What Should be the URL of third party blog for my website

Hi All,
What Should be the URL of third party blog for my website. Lets say if i have a website xyz.com (which provide pest control services in New York City) and I want to create third party blogs on platforms like blogspot, weebly etc so should i create the blog url as xyz.blogspot.com or i can use a keyword in the blog URL such as pestcontrolnyc.blogspot.com?
Which URL would be the best as per Google's guidelines.
Note: I have already have a blog within the domain as xyz.com/blog/ and i do weekly posting on this blog. But at the same time i want to create 1-2 third party blogs to get some backlinks from other sources.

Hi,
Im afraid this could be just a waste of time for you. Why would you invest time and effort to build a few more blogs (and fed them with content) when you can approach this via a proper back linking strategy?
Find out where you can submit articles, get in touch with your industry websites with good domain authority and see what you can do to get backlinked. If you keep referral traffic/PR in mind, this can bring a lot more value (high quality traffic) to you than just a number of backlinks from artificially created blogs for the backlink purposes.

As Martin said, it won't do much for you. A few years ago, having an external blog on the likes of blogspot was common practice, but it turns out that it was fairly easy for Google to figure out what was going on, seeing as they own blogspot.
You'd be better spending the time on other areas (local citations etc).

Occurrence of a certain keyword in URL is not a strong ranking signal any more. So it wouldn't help much.
The long term solution is to set up a blog named after your brand (xyz.blogspot.com) and drive traffic from there to your website. However, mainly focus on the blog on your domain (xyz.com/blog) since the high quality content is one of the most crucial things for the rankings.

Just one more question: What if we create a blog as **pestcontrolnyc.blogspot.com **and we create a few backlinks for this new blog then is it possible to rank this blog for related keywords (such as pest control nyc) as it contains the keyword in the URL itself? Will this help or not? Please advise.

I'd definitely recommend **xyz.blogspot.com **so that people can visually connect the third party blog with your brand.
Regarding the backlinks from those sites, it won't have much SEO value (compared to driving traffic through those links). Backlinks should be from topic related websites which blogging sites are obviously not. Therefore, focus mainly on your blog which will help you gain links naturally.

Reversing Canonical URLs?
A few months back, we set up canonical URLs on some pages with duplicate content to give some newer pages more link juice. Now, we need to do the opposite and give that same juice to some of the original pages. If we set up canonical URLs on the newer pages to point back to the original pages, are we losing the juice we've been building all along? Sorry for all this convoluted juice talk. URL parameters affecting link juice
I have a couple of quirks in my online shop that I'm ironing out. One of them is adding some URL parameters to product links.ie: website.com/product.html?&cat=0&featured=Y If someone links to this URL, will I get the link juice as if it was website.com/product.html ? I have URL parameters in Webmaster Tools and robots.txt set up to ignore them so they're not in the Google index, but I have found a few websites that have linked to us using these longer URL's and I'm wondering whether to write to them and ask them if they mind changing them or not.

Hello, I have use the http://copyscape.com to check the duplicate content and found that my website have some errors duplicate contents with other competitors website. Reposting Blog posts on 3rd party sites
We have a few informational blog posts that are valuable to some readers. We have posted them in our blog but were contemplating posting them on 3rd party blogging websites such as Blogger, Squidoo, etc.. Ideally we would continue to maintain these accounts with multiple blog posts, but would all be reposts of the original blog. These are not half english blog posts just hoping to gain a better Google rank. They will provide value to the readers who might not be finding their way to our website directly. Is posting these blog posts on the 3rd party websites, linking back to the original article and maybe some products that are related to the specific document going to negatively affect our rankings due to the duplication of the content?

Hi Guys, I checked my website back-links and found some bad links. Now i just want to remove links from third party website. I know two methods as mentioned below: Disallow bad links from Google Webmaster Contact to webmaster and remove them I tried both of the above methods but not get success.Is there any other method to solve this issue??

Changing url from non www to www.
basically I have realised i have more page authority and links going to www.onestopmuscle.co.uk instead of onestopmuscle.co.uk. I use wordpress and have no clue how to make sure onestopmuscle.co.uk redirects to www. version. anyone have any ideas? Where can I find a list of the top DA websites on the web?
I'd like to find a ranking of the top DA websites on the web. I'm mostly interested in US websites. I'd like at least the top 10,000 or so but the more the better. Is there a way to get this data from OpenSiteExplorer or another source? Blog commenting
I have been doing a little bit of testing in regards to blog commenting on high authority blogs that no follow comments. The comments have all been manual and added value to the blog. I have noticed quite a big jump in rankings for some keywords. I was wondering if anyone else has a view on the effectiveness of these links when combined with other link building methods?
