , .gov , and many bigname companies making purchases from us. Would if be wrong to offer a small 5% discount during their next purchase if they create a backlink with us? Or if we added a " Customer's we've served " section including their logo or text link? Thank you! I hope you're all having an awesome day / week / month!

IP and SEO
We have a lot sites we've built sitting on the same IP as our web site. Given that a lot of web companies rely quite heavily on the backlinks they get from their clients (some rather dubious footer links are common in this space), are we getting the most out of these valuable backlinks by sharing the same IP?

App SEO: do backlinks to your google play app help?
I have an app in the Google Play store and I am trying to improve it in the play store search rankings. I was wondering if back-links to our play store URL help? If so do today's rules around back-link quality matter or its it about volume? Any other advice would be welcomed. thanks

How good are PR for getting authority backlinks ?
I have heard that Press release is one of the best source for getting high authority backlinks. Can anyone tell me about benefits of paid and free services offered by PR websites like PRweb or PRLOG ?

SEO companies
So prior to joining SEOmoz I have tried a few seo companies and had somewhat decent results. All of these companies did things like: directory submissions

social bookmarking
social profiles
blog comments
article syndication
press release and so forth. These things that they were doing worked and improved the rankings of my websites in the serps. After some time and research I figured out that all this stuff was easy to do and that I could do these things myself. After joining SEOmoz I come to find that these types of links are not considered high quality because they are easy to acquire. Some of you may even say that they are the basis of a spammy link profile. My question is why would you not want to do these things if they work and all of your competition is using these strategies, including big name brand companies?0 -
URL shortener and backlinks
Are there any SEO benefits drawn from creating backlinks with Google url shortener service(especially for the very deep links) or for the do-follow link juice I have to use a complete address?

Do no follow links have any seo value at all?
I saw some test results of no follow links from some years back and it seemed to indicate that Google still counts the anchor text in no follow links provided the page is already indexed and has do follow links pointing to it. The test results seemed to indicate that Google does count the links and uses the anchor text to cause the page to rank higher in the serps for those key words. any truth to this? If i don't expect any traffic whatsoever from a no follow link should i not build it? Take care, Ron

Ever Get disillusioned with SEO
Many times now we have pushed certain keywords for homepage listings but we have found the traffic levels to be very poor and many cases first page listings turn out to be vanity. The frustrating thing is that sometimes we have to tell some of our SEO customers that in order to get a good market share for there industry they will always have to do google adwords. What are your thoughts on this . Thanks
