This is a question for the organic SEO experts, once you added the main keyword that you want to rank for in the homepage title, meta title plus meta description, perhaps once or twice in the text on the homepage. How often do you then write it in the content marketing, say blog posts, we want to rank higher on Google for "SEO agencies Cardiff" however if you mention this in the blog posts too much say once a week, this could lead to over optimisation issues?
-
@sarahwalsh To avoid over-optimization, use the keyword naturally and focus on related terms (LSI keywords). Mention the main keyword sparingly in blogs, ensuring variety in topics, and prioritize quality content that provides value to your audience.

To avoid over-optimization, aim to include your main keyword, "SEO agencies Cardiff," naturally in blog posts about once a month rather than weekly. Focus on producing high-quality, relevant content that provides value to your audience. For instance, discussing how SEO techniques can be used effectively with FM WhatsApp can organically incorporate your keyword without appearing spammy. Diversify your content with related keywords to maintain a balanced SEO strategy.

Finding the right balance for keyword usage in blog posts is crucial for effective SEO strategy. While it's important to incorporate "SEO agencies Cardiff" naturally in your content to signal relevance to Google, overusing it can indeed lead to over optimization concerns. A good approach is to focus on creating valuable, informative content that naturally includes variations of your target keyword. This not only avoids keyword stuffing but also enhances user engagement and readability. Tools like Lightroom for Samsung can similarly enhance digital content creation, offering innovative ways to optimize visuals and user experience across platforms.

As an SEO expert, I can provide insights on your question about keyword usage and potential over-optimization issues:
Homepage optimization: You're on the right track by including your main keyword "SEO agencies Cardiff" in the homepage title, meta title, meta description, and homepage content. This establishes relevance for your primary target.
Content marketing and blog posts: When it comes to using this keyword in your blog posts, it's essential to maintain a natural approach:
a) Frequency: Instead of using the exact phrase "SEO agencies Cardiff" in every blog post, focus on topic relevance and semantic variations.
b) Semantic variations: Use related terms like "Cardiff SEO services," "digital marketing agencies in Cardiff," or "SEO consultants Cardiff" to avoid repetition while still signaling relevance.
c) Long-tail keywords: Incorporate longer, more specific phrases that include your main keyword, such as "how to choose the best SEO agency in Cardiff" or "benefits of hiring a local Cardiff SEO agency."
Avoiding over-optimization: To prevent over-optimization issues:
a) Focus on creating valuable, comprehensive content that naturally incorporates your target keywords and related terms.
b) Use your main keyword strategically in important on-page elements (headings, first paragraph) rather than forcing it into every post.
c) Prioritize user intent and experience over keyword density.
Content diversity: Create a mix of content types, including informational posts, case studies, and industry news, to build topical authority around SEO and Cardiff business services.
Internal linking: Use varied anchor text when linking between your blog posts and service pages to distribute ranking power and reinforce relevance without over-using the exact keyword.
Monitor and adjust: Regularly check your rankings and traffic. If you notice a decline, it might indicate over-optimization, and you should adjust your strategy.Remember, modern SEO is more about comprehensive topical coverage and user value than exact keyword repetition. Yeah, you are right.
But adding keywords to any page doesn't mean you have to do keyword stuffing.
You need to understand the requirements of the page.
The best way to get an idea is your competitors who are already ranking against those keywords.
Also, adding the Title and Description is not the only thing you need to do for the On-Page SEO. But there are a lot of other things which you need to consider as well.If you are trying to rank the homepage of your website then I recommend you to use Schema Markup. Schema Markup can give the right information to Google and other search engines about your website. If you are not aware of how to generate schema markup you can use any free online tools like Balti Blogges Schema Markup Generator Tools to generate schema markup.
You can create all kind of schemas with ZERO CONDING KNOWLEDGE. -
Hi,
Great question! When it comes to organic SEO and keyword optimization, balance is key. Here are some general guidelines:
-
Homepage and Meta Tags: You've mentioned the main keyword in the homepage title, meta title, and meta description, which is a good start. Including it naturally in the homepage text is also beneficial.
-
Content Marketing and Blog Posts: For blog posts, aim to include your target keyword, "SEO agencies Cardiff," in a natural and contextually relevant way. It's important not to overuse it to avoid over-optimization penalties from Google.
-
Frequency: Mentioning the keyword once a week in blog posts is generally fine, as long as it fits naturally within the content. Focus on creating high-quality, valuable content that addresses your audience's needs and interests.
-
Synonyms and Related Terms: Use synonyms and related terms to avoid keyword stuffing.
-
Diverse Content: Ensure your content covers a range of topics related to SEO, not just the target keyword. This approach will help build authority and relevance for your site as a whole.
Remember, the goal is to provide valuable information to your readers while incorporating keywords in a way that feels natural and unforced.

