Moz keywords tool obsolete?
-
It looks like Google is going to encrypt all user searches, rendering entire sections of SEO tools useless like portions of Moz. What's Moz's reaction to something like this?
-
Did I misread the article?
How will this affect Google's keyword planner data?
We appear to be picking up momentum in the direction of pay-to-play.

You will still be able to get search query information through Google Webmaster Tools, and you can link that to both Google Analytics and AdWords to see reports for organic query matches in either of those platforms. I have found the Webmaster Tools query reports to be less accurate than the Google Analytics search term report, but if the Analytics report is only going to display "not provided", the Webmaster Tools query report is a working, albeit slightly inferior, alternative.

I think that although this is a 'big deal' it's not as terrible as it sounds. Of course it is harder to show how your work has had a direct impact through precise keywords but there's so much more that can be measured other than just keywords. If this industry can adapt and continue after major updates such as Penguin I'm pretty sure this won't cause a collapse, some tools will become less important/ useable but there will soon be others along to replace them I'm sure.

I wouldn't overly worry yet. The SEO industry and various tools will adapt, like they have adapted to everything else.
I believe I read somewhere that data (or at least some of it) is still available to adwords customers, and of course there is data from bing etc.
There is bound to be a bit of a reaction now, but as people adapt it will soon be business as usual.

Keyword explorer and relevancy
Hello, In the keyword explorer when I group keywords by lexical similarity should I only choose keywords that have a high relevancy to my seed keyword (the one I typed and want to rank on ? Let me give you an example. Let's say my seed keyword (the one I want to rank on) is "Alsace bike tours. With the keyword explorer I group the keywords and find the group " cycling in Alsace" (ok I take that one because it relevant to "Alsace bike tours" then I find "Strasbourg to Colmar by bike" I also take this one because it is also relevant to "alsace bike tours" but what about concepts like "Alsace wine region", Alsatian architecture, wines of Alsace, cuisine of Alsace or prettiest villages in Alsace... should I totally dismiss those from my content because they aren't relevant to my keyword "Alsace bike tours" or is it ok to use them but it won't help me at all ? Thank you,

Keyword explorer tool - keywords by domain functionality
Hi, We have issues with the new searching for keywords by root domain functionality in keyword explorer. We are based in Australia and need rankings for google.com.au, which is what we have set up within our MOZ campaign ranking reports. The explorer tool rankings are way off and not accurate for our site's actual rankings. Also, many of the top, high volume keywords that we are tracking and for which we rank on first page for are not even appearing when I do an explorer search using our root domain. Is the root domain functionality within keyword explorer providing results based on google.com rather than google.com.au? Does this mean that if we are outside the US that we can't use the tool as it is not accurate? Cheers, Damien

Moz's on-page grader
Hello, I am having an issue with Moz's on-page grader. Grading the page, http://www.babyklar.dk/tigerspring/26-ugers-springet.html for the keyword 'Tigerspring 26 uger' I am receiving the error message: 'Exact keyword is used in page title' - tagging it as a highly important but easy fix. But I only have the words "Tigerspring 26 uger" in the title, so how can this not grade as Exact keyword? Is there somthing wrong with the system? Or is it me? Thanks very much. Best regards

Moz Report: Number of Domains linking to Domain
In the Moz report, what does the "number of domains linking to domain" indicate? I'm analyzing our competitors link profile and noticed some numbers as high as 2369232? Is there a form that explains the reports a little more in detail? Thanks,

Moz Dupe content crawl anomaly
Hi Moz has completed a crawl for a site i'm working on which also has a development area (hence with lots of dupe content) on a sub domain (and this dev area hasn't been hidden from crawlers via password, robots, gwt etc etc). Moz dupe content report is not showing any of these urls though even though my campaign setting is on 'root' domain so i would have thought report should be listing the subdomain urls as dupe content (because they are dupe content). Any ideas ? Cheers Dan
