I agree with EGOL,
and my crystal ball is on the fritz it keeps fading in and out so I cannot tell you if you are going to lose your job in the future that is kind of a little bit out there are you being serious?
EGOL did a top notch job answering your question and you should take everything he said to heart.
It is only going to get more complex if you want to keep your job and do exactly as was stated keep up on everything join services like Moz this is one step closer to being able to understand what is going to occur in this industry. Attend conferences MozCon, SearchLove & SMX you will be able to network with fellow SEO's and learn far more than I ever thought I would by attending their truly worth the time.
Join team treehouse if you not know how to code learn. Join distilled.net/U you will have some goals when you think about the time taking forever you will know that the continued to keep adding new modules so you could learn more about different events that have occurred in online marketing so they are always up to date.
I suggest you stay up-to-date because as was referenced before if you do not you will fail to give your customers the best service possible and they will get angry the whole thing will not end well.
I believe that the Internet is the biggest thing to happen to my generation I am 35 years of age and my great-grandmother lived from the time of the flight of the Wright brothers until the space shuttle that is a pretty big change in one area aviation.
Do I think anyone at Kitty Hawk could have predicted what the future of flight would be probably not as well as one would have to in order to know if their point keep their job in search in 2014 considering you are old enough to read and write you most likely fall into the category of the Internet is the biggest thing that ever happened to your generation.
No I do not think that search will live forever based on this I think our planet will not substantially life after a very long time a few billion years give or take 5 billion or could be over tomorrow I do not know, but I do know people are not helping things.
Respectfully,
Thomas

Fifteen years ago almost anyone could toss up a website, slap ads on it and make a little money. Lots of people discovered that and started cranking out websites. Some people grew their business into large companies and did that work at scale. Companies who were already large heard about that and sent large teams of employees into the fight.
As this happened the competition became smarter, more fierce and more powerful. It is exactly like traditional warfare where people first started attacking with sticks and stones, then armies with arrows and swords wiped them out, then armies with muskets and cannons wiped them out, then airplanes, bombers, rockets and look where we are today.
The skills, resources and smarts needed to succeed in website competition today are far greater than what was needed 15 years ago, 10 years ago or even just 5 years ago.
i mean will seo live forever ?
As long as search engines are used to discover websites, SEO will probably be important.
Will i loose my seo job ?
Maybe you will. Maybe you will not. If your company has been changing their methods as competitors evolve and search engines become more picky then your company might survive. In the past couple of years, panda, penguin and other types of search engine efforts to eliminate websites that they don't like have significantly changed how SEO must be done. If the websites of your clients are being hammered by these then your company might not succeed. They have to change from old SEO methods to new SEO methods that depend mainly upon quality websites and quality content. If your company can't do that then you might lose your job.
Again, it is like traditional warfare. Armies with smart generals who know how to do battle and how to adapt to the advancements of their enemies will have the best chance of survival. However, even if they are the smartest general around, if they don't have the resources to compete their army will be overwhelmed.
Pay attention to the success of your company's clients. If they are struggling then you might want to change employers. If you are a smart and ambitious person who is good at code and good at writing then you might be able to survive personally by going to another company where the general is smart, adapts with vigor, enforces quality standards strictly and has clients who are having success.
Learn as much as you can so you are personally a valuable asset. Improve your coding, improve your writing skills and pay attention to news about search.
Good luck.

Domain Masking SEO Impact
I hope I am explaining this correctly. If I need to provide any clarity please feel free to ask. We currently use a domain mask on an external platform that points back to our site. We are a non-profit and the external site allows users to create peer-to peer fundraisers that benefit our ministry. Currently we get many meta issues related to this site as well as broken links when fundraisers expire etc. We do not have a need to rank for the information from this site. Is there a way to index these pages so that they are not a part of the search engine site crawls as it relates to our site?

Is Removing Breadcrumbs Detrimental for SEO?
We have full navigational breadcrumbs on our site for the menu and the brand menu. i.e. Home > Clothing > Jackets Brand > Brand Name > Brand Jackets There's been talk of removing this and having it like Chico's does, where on item pages they just have a link at the top to previous category (i.e. you're on a shirt product page and at the top it says "Back to Tops" instead of listing Home > Clothing > Tops) Is doing something like this detrimental to SEO? From what I've read Breadcrumbs are for user experience but I just want to be sure.

Badges & SEO
Hello, Moz Community! We're working on creating an affiliate badge for events that make our best-of list and we're wondering: if every event website embedded the badge (could be as many as 70), would having the same image hosting URL for each one raise concerns with Google? Thanks!

Free Joomla SEO Extension?
Hi all -- all along, I have used Tag Meta as a super simple Joomla extension to manage page titles. The most recent Joomla site I manage is using K2. The Tag Meta extension will install, but something with K2 is overriding the page titles that I put in. Thus, I am simply looking for a free (if at all possible) Joomla extension that will allow me to enter unique page titles for each page of the site without changing the Joomla page title of each page. Or, if anyone has had the same problem, I'm looking for a solution to make Tag Meta and K2 play nice. Any suggestions?

Keywords and content and seo advice please
Hi i am building a site at the moment which i am working on. please ignore the state of the site as we are just playing with designs at the moment but please do take notice of the top part. The site is a travel magazine but i am a bit concerned. The keywords that we will be looking at to drive travel will be as follows, cheap flights gatwick, holiday magazine and travel magazine. Now i do not want the site to look untidy with loads of content describing the site but at the same time i want google to know what the site is and for people to pick the site up with the search terms that we are aiming for. the site is www.cheapflightsgatwick.com Can anyone please show me some examples of how i should structure the site to attract the keywords and give me some advice. It seems hard when you are designing a magazine site where the content changes all the time to try and attract the search engines with your keywords. any advice would be great