You're right, there's a sweet spot for keyword density and you don't want to overdo it. Here's how to use your main keyword in content marketing for SEO:
- Naturally: Focus on creating informative and engaging content that provides value to your readers. The keyword should fit naturally within your writing, not be forced in.
- Strategically: Aim to include your main keyword and related terms throughout your content, but avoid keyword stuffing. A good rule of thumb is to target a keyword density of 1-2%. This means the keyword (or variations of it) should appear 1-2 times for every 100 words.
- Prominently: Include your main keyword in your title tag, meta description, headings (H1, H2, etc.), and throughout the body text, but strategically as mentioned earlier.
Here's what you can do for your scenario of ranking higher for "SEO agency in India":
-
Content Strategy: Create blog posts that target relevant long-tail keywords related to SEO services in India. For example, "best SEO practices for Indian businesses" or "how to choose an SEO agency in India."
-
Content Optimization: As you write these blog posts, include "SEO agencies India" and related keywords naturally throughout the content, following the 1-2% density guideline.
By focusing on valuable content and strategic keyword use, you can attract organic traffic and improve your ranking for "SEO agency in India" without keyword stuffing.
-
You're right, there's no need to stuff your blog posts with the exact keyword phrase "SEO agencies Cardiff." Once or twice on the homepage and meta descriptions is enough. To improve your ranking for that term, focus on using relevant synonyms and long-tail keywords throughout your content.
For instance, instead of just "SEO agencies Cardiff," you could use phrases like "Cardiff SEO services," "improve your Cardiff website's ranking," or "tips for local SEO in Cardiff." This way, you can target related searches without keyword overstuffing.

Hi Moz Expert SEO Community,
Here are some talking points I'm considering for my client discussions:Data Source Transparency: Explain how Moz uses its own proprietary methodology to estimate search volume, which might involve different data sources or algorithms compared to other tools. Understanding these differences can help contextualize the varying results.
Focus on Value over Volume: Emphasize that while search volume is an important metric, it is not the only factor to consider. Highlight the importance of user intent, keyword difficulty, and the potential for conversions. These elements are crucial for choosing keywords that will drive meaningful traffic and business results.
Data Accuracy Considerations: Acknowledge that search volume data can vary across different platforms and tools due to various calculation methods and data sources. Suggest using a combination of tools to get a broader and more nuanced perspective on keyword performance.
In addition to these points, I would appreciate any additional strategies you recommend for handling this situation. Specifically, how can I effectively select keywords with good volume using Moz and communicate these decisions to my client?
Thanks in advance for your insights and recommendations!

I'm optimizing for on-page SEO.
While other tools are indicating a healthy amount of traffic for the keywords I've chosen for content creation, Moz is offering significantly lower search volume estimates. This inconsistency is causing client concerns and potentially hindering project approval.
To effectively address this and ensure successful client communication, I'd like to dig deeper into how Moz approaches search volume calculations. Understanding the methodology behind Moz's data will allow me to explain potential reasons for the differences and provide a more comprehensive picture for the client.
Here are some talking points I consider for client discussions:
Data Source Transparency: Explain how Moz uses its own methodology to estimate search volume, which may differ from other tools.
Focus on value over volume: While search volume is important, emphasize the importance of other factors such as user intent, keyword difficulty, and conversion potential when choosing keywords.
Data accuracy considerations: Recognize that search volume data can fluctuate across platforms, and using a combination of tools can provide a broader perspective.
Would you recommend additional strategies to deal with this situation and effectively select good volume keywords for this particular website from Moz?
Thanks in advance for your insight!Absolutely, addressing client concerns about search volume estimates from Moz versus other tools requires a strategic approach. Here are some additional strategies to consider:
Educate Clients: Provide clients with an overview of how different SEO tools use varying methodologies to estimate search volume. Emphasize that each tool may have its own algorithms and data sources, leading to discrepancies in reported metrics.
Case Studies and Examples: Share case studies or examples where Moz's search volume estimates have accurately predicted keyword performance or trends. Highlight instances where Moz data provided valuable insights or guided successful SEO strategies.
Focus on Relevance: Emphasize the importance of selecting keywords based on relevance to the website's content, target audience, and business goals, rather than solely relying on search volume metrics. Ensure that chosen keywords align with the website's theme and the intent of potential visitors.
Long-Tail Keywords: Explore the potential of targeting long-tail keywords with lower search volumes but higher relevance and conversion potential. Explain how targeting specific, niche terms can attract highly qualified traffic and lead to better engagement and conversions.
Continuous Monitoring and Adjustment: Stress the importance of regularly monitoring keyword performance and making adjustments based on actual data and insights. Encourage clients to view SEO as an ongoing process that requires flexibility and adaptation.
By combining these strategies with transparent communication and a focus on long-term value, you can help clients understand the nuances of search volume estimates and make informed decisions for their SEO efforts.

