Ecommerce site content upgrade timescale.
-
I have been upgrading my sites content and structure and I have been wondering how long I should wait for a traffic increase before I should think it has been a failure and try a new plan of attack?

Thanks
My site is not huge about 3000 pages. We did some architecture upgrades and a bit of a design change and since then Google has hammered us! I cant see any reason for its and have been trying to find the issue and it is just taking ages to bounce back. we are also doing a content upgrade site wide and its having a slight effect but I think it may just be to little over the whole site to have an effect. my site is www.centralsaddlery.co.uk i would love to here any ideas or issues architecture wise. Its a long way of on content and the product pages could be better but we are being held back by an outdated CMS(new CMS is under construction). it just seems like all efforts are failing. if its just time and content that is the issue I can just keep working but i am worried there is a bigger problem lurking in the site architecture.

Lately my new content has been taking much longer than normal to start delivering traffic. This was concerning me so I decided to monitor some new pages. A year ago my site would throw new pages into competitive positions overnight. This is a long-established site.
For a keyword difficulty ot 45% I launched a new page on January 2. Here is the time scale for it moving up the SERPs with no linkbuilding.
January 3 - 150
January 17 - 113
January 31 - 82
February 10 - 37
February 20 - 29
March 2 - 29
March 15 - 18
March 29 - 12
April 6 - 10
April 18 - 8
So, I believe that google has become much slower to rank new pages - except those for keywords where accelerating search traffic creates urgency.

How large is your site? Make sure that your new content is being indexed by searching for it in Google, then wait a few weeks once the content has been indexed to see if it has had an impact on rankings.

Be brutily honest - What do you think of this old content?
My website reports on news relating to certain web hosting providers, and being hit by the latest phantom update a little I am looking back a little more harshly on some of my content with especially the older articles needing alot of work (I know some areas on the site need work), and there are some articles I am just not sure about. I have listed a few OLD articles below https://www.besthostnews.com/the-power-of-shared-web-hosting-by-bluehost/ https://www.besthostnews.com/siteground-sponsors-wordcamp-london/ https://www.besthostnews.com/free-ebook-guide-to-starting-a-website-on-a-budget-a-small-orange/ These are 3 old articles that I have previously updated several months ago, but are they good enough. Due to the nature of the site sometimes I will report on certain news \ features that a web host releases, and sometimes there is very little to write about. These are probably a good example where I feel there is a struggle to write enough or the quality is perhaps lower than something that has more information to report on. I would appreciate some harsh critical view points \ and perhaps suggestions on how to improve my writing style for these kind of generic style posts.

Is Publishing Content from a Book to your Site Considered Duplicate Content?
It is a book we don't own, either. Would you need to somehow find the original and rel=canonical it? Or is this just all around bad to do? Thanks.

Is framed content on another domain duplicate content?
I've read a number of articles and am getting opposing answers. I've been checking pages of Photo.net in copyscape for duplicate content. I'm finding a number of domains have the site iframed onto them. I was wondering why copyscape could read the content if the search engines supposedly didn't crawl iframes. Copyscape said Google can read the content. I just want to know if these sites need to remove the iframe (is it hurting Photo.net)? Thanks. Examples: http://www.copyscape.com/?q=http%3A%2F%2Fphoto.net%2Freviews%2F

Duplicate Page Content & Rel-Canonicals
The SEO Moz duplicate page content tool lists the following URL's as having duplicate content: http://www.savvyboater.com/1988-newer-8-tooth-15-hp-honda-outboard-props.aspx http://www.savvyboater.com/1988-newer-8-tooth-15-hp-honda-outboard-props.aspx?sort=PriceAsc&pi=2 The second URL is the price sorter/second page of the category and contains the following rel-canonical: | http://www.savvyboater.com/1988-newer-8-tooth-15-hp-honda-outboard-props.aspx"> Are we using the rel-canonical correctly in this case? If so, why does it continue to show up as duplicate content in our SEO Moz report? There are over 1,000 URLS listed in the report with the exact same issue. |

Is there a software that gives keyword density for primary and seconday keywords as content is written ?
What software do you recommend to write web content for a new website and then manage the same as the site gets older. I am looking for a software that can take a list of primary and secondary keywords - give the keyword density and have the ability to create internal links between pages.
