About Duplicate Content

if i share our blog to multiple document sharing site in form of pdf.it is spamming or not..?..if yes what is the drawback?
-
I'd tend to agree - you're basically putting out copies of your own content. Google can index those PDFs, which may end up looking like low-quality duplicates or some kind of article marketing. That could get you into Panda territory, or it could just devalue the content on your own site and boost the other sites.
It depends on the situation, but you'd almost be better off just syndicating the content as regular web-pages and then making sure it links back to you (or has a cross-domain rel=canonical). Otherwise, this spun off content is going to be seen as very low-value.

This is dangerous ground. While on the one hand when people pick up your content and re post this looks like you are an authority. On the other if it is a shared site and its goal is to inorganically spread the material Google will know. It works a lot like link farms. Google can spot that a mile away. If your content is good and people pick it up naturally than great. If the intent is to get back links for the exact content you are in dangerous panda waters. The other danger is to take your document and spin it. This is very black hat and almost guarantees being sand boxed. I do post some of my blog url's at Facebook and they get spread. Google sees this as natural. So in the end i would say to you to not do it. Write great content and let people pick it up naturally.

Other websites copy content and giving a link back
Hi, I've just noticed a few back links in Google Search Console, I was excited. But when I saw the backlinks, 2 other websites that had completely copied my content and then gave a backlink to my website. Is this bad for SEO and would google penalise my website for this?

Ugh content! I don't get it
Everyone on this website says the proper way to build links is with great content. I don't get that because I am trying to build links for a classified ads website and there is no "great content" for any of the classified ads websites. None of them have blogs or any content other than the stuff people are selling. When I look at my competitors inbound links using open site explorer, they are all junk. Most of the links listed in open site explorer are dead /broken links and the ones that are not dead links are spammy, low quality links including many link exchanges. So, I don't get the "great content to build links" route because in my vertical it's not being done. Suggestions on how to build links in this situation?

Where would we get the most bang for the buck? Fresh Content, Internal Links, or Schemas & Metatags
We cannot change the content on our website. And we have a lot of it. Where would we get the most bang for our buck: Adding lots of fresh content; Linking Content Internally in ways that make the relationship between the content more clear; Creating schemas and metatags for the content. Or something else that we haven't thought of. Our content is not really conducive to social. It is legal information. We have a Domain Authority of 61 / 100 Your help and experience is appreciated.

Content Marketing and Link Building Strategy in Industrial B2B
We struggle link building because engineering sector has few blogs and is much more traditional than many industries. I've just had a new idea on how to do this and wanted to bounce it off people to help refine it and improve it. Search LinkedIn for "content marketing" or similar Refine by Industry etc Ask people on resulting list to guest post on our blog - which is focused on engineers in our sector Then..... For us it boosts our blog content with high quality posts that are interesting for our audience and maybe some traffic benefit. For them it provides SEO benefits and possibly some market exposure. How can I parlay this into getting a link back as well? What else can I do to make it more effective? Cheers Denis

Backlinks from archived content? SEO penalty?
I'm curious, if I go to webmasters and suggest a change to an article in their archives (convincing them that the new link offers more value to their readers), how would Google look at that? It seems to me that if a two-year-old article all of a sudden gets a new link, it might look fishy, and might even bring penalties with it. Thoughts?

Many competitor's backlinks are in content anchor links. Ho do I get these same links?
Hi I managed to open up OSE. I'm finding that much of the competition's backlinks are in content anchor text links. Am I supposed to get backlinks from these same pages using the same anchor text but linking back to my page or is that allowed? If so, how do I get these in content blog post links? Thanks. Sunil.

Any good content sites with good quality links?
I have some content which is still relevant and interesting but not really suitable for my current websites. I have been thinking of using this on an article site to generate some links back to my sites, but I am wary about this due to Google's targeting of content sites. I currently have good PR's on Squidoo and Hubpages which link back and work quite well. Can anyone suggest any others or any ideas how to use this content for SEO purposes? Is using it for article submissions to get links short sited?
