I still see the old page in index
-
Hello,
I have done a redirect and still see in google index my old page after 3 weeks.
My new page is there also
Is it normal that the old page isn't dropped for the index yet ?
Thank you,
-
My bad I explained incorrectly subdomain.
Ok so redirects are good in my situation. I will just need to be patient because it has indexed the new page but still shows the new and old one in the search results. I imagine it can take a few month for the old address to go away. If I remember well google keeps the old one in its index for 90 days ? Hopefully it replaces it with the new one soon...
-
Yes it is from
www.old.com to www.new.com (domain change)
or
old.abc.com to new.abc.com (subdomain change)
It is not for
www.abc.com/old to www.abc.com/new
Redirects will handle that.

Do I need to use the tool or should I let google take care of it over time see that I have 301 redirects ?
I looks like the too your mention is to change from www.abc.com to www.aaa.com but not www.abc/old.com to www.abc/new.com.
Thank you,
-
Yes, that's normal. Have you got redirects in place have you submitted your new sitemap.
Also, use the change of domain tool - it supports subdomains
-
It is an entire website (subdomain change) so I guess that is normal ... isn't it ?
-
It depends on the circumstances. eg is it a site restructure or a domain name change.
If it's just the one page 3 weeks is a little bit long. Check your crawl frequency in google search console. Check your internal linking. Can the page be crawled easily etc etc
You can manually fetch the old page in search console. The 301 will be detected - then click "request indexing"

When I tried Indexing my newly created service pages. The pages are not getting indexed on Google.
I also tried manual indexing of each page and submitted a sitemap but still, the issue doesn't seem to be resolved. Thanks0 -

Should I index resource submission forms, thank you, event pages, etc.? Doesn't Google consider this content too thin?

Difficulty with Indexing Pages - Desperate for Help!
I have a website with product pages that use the same URL, but load different data based on what's passed to them with GET. I am using a Wordpress website, but all of the page information is retrieved from a database using PHP and displayed with PHP. Somehow these pages are not being indexed by Google. I have done the following: 1. Created a site map pointing to each page. 2. Defined URL parameters in Search Console for these type of pages. 3. Created a product schema using schema.org, and tested it without errors. I have requested re-indexing repeatedly and these pages and images on the pages are still not being indexed! Does anybody have any suggestions?

What is the proper way to execute 'page to page redirection'
I need to redirection every page of my website to a new url of another site I've made. I intend to add:"Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.example.com/newpage.html"I will use the 301 per page to redirect every page of my site, but I'm confused that if I add:"Redirect 301 / http://mt-example.com/" it will redirect all of my pages to the homepage and ignore the URLs i have separately mentioned for redirection. Please guide me.

How do you de-index and prevent indexation of a whole domain?
I have parts of an online portal displaying in SERPs which it definitely shouldn't be. It's due to thoughtless developers but I need to have the whole portal's domain de-indexed and prevented from future indexing. I'm not too tech savvy but how is this achieved? No index? Robots? thanks

To land page or not to land page
Hey all, I wish to increase my sites rankings on a variety of keywords within sub categories but I'm unsure where to be spending the time in SEO. Here's an example of the website page structure: General Home Page > Sub Category 1 Home Page
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | DPSSeomonkey
> Searching / Results pages
- Sub Category 1
- Sub Category 2
- Sub Category 3
- Sub Category 4 > Sub Category 2 Home Page
> Searching / Results pages
- Sub Category 1
- Sub Category 2
- Sub Category 3
- Sub Category 4 We've newly introduced the Sub Category Home Pages and I was wondering if SEO is best performed on these pages or should landing pages be built, one for each of the 4 sub categories in each section. Those landing pages would have links to the "Searching / Results pages" for that sub category. Thanks!0 -
How to find what Googlebot actually sees on a page?
1. When I disable java-script in Firefox and load our home page, it is missing entire middle section. 2. Also, the global nav dropdown menu does not display at all. (with java-script disabled) I believe this is not good. 3. But when type in <website name="">in Google search and click on the cached version of home page > and then click on text only version, It displays the Global nav links fine.</website> 4. When I switch the user agent to Googlebot(using Firefox plugin "User Agent Swticher)), the home page and global nav displays fine. Should I be worried about#1 and #2 then? How to find what Googlebot actually sees on a page? (I have tried "Fetch as Googlebot" from GWT. It displays source code.) Thanks for the help! Supriya.
