Online shop - Long Titles & URLs acceptable?

Hi guys,
We have this new online shop with over 1000 products (very technical products), synchronised with the SAP system of the company. So basically the page URLs are generated based on the following structure:
Domain Name / Language / Product Category / Subcategory-1 / Subcategory-2 / Subcategory-3 / Product Name and Model
Sometimes the URLs are over 130 characters length.
Would this harm the shop's ranking, so should we really fix this, or it's something that can be ignored, having in mind the technical products in the shop?

We do not believe that you need to worry about this at all.
Google wants to show the most relevant results for a search query regardless of URL length. Short URL's look better to humans but if you have a long URL that has authority and is optimized well for the phrase and gives the searcher what they are looking for, then Google will show it in the SERPs.
We just pulled the top 20 results for 200 phrases that we are tracking in our system to analyze the URL length to give you some real data.
- Out of the 2000 URL's showing up in the top 10 spots, 77 of them contain 100 characters or more. That's 3.85% of all the URL's.
- The longest URL was 194 characters long and ranked number 3 for a specific query.
- 165 URL's in the top 20 spots contain more than 100 characters.
- Average URL length is 62.04 characters.
- Average URL length excluding homepages that rank is 65.01 characters.
- Median character length is 60.
A bigger issue for you all is to work on getting as many of your URL's indexed as possible to give them the chance to show up in the SERPs.

Google No Longer Respecting Javascript Titles & Metas
We implemented title tags and meta descriptions for one of our clients using a GTM and some JS / jQuery. It's been working well for months. Rankings started dropping and nothing had been changed. We tore our hair out. I finally noticed that Google doesn't show our titles/descripts in the SERPs anymore. So I double checked in the developer console that everything was working ok, and you can even see our title in the browser tab. Anyone else see this or have any ideas? Thanks!

Title Missing or Empty
Hello, I get a 'Title Missing or Empty' for the following page on our website: http://www.niyati.sg/print-design/57/annual-report-design This error is seen while checking through other tools like Screaming Frog also. Any idea what the issue may be? The page is generated through a custom CMS, so the title and meta descriptions are created the same way as the other portfolio pages, none of which shows any errors. Changing all urls
A client of mine has a wordpress website that is installed in a directory, called "site". So when you go to www.domain.com you are redirected to www.domain.com/site. We all know how bad it is to have a redirect fron your subdomain to another page. In this case I measured a loss of 5 points of page authority. The question is: what is the best practice to remove the "site" from the address and changing all the urls? Should I use the webmaster tool to tell to Google that the site is moving? It's not 100% true, cause the site is just moving one level up. Should I install a copy of the website under www.domain.com and just redirect 301 every old page to its new url? This way I think the site would be deindexet for 2/3 months. Any suggestions or tips welcome! Thanks DoMiSol

Canonical URL Issue
Hi Everyone, I'm fairly new here and I've been browsing around for a good answer for an issue that is driving me nuts here. I tried to put the canonical url for my website and on the first 5 or 6 pages I added the following script SEOMoz reported that there was a problem with it. I spoke to another friend and he said that it looks like it's right and there is nothing wrong but still I get the same error. For the URL http://www.cacaniqueis.com.br/video-caca-niqueis.html I used the following: <link rel="<a class="attribute-value">canonical</a>" href="http://www.cacaniqueis.com.br/video-caca-niqueis.html" /> Is there anything wrong with it? Variables in URLS?
How much do variables in URLs hurt indexing of that page? I'm worried that with this huge string of variables that the pages won't get indexed. Can I redirect a URL that has a # in it? How?
Hi there - My web developer is saying that I can't do a URL redirect with a "#" in it. Currently, the URL is actually an anchored link within a page (which the URL indicates with a #). I want to change the content to a new URL, but our website links internally to the old URL, so we would need to do a URL redirect (assume 301). Can you tell me if this is possible and how? Thanks!