Hi Moz Expert SEO Community,
Balancing keyword usage in content marketing, like blog posts, is crucial to avoid over-optimization issues. While including your target keyword, "SEO agencies Cardiff," is important for relevance and ranking, overusing it can appear unnatural to readers and search engines alike.
A good rule of thumb is to prioritize creating high-quality, informative content that genuinely engages your audience. Naturally incorporate variations of your target keyword and related terms throughout your blog posts, ensuring they flow seamlessly within the context of the content. This might include phrases like "Cardiff-based SEO firms" or "Top SEO companies in Cardiff."
Rather than focusing solely on keyword density, prioritize providing valuable insights, solving problems, and addressing your audience's needs. By doing so, you'll not only avoid over-optimization but also build trust and authority with your audience and search engines. Additionally, diversifying your content strategy with topics related to SEO, digital marketing, and Cardiff-specific insights can help broaden your reach and enhance your overall SEO strategy.

It's vital to maintain keyword density to avoid over-optimization. For "SEO agencies Cardiff," I'd recommend using variations and related terms in your blog posts. Perhaps include the keyword once every 3-4 posts, and focus more on providing valuable, engaging content that naturally incorporates these terms.
-
@sarahwalsh Thanks for posting a unique and meaningful question first of all. You need to understand that whenever users search for any keywords the Websites get ranked most of the time not the blogs until and unless there is a value in it for e.g. If you want to rank your blog for your targeted keyword then specific for you the topic would be top 10 SEO agencies in Cardiff and list down the list of agencies. To rank your website you can internal link your main keyword while writing a blog or any form of content link it to your landing page of a website.

SVG image files causing multiple title tags on page - SEO issue?
Does anyone have any experience with SVG image files and on-page SEO? A client is using them and it seems they use the title tag in the same way a regular image (JPG/PNG) would use an image ALT tag. I'm concerned that search engines will see the multiple title tags on the page and that this will cause SEO issues. Regular crawlers like Moz flag it as a second title tag, however it's outside the header and in a SVG wrap so the crawlers really should understand that this is a SVG title rather than a second page title. But is this the case? If anyone has experience with this, I'd love to hear about it.

Please review page for on page SEO
I'm working on an adult dating site review blog and am hoping to build links to the category pages. It's a wordpress blog so the posts are categorised by topics. However can you tell me if there is enough content on the page for google to identify what the page is about? The problem is that the content of each category pages is pulled from the posts. What I think is needed is some static text on the page 2-300 words that use the keyword. Here's an example of a page targeting the keywords 'online dating'. http://www.top-10-dating-reviews.com/category/online-dating/

Handling Deleted Pages
The backstory: My site has a fantasy sportsbook where users can place "bets" on pretty much anything. Each game has a unique matchup page, where the odds are displayed and any conversation about the game takes place. Example here. About 95% of the games are automatically graded, but I have to manually grade the rest. Therefore, as soon as every game starts I check to see if any users have made a pick on it, and if not I delete it because it reduces my workload. The problem: About 15% of my search-driven traffic is queries for games that no longer exist, which makes sense because nobody bets on the super obscure games and these games are very easy to rank for. I am currently redirecting them to my 404 page but I'm worried that all of these hits are hurting my reputation with the big G. Would it be better to noindex all of these pages at first and take the noindex away as soon as I'm positive that the game will stay?
