How to encourage guest bloggers to link back
-
Hi, we have just started to allow guest bloggers on our site www.in2town.co.uk where we offer them two links within the articles, but what we would really like to do is to encourage them to link back to their articles.
I am trying to find information on how we can encourage guest bloggers to link back and would love to hear your thoughts.

That's reciprocal linking, I wouldn't do it. Plus the deal is they write good content for you and you give them a link. Why would someone want to link back to you AND write content, seems like a bad deal for them and at that point you're just doing link exchanges. They may want to promote their article on places like FB or twitter and link to you from other sites though.

Hi Diane,
Usually when people guest blog, they are usually told not to link to any of their articles because it might look like they are promoting their articles. Therefore, people usually just link to other people's articles that defend their case or support their data.
What you can do is create a "Guest Blog" page on your website and list out the rules and on that page, encourage them to link to their articles.

Internal Links from Blog
Quick question. In regards to linking to products from your blog. I've read recently that linking excessively between your site can be a bad SEO habit. So, I was curious if anyone else has heard of this. Plus, if you have a blog, how many internal links should you have going to you pages on your site - other blogs, products etc? Thanks.

Is there an upper bound on the number of links an url might get in a day?
There are link spammers and programs like GSA and others, that automate linkbuilding, and I was wondering if anybody ever had a penalty because a page on his site is getting too many references (links). I am not talking about spamming here. So provided that the links are coming from relevant, unique sources, but you do an over excessive campaign, and you seem to be getting too many backlinks, can it negatively affect SEO? Alternatively: is there an upper bound on the number of links you try to build in a day when you are doing linkbuilding?

How can I make a clickable header on Tumblr (with several links to click)
I would like to make a clickable header with several links to click, for example the possibility to click Facebook & Twitter icons to get redirected to my twitter and Facebook page. I know how to make the clickable image and get the html for it. But where in the HTML on tumblr should I insert it? Can I override the custom header with my HTML header somehow? Appreciate all the help I can get, Thanks.

Translated text: should I use canonical link?
Hello everybody, I'm writing an article in Danish, which I have translated into English on a Danish blog. But I'm not sure if I have to use the canonical link from the English version to the Danish, or whether I should just publish both without using canonical link. What is your recommendation for this? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks & regards, Jonathan

This would not be considered selling links would it?
I have a site that is an informational site about a particular market segment. It is not a directory at all, but as part of the site I have pages for the various vendors, and have "states" pages that list which vendors sell in those states. The site makes very good money on adsense. But I see opportunity in getting the vendors to pay to be listed in our site. At a minimum, grandfather in those already there, and then charge for new companies to be included. Most of the new companies are second-tier players anyway, and if they decode not to pay and get in, it's not to a detriment ot my site. But I do have companies lining up wanting to get in. Of course my first thought, is what will Google think? I would of course make any link out to one of the vendors NOFOLLOW, so even even though they pay for inclusion on our site, I am not selling links for page juice. Google loves us in search right now, so they have a favorable opinion of us. The site has lots of content, and new blog posts and comments all most pages hourly. So, is this going to be okay with Google? I don't see how it breaks any rules, but thought I'd better check. One further worry: If I change the new guys for inclusion on the site, and don't charge the old ones, that means I'd have the new guys NOFOLLOW, but the old ones would still be DOFOLLOW if I don't change them. I don't want Google to be confused thinking I might have sold those existing DOFOLLOW links as well. So, should I change them all to NOFOLLOW? And if I do, does that then cause anything that Google would not like (I know they don't like pagerank hoarding).

Google plus Rich snippets for guest posting on large websites
I work for a content marketing company and the majority of our clients are large banks looking to get their message out there. We're thinking of favouring writers with Google plus profiles and adding the rel=author tag so all the articles incorporate rich snippets and a profile image. So this is more of a discussion into whether you think this would be beneficial to a large corporation. I know it aids in search and authority but it would mean a company would have many faces and they usually have one.

Think of when a company makes a speech on TV its always 1 person designated as the company spokesperson. Another way would be to write on behalf of somebody in the company and have there profile image but I can imaging this is frowned upon by Google. What are your thoughts0 -
Ideas for Redesigning, Relaunching, and Revitalizing a Community of Bloggers
As a longtime user (now the owner) of a great site that was down a few times over the last couple of years I am looking for advice on how to let the over 100,000 members that have used us know that we are back and now supported fully by a team of people that love the site and what we stand for (quality, curated content and blog carnivals). We did a complete redesign, removed old carnivals, removed inactive users, deleted lower quality carnivals, and fixed some portions of the site that were less than optimal (aka broken). Should we attempt to email everyone, or let them naturally come back? In case it's not clear, we are from BlogCarnival.com.

Blogger - Multiple partial duplicate content and canonical
In Blogger, have at least three pages produced for each post - main post, archive and tag - each has their own canonical tag - are these considered duplicate content by Google? Not sure the best way to handle this.
