Is submitting a disavow list is helpful in link analysis
-
what aspect should be checking while submitting disavow link ?
-
Hi, I have the same experience with Portafina. It not only slowed down my speed, but also the performance. But disowning helped me a lot. Thanks

Remember, correlation does not equal causation.

Really, there's no way for MOZ or A HREFS to detect which domains you have put into a seperate disavow file that you've uploaded to google.
-
but it did increase in my case
-
I dont believe such a thing that when you update a Google Disavow, your DA suddenly increases.
-
Thank you for your response
You covered all my queries regarding Disavow list. same my company also hired a seo agency that left a lot of Sammy links that hurt the ranking as obvious.
While flagging a URL as a Spam what aspects should I consider ?
-
Thank you for your Response .
As I have been through this article. i want to know that what aspect we should be checking while flagging a link as an spam?
-
no,but last time when i submitted disavow list it helped me in increasing my Domain Authority. and previously my company hired a seo agency to do the work. so we eventually have a lot of Sammy links

Interesting case. I do have a website thats more then 10 years old and which belongs to one of my clients. He got struck by the typical wordpress comment spam, in short there where over 50k of comment links found in barely months, and that counter is still going up since google is'nt so fast in crawling half of the internet (yet).
It is true that google pretty much senses if something evil or phishy is going on. I was suprised that even with 10k of follow links with the worst (same) anchor all over the place left the ranking(s) pretty much in tact. But there's good tools like https://websiteseochecker.com/extract-url-to-domain/#arearesult for example where you could cram in dozen of links and simply get ONE url out of it instead of weaving through a thousands of URL's manually.
This made it pretty easy to finally cram all those links in disavow. Yes some do hurt; usually after a half day when i submitted a disavow list rankings became a bit better. But if your spammed with low quality keywords, pages and all that, and you did'nt had anything with it or it was the 'leftover' from another SEO company, it's good to manually put these in disavow and measure the performance of your website. Sometimes it can take up to 2 weeks even, so have a bit of patient.

Google has an easy-to-read article for you about when and how to disavow links.
https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487?hl=en
In short, rarely do you ever need to disavow links, even if they're spammy. They have smart analysis built-in to detect whether a spammy link is just spam or if it is the result of unethical SEO practices trying to game the system, otherwise known as "black hat SEO". In the case that they detect or suspect unethical backlinking, you will be hit with a "manual action". You can check for these, as well as disavow links, in the Google Search Console.

We're looking at providing SEO for a website that has the majority of its incoming links from websites created solely to provide links. Few have bad spam rankings. How worried should I be about those links?
The majority of incoming links to a prospect's website are from website pages apparently created solely to provide links to the website. Few have high spam scores. The sites linking to the main site have versions of blogs with linked text. They seem to be providing positive SEO value now, but I'm concerned they might get noticed and hurt the main site in the future.

GWT Lists URLs with links to my site, but those URLs don't have links to my site
There are a number of URLs that show up for my website in Webmaster Tools as having links to my site when in fact they don't. I know this to be a fact because I actually wrote some of the sites that Google is saying are linking to my site and I know there isn't any links on the specific pages to that site. For example, the site in question is: https://www.liftproducts.com/ As an example, Google is saying that about 100 URLs from https://www.lift-tables.net/ are linking to it when, I'm fairly confident that there is only 1 link to it found here: https://www.lift-tables.net/info.php?countrytabs=3 Yet Google says links exist on this (and many more) page: https://www.lift-tables.net/liftproducts/max-lift/lpt4w-030-48.php I thought at first it might have been due to linking to a image file directly instead of locally hosting it, but after checking the source, that's not the case. I am also seeing this type of non-linking being reported on sites I have no clue what they are. For example, some Spanish site about tandem bicycles is being listed as linking to liftproducts.com: http://206-225-85-34.dedicated.abac.net/tandem/inc Yet I can find no evidence of an actual link existing. Am I missing something here? Any insight of why this is happening and how I can clean up my link signature would be appreciated.

Spammy links
Hi Guys, I have a case which seems to occur more often for our customers. The websites of our customers seem to receive tons of backlinks from websites all over the world (China, Russia, Ukrain, etc). It’s spam we never asked for, we didn’t buy any dodgy linkbuilding packages or anything. Do any of you guys have experience with this matter? We try to disavow the links but it takes too much time and we will never manage to disavow 100% of all links. Examples are www.keukensduitsland.nl and www.m2beveiliging.nl Hope anyone has experience and maybe even solutions for this matter. Thanks!

Internal Linking - Post links vs Side Bar Links behaving differently
Hi, I have a question regarding the internal linking behavior. My website is www.hindimeaning.com which is approx 3 years old. I have approx 450 posts. Now i have a widget on right sidebar "Popular posts". A widget below my posts "Related Posts". And a simple html CSS menu above the posts (I removed menu around 6 month before so currently it will not show.) I crawled my site with moz crawler (same are the result from google crawler as well) and it shows menus links as internal links. While sidebar widget "Popular posts" and "Related Posts" are not showing as internal links. If we talk theoretically what i learn till now is "every link on a page behaves as internal link". Then why the widget links are not showing as internal links. Thanks, Mahesh Kumar

Should I disavow spammy links that are showing in Open Site Explorer but not showing in Google Webmaster Tools?
Howdy Mozzers, After carrying out a backlink audit for a client, Open Site Explorer shows a range of outrageously spammy links for guys wanting a bit of assistance in the bedroom area, and so on. Hopping over to Google Webmaster Tools, there is no reported trace of said spammy links (for either of the www/non-www versions of the site). There are also no manual webspam actions found on the www/non-www Google Webmaster Tools accounts for this website. So my question is: do I carry out a pre-emptive strike and go down the disavow process of requesting removal from the spammy sites, and then submit a disavow request to Google after allowing a suitable period of time for the junky/compromised website to (not) respond? Or do I just leave it alone? Thanks in advance for your wise words of wisdom and pearls of clarity.

Disavow links from questionable blog
Hi everyone, I noticed today that we are getting quite a few backlinks from a blog that promotes some rather seedy ideals (it's called zoklet). Specifically, they are linking to some products we sell that prevent shoplifting, so I'm drawing some conclusions about their motives. I don't think the blog itself is spammy, but I'm just assuming that it's a bad neighborhood and we should distance ourselves from it. The only reason I'm questioning the disavow is because of the warnings involved and that it might affect our rankings if we do it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Why does Open Site Explorer list SEOMOZ forum links so high ?
When I was checking my back links in Open Sight Explorer I was surprised to see that because I have asked three questions recently here on the forum about my business website www.endeavourcottage.co.uk and they are now listed near the position 3 to 5 Of course I was not putting my business website link on their with the motivation of gaining some SEO benefits but when you get these no follow links do they have any usefulness in that direction? I read that say no follow links have no link juice so is any beneficial aspects? I It wouldn't be the ideal situation to encourage that kind of activity, but if they have no value at all why does Open Site Explorer list them? seo.JPG
