Organic conversions

Hi,
Is there any way (Analytics & other tools) how I can see where organic conversions come from? What search queries were used or at least what landing pages converted? Ideally, I would like exact search queries. I know I have list of these in GSC but not conversions. Analytics doesn't provide these so I cannot link them with conversions. Is there any realiable tool that is safe and won't use our data as benchmark or won't offer any form of transparency that will be useful for our competitors.

Hi John,
We are researching Keyword Hero. How safe is it in the terms of data? I believe we need to link it with our GA. I'm always very careful about linking GA as I don't want to provide any insights to my competitors.

When you use technique one, you would be correct but If you install Keyword Hero you will have access to exact keyword to conversion data.
Depending on how soon you need to produce a report I would start with the first technique I laid out until Keyword hero has enough data.

Thanks for this. So do I understand it right - I still won't know exactly what query delivered a conversion. I will just have close indication based 'group of queries' -> leading to 'landing pages' -> that delivered 'No of conversions'
Am I right here?

Hi Katarina,
You have a couple options here. One thing you can do is use the landing page report in Google Analytics with an organic segment on, this will help you determine which organic landing pages are leading to conversions and what the conversion rate of each landing page is. I recommend exporting this data into google sheets. Next, you can use a google sheets add-on called "Search analytics for sheets" to pull in the exact queries you received traffic from and which landing page they lead to. The final step is using a "vlookup" formula (or doing this manually) to map the search queries to your landing pages and conversions. So the resulting table headings would be: Search Query - Landing Page - Conversions - Conversion Rate.
This will give you groups of queries that led to landing pages that led to conversions.
Another option is a tool called "Keyword Hero" which helps unlock search queries in Google Analytics using some advanced data science. This will be easier and more efficient once you set it up but it will take time to have enough data to act on. I recommend setting up this tool ASAP and starting with the manually route until you have enough data with Keyword Hero.

Should I use sessions or unique visitors to work out my ecommerce conversion rate?
Hi all First question here but I've been lingering in the shadows for a while. As part of my companies digital marketing plan for the next financial year we are looking at benchmarking against certain KPIs. At the moment I simply report our conversion rate as Google Analytics displays it. I was incorrectly under the impression that it was reported as unique visits / total orders but I've now realised it's sessions / total orders. At my company we have quite a few repeat purchasers. So, is it best that we stick to the sessions / total orders conversion rate? My understanding is multiple sessions from the same visitor would all count towards this conversion rate and because we have repeat purchasers these wouldn't be captured under the unique visits / total orders method? It's almost as if every session we would have to consider that we have an opportunity to convert. The flip side of this is that on some of our higher margin products customers may visit multiple times before making a purchase. I should probably add that I'll be benchmarking data based on averages from the 1st April - 31st of March which is a financial year in the UK. The other KPI we will be benchmarking against is visitors. Should we change this to sessions if we will be benchmarking conversion rate using the sessions formula? This could help with continuity and could also help to reveal whether our planned content marketing efforts are engaging users. Changes to cookies, August 24 or 25? (organic search not being cookied?)
Hi folks. We've seen a precipitous change in the referral data that we're able to gather from cookies. Specifically: On August 24 or 25, traffic to our site that was cookied as coming from organic search dropped by ~25%, and traffic coming in with no referrer data at all (i.e., it appears to be "direct") rose by roughly the same amount. As far as we can see, we haven't changed anything in our systems that would have caused this (we're not just mis-reading the cookie info), so I'm looking for external reasons. Has anyone else seen this? Or have any ideas why it would happen?

Google Shopping tracking as organic traffic - help!
Hey guys, I have an eCommerce client who sometimes runs Google PLA and Google Shopping campaigns. However, we don't run his AdWords for him, just do his SEO. At the moment, the Shopping campaigns track as organic traffic within Analytics. And I can't see any way to change this! It's so infuriating. How do I change this? Thanks!

Organic Traffic Drop and Rank Increase After Video Thumbnail added
So my company has created a large amount of videos and I took a couple of them and created a test video sitemap to see what effect adding a video thumbnail/rich snippet to the SERPs would be. It worked on one page and gained 2 spots (position 6 to 4) for the highest keyword, but traffic didn't increase too much. Then a week later I tested it with the page that we get the most organic traffic for, which is ranking for a very big keyword. It worked and gained a bit of ranking, but traffic decreased 50% ever since according to Google Analytics. It seems to me that the traffic from users clicking on the video thumbnail is not be tracked as google / organic even though it lands them on the intended page/doesn't redirect anywhere else. I've looked to see if traffic to this page increased overall to see if it was being tracked via a referral or as something else, but couldn't find any traffic discrepancy. The only thing I did find is that impressions under SEO > Landing Pages > Video Property increased, but this could be from the page ranking in the Video SERPs now. Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Do you think having a video snippet could be that big of a turn off for customers that people just aren't clicking like they used to? I don't think so, that's why I'm leaning towards a tracking discrepancy in Google Analytics.

No paid conversions shown in GA Multi Channel Funnel
For some reason paid conversions are not showing in the Multi Channel Funnel and nothing shows under the adwords tab. What would be the reason?

Google Analytics Organic Search Keywords Suddenly Displaying FulL Urls
In my Google Analytics, the top keywords for Organic Search are suddenyl displaying full URLs. For example, now the third and fourth keywords are http://www.domain.com/highly-specific-URL. These have all started recently around the same day, July 12th. I've checked back, and we've made no internal changes to the site around that time that could affect this. Any thoughts on this? Thanks! P.S. It might be related to rich snippets, but I cannot tell at this point.

Google Analytic - Is it possible to see which organic keyword triggered goals?
Hi, I am trying to see which of my Google organic keywords triggered my goals? In GA I click > Conversion > Goals > Overview > Source Medium (This then says where my goals came from but when I click Google / Organic it just brings me to the overview page of my organic traffic). Is it possible to see which organic keywords trigger goals?
