Placing backlinks on foreign websites.
-
Hey community,
What are your thoughts about placing backlinks on for example www.advertisment.de
when you've got a dutch website. Is it better to link to website that are from the same country?
-
Hi there,
Link building is about earning popularity and authority endorsements by your audience --as a consequence of having effectively connected with them, they have found your site, services and products useful--, so if your Website is targeted to a specific audience in a country then, although is true that search engines will also take into consideration links from any other sources, what is natural and consistent with your site targeting, is that these links come from the country audience that the site is targeting.
In order to implement this, identify which are the most popular sites, blogs, media in your industry for that country --and in general for that country too--, who are linking to your competitors in that country, who are your industry influencers in that country too... by doing this you will likely better understand and identify a scalable link building strategy to better connect with your audience in that specific country.
I hope this helps!

It's all about quality backlinks. Country does not matter.

Yes absolutely makes sense to get links from the same TLD as your website to show more relevance for that country.

Blog post outreach for backlinks
Hi all, My understanding of obtaining backlinks by way of blogpost outreach is that it's best to include several outbound links to related high domain websites within blog post copy (as well as a link to the website you're marketing, obviously) such as this post https://www.scoopearth.com/why-should-you-use-royalty-free-music-for-youtube-videos/ or this one https://small-bizsense.com/how-to-create-quality-content-for-your-business/. However, I've recently read a few articles that suggest that from a human perspective only having one clear link in the copy, such as this post https://www.clichemag.com/entertainment/movies/the-benefits-of-royalty-free-cinematic-music-for-your-videos/, increases the chance of the reader visiting the site in question. I guess the thinking is that if there's only one link to be clicked on it increases the chances of click-thru, as opposed to the reader possibly clicking on another external link that's only there because of current SEO advice. So is it best to follow SEO guidelines and include several outbound links within guest blog posts, or is it better to only have the one link to your client's site (to focus the readers attention on it)?

Backlinks coming from websites we've built - Good or bad?
Hi everyone, I'm just doing a backlink audit of our newly relaunched site and saw that we have about 9,000 backlinks. Unfortunately, we have neglected our own link building. About 8,000+ of these links are from the websites we have built - sitewide footer links. These are also exact match anchor texts i.e. website by Bambrick Media. Because of that, our referring domain is only at 200+. Is this bad practice? Should we keep these backlinks / keep doing this for future sites we build? We feel like our backlink profile, the above in particular, is affecting our rankings and traffic. We're not ranking very well for our keywords. Compared to our competitors who have a quarter or less of the backlinks we have, they're ranking better, have more organic keywords, and are getting more organic traffic. Thanks in advance.

HTTPS websites in Directories
Hi Everyone, Whilst trying to submit some client sites to directories we have been struggling to post any of our clients sites that use the HTTPS protocol. When trying to submit they usually come up with an error stating that the website could not be found etc. It doesn't accept it if I remove the HTTPS or replace it with the HTTP version either. Any ideas, or has anyone else had any issues with this? Couldn't find much information about it online anywhere. Thanks 🙂

Redirecting broken backlink to my site
Hello guys, I found an expired domain with inbound links from 41 different root domains, almost all of them from relevant sources. I have 2 ideas in my mind: A) I am thinking about buying this expired domain and place a 301 redirect to a post in my blog who talks about a similar subject.Relevance: let's say the content of the expired domain is about "horses wallpapers" and the content of my site is about "horse transport". Not the same, but a post in my blog could talk about "top 10 horse wallpapers". Do you see what I mean? B) Contact all the webmasters with broken links, alert them and expect they are nice and place a nice link to the post in my blog talking about "top 10 horse wallpapers". What do you think? Should I take A or B? Any other idea? I added a picture with the Domain Rank of the broken links 🙂 Thanks a lot !!! Luis V1LZBC3

Broken Backlinking
I'm curious for those who have used broken backlinking as a tactic for clients - what % of emails do you normally get results from. For example, if you email 100 webmasters, how many would actually replace the broken link with yours?
