Content Writing for the Internal blog or guest posting on external blogs
-
Hi All
My question is If I am writing an informative article for quality content and to help attract visitors
Do I add the article to my own website and try to get visitors via link building or do I post the article as a Guest post on another website with links back to the relevant pages or should I do both and if so what % eg 50% blog posts and 50 % intenral posts
thanks in advance

Thanks Kane
I had been doing more offsite for my clients as their DA and PA is lower than the competitors but I am guessing as these improve the weight of onsite and offsite should balance out to be a bit more even. And as always it is something that needs to be monitored and worked on continuously.

There's no correct answer, it depends on your niche and situation. I have clients who refuse to have a blog on their website but have no problem posting the content elsewhere. I know other people who refuse to guest post and will only publish on their own site. Both approaches have their merits.
One approach is to publish content on your site that is relevant to your clients, and publish content on other websites that isn't as relevant to your clients. An example is an attorney who writes for a layman audience on their own website, but writes legal "thought leader" type content on industry websites.
Another approach I like is more focused on link equity. If your DA & homepage PA are lower than most of your competitors, try balancing your content creation both onsite and offsite for awhile. If you're the market leader you can get away with publishing more content on your own site since you don't need the link equity as much (though you may want to keep doing it for the value of any traffic that you get from posting elsewhere).

Does More Guest Posts Effect Website Rankings in a Negative Way?
Hello Everyone, On an average I am getting around 20 backlinks for 15 days. All these backlinks are done through proper outreach and guest posts in relevant websites. We have a team of four people doing only outreach and getting backlinks through proper guest posts. But I am worried on whether it will effect my website ranking in a negative way? Kindly get me clarified with my doubt. Should I continue this or should I reduce my numbers?

Getting links on old blog posts
There's 100 of blogs with posts that link to my competitors, but don't link to my site. They are mostly lists. Eg: "The best Sites to get blue widgets" I was thinking about getting in touch with these blogs, and asking them to take a look at my site, to see if perhaps they would add it to the list. In fact, I started doing it and I got some links already. Now I am starting to worry that Google could consider these links as unnatural, because, you know, the algos are not exactly perfect. Anyway, the links are important for the exposure anyway. I've two questions: 1. Is there any chance I'll be penalized? 2. May I get a SEO benefit from this links?

Been offered a no follow link on a blog post ?. Is it worth it ?
Hi All, We are having a go at doing our own link building and just wanted some advice on a couple of questions I've found some industry related blog sites which could be good but alot of them only offer a no follow link ?. Is this worth it ? And if ,so what is the advantage of having a no follow link ? as it won't directly help with our DA etc ? I've also noticed some of these sites link to each other or recommend each other (i.e other blog sites) which may be some sort of link network ?.. I take it this is bad ? and could be penalized by google ? thanks pete

Internal Link Building
For a large part of our SEO we have been focusing on inbound links (mainly from guest posts and blogger reviews). But our rankings have dropped (though I understand there is a natural fluctuation in rankings quite often) this week and it occurred to me that we should be focusing more on internal link building as well. We, of course, link often to our home page and have related products on every page but we lack a lot of direct key word links in in our description. Would it behoove us to be on a specific product page--take for example owls and friends wall decals--and somewhere in the description add something like "our nursery wall decals are safe for....and have "nursery wall decals" be the direct link since that is a key term for us? I just wanted to make sure that we are headed in the right direction before I spend a massive amount of time updating all these product pages. Any input would be really helpful. Thanks so much, Elizabeth

Host a wordpress blog as a folder or external site?
I've been speaking to our developers as I want to introduce a blog. My intention is to host the blog as part of our existing site, so the url becomes www.example.com/blog I have a personal wordpress blog and I love it, the amount of plugins, themes and ease of use makes it a fantastic platform. I spoke to my developers and requested if they could install Wordpress within a folder of our existing website. This gives me control to do plugins, custom themes etc. Straight forward I thought, but I didn't get a straight forward reply. They went on that it would require two linux php servers, a load balancer between them, and set up and configuration would take 5 days. Their day rates are high, so 5 days is a lot of money. This got me thinking, what if I hosted it externally and linked from our website, so the blog URL would be www.myblog.com This gives me the power to have a wordpress blog for cheap and use all the fantasic plugins to optimise the site (Yoast, Schema plugins etc). I know for SEO, it's better to host it as part of your existing site, the ranking juice remains in your area and it further helps strengthen the site. But then i'm thinking, if the wordpress stand alone blog works out, it will end up being a great external linker, further boosting my existing site's presense. Have any of you faced any similar problems? Thoughts?

BLogs
Hello, We wanted to start hosting our own blog and was wondering (long term) if we are using embedding links to our inner pages in our blog entries if it would be a problem with Google long term? We have a designer that suggestes a custome look to match the site, and leave the wordpress plugin. Should we continue to contribute to blogger, and wordpress (free) if we are hosting our own blog? How important is a branded blog name? We were going to host it and name it xxxxxx.com/ourblog Thanks so much!!

What impact do no follow links in blog comments have if any?
Hi I think we all agree that social network sites such as pintrest/instagram/twitter are all now no follow however I believe there is benefit in having them.... So I wondered if anyone had been experimenting with commenting on blogs which had no follow attributes and if there was any benefit in terms of improving your rankings?
