Unsolved Can you accurately track lead source when using a cookie consent system?
-
With the introduction of cookie consent for third party analytics cookies, is it still possible to accurately track traffic source?
Legally, you can't create a tracking cookie for platforms like Analytics until consent is given. So...the associated Javascript tags can't fire.
Surely this means you can't collect any of the information on the user's original source...
Can anyone shed any light on this conundrum....greatly appreciated.

@beklerken unfortunately not, I was hoping for some technical insight into whether it's possible to track the original source when someone chooses to accept cookies.

It naturally returns to the web start. Of course, personal rights will also be valid on the internet, which is used extensively now. Attention should be paid to the framework of respect for people.
Analytics makes a restriction there, but you can see how long the user has come and stood there. When creating reports, it is useful to distinguish between using and not using cookies.
Everyone has rights as individuals and it's just a matter of learning to respect that.Of course, this is my personal opinion, I hope it helped your question.

GSC problem: how to solve?
Hi all, Google Search Console gives me an error on these pages: info:https://www.varamedia.be/?utm_content=bufferbaaa4&utm_medium=social&utm_source=plus.google.com&utm_campaign=buffer info:https://www.varamedia.be/?utm_content=bufferece3f&utm_medium=social&utm_source=plus.google.com&utm_campaign=buffer I see there's an UTM tracking in the URL from Google+. We do have an account there but I don't see how this might give an error. Is this hurting our ranking score? How can we solve this?

Unsolved Google Analytics (GA4) recommendations for SEO analysis?
Guides on Moz and elsewhere mostly refer to Google Analytics' Universal Analytics (UA). However, UA is being replaced with GA4, and the interface, options, and reporting are very different. Can you recommend a clear, thorough, and effective walkthrough of how to set up useful SEO reports in GA4? Is there a simple tool you recommend that will help connect historical data from UA to GA4 when GA4 is the only option available? If there's no simple tool, what values do you recommend retaining from UA for effective historical reporting? How would you use them? At minimum for reporting, I'd want to show month-to-month changes and year-to-year changes (in percentages and in real numbers) for the following: all site visits all organic visits organic visits as a percentage of all site visits organic visits that led to a specific goal completion organic visits that led to any goal completion Thanks in advance for your help!

How do you report SEO audit findings?
Hello, Mozzers! I'm curious to know how you report SEO audit findings. Do you use a spreadsheet? A presentation? A formal report? Or maybe something else. If you have a favourite audit template, I'd love to see it. A second question: what things do you report in an audit? I currently report crawl findings, authority and trust, link profiles, and competitive analysis. I also investigate a site's security—that's not usually part of an audit, but site owners need to know about it. What do you report to your audit customers? Thanks for sharing your auditing wisdom!

Google analytics suddenly stopped tracking all my landing pages
Hey guys. I love the new update of GA. Looks so clean. So, of course, I was excited to see how my landing pages were doing. I went to behavior, all content, all pages. And I noticed it's only showing me 19 pages out of the 93 I have indexed. And none of the top ones at all! Can't find them anywhere in GA! Anyone seen this before? Thank you so much

Want to track AJAX form submits. Is this correct?
Hi! I would like to track everytime a visitor clicks a AJAX contact form's submit button. I created an event in Google Analytics and plan to add some javascript to the submit button code. This is the current submit button code: This is how it'll look after I add the category, action, etc.: Is this correct or am I missing something? Please let me know if you need further detail. Thanks a lot!

Google Analytics Goal Tracking Head Match w/ Query Strings
Hello, I have what should be a simple question here but there is a small nuisance I am trying to make sure I have configured correctly. We have a product based website w/ no e-commerce because they sell through a dealer network. All these product pages have "Where to Buy" links and the URL after you click where to buy always uses the query string ?r=XXX. Example: www.mysite.com/product/category/subcategory/product-name?r=12345 I want to setup a goal in GA with a URL and configure head match on the "?r" but which of the following is exactly how it should be configured with the "Goal URL" ?r= ?r r= Does it matter, because I had it setup as "?r" and it was never registering any goals. Do I need to leave off the "?" and just have it be r= Thanks in advance for the respones.
