I saw many websites theses days remove stop words from the URL, How important is to remove stop words from the URL?

Hi Varun - I'd say it's mildly valuable, not super important. If you can, and it's easy, go for it. If you're struggling to do so, don't worry about it. Neither search engines nor users are too picky about stopword removal in URLs.

It makes the URL look cleaner, also no stop word is any use either in the URL or in the page title. Sometimes they are essential where for example a record by the band 'Cage The Elephant' would make no sense if you removed the 'The', but in general, they are of little use. It's for that reason they are discouraged. They can also make the URL overly long but no one seems to be able to decide what is too long.
Stick to succinct, punchy URLs that tell it as it is.

Removing non www and index.php
Hi, I'm green when it comes to altering the htaccess file to remove non www and index.php. I think I've managed to redirect the urls to www however not sure if I've managed to remove the index.php. Removing old URLs that are being used for my on page optimization?
Is there a way to remove old URL's that are still being used for my keywords for my on page optimization? They are giving me grades of F since they no longer exist and if I change the URL to the current one, the grade becomes an A, but they are still showing after the new crawl.

Removing Tag Cloud to Decrease the number of On-Site Links?
I have website which has a tag cloud at the footer. This tag cloud or tag box has about 40 links pointing to different words(tags) pages. I believe that the tags are hardly ever clicked on by visitors, since its at the footer. If the tag cloud is removed would this decrease the number of on-site links? According crawl diagnostics summary I have 195 pages with too many links. Would removing it help? And what kind changes can I expect if they removed (seo wise)?

Exact Match Domain + shorter permalink vs. longer permalink?
So here's the scenario... You own the exact match domain for "Acupuncture Intake Form" and want to create a page that targets the phrase, "Acupuncture Intake Form Template"... In terms of SEO, which of the following permalinks does a better job targeting the term "Acupuncture Intake Form Template" : A) www.acupunctureintakeform.com/template/ B) www.acupunctureintakeform.com/acupuncture-intake-form-template/ From a user-friendliness perspective, I can definitely see why the /template/ is more ideal. It's more memorable, easier to link to, and logical. I'm just wondering whether there is some edge that the /acupuncture-intake-form-template/ has that I'm not aware of, or if there's some gray area. I can also think of scenarios where the longer version might be better. For example, if there were several different kinds of acupuncture intake form templates. If that were the case, then /template/ might be too vague (e.g. is it the normal "acupuncture intake form template" or is it the "acupuncture intake form template with diagram"). So in that respect, the longer one might be less concise in certain situations, but in others provide more clarity. (Note: I'm looking for answers to this situation as it applies to any website. I just chose this extremely small niche exact match domain because it's an example that illustrate my questions). Thanks in advance for any answers, insights, or comments! 100 Words per category
These are the numbers of words I have heard mentioned as being "good enough" for the categories of ecommerce pages. Even at a stretch 50 words maximum. What are peoples opinions on the volume of words required ?

Impact of removing category sidebar with keywords?
Our site (a niche financial publication: insideARM.com) requires some more room in the sidebar. We're considering removing the categories (we call them topics) sidebar block, or cutting down the number of items displayed within it. My concern is that we'd be removing a direct link to landing pages for important keyword terms from our most powerful page (the index). Sure, we have the terms listed in the footer, but I am worried that the position change will lower the value of the links. Our users don't really use these links for navigational purposes, which is why it comes up as a potential removed item. Am I wrong to worry about this? Would we be crippling our category pages by doing this?
