What is Followed Linking Root Domains ?
-
Is it to just have different URLs pointing to my site? I understand that if 1 site posts 5 of my URLs, it only counts as 1. I am just not understanding how I increase this number if link building is now frowned up. Thoughts?

sounds like no one knows what is it. Moz. can you explain in more clarity please.
-
What is "the first number" you are referring to? "10", "5", or "15"
-
Moz's help page here states: "The number of domains with at least one followed link to any page on the root domain."
Example: Say that website A has ten links to your site and website B has five links to your site. This means that you have two domains that have a total of 15 links to your site. "Followed linking root domains" refers to the first number. The "followed" part means that the other websites have not applied "nofollow" to the links.
The whole topic of linkbuilding and link earning is very big and complicated, so I'll refer you to this category of Moz posts and guides to peruse at your leisure. The general rule today is to "earn" links rather than "build" them -- meaning that you should use social media, content, public relations and more to get others to give you links rather than you building the links yourself.
I hope that helps!

Internal Linking - Post links vs Side Bar Links behaving differently
Hi, I have a question regarding the internal linking behavior. My website is www.hindimeaning.com which is approx 3 years old. I have approx 450 posts. Now i have a widget on right sidebar "Popular posts". A widget below my posts "Related Posts". And a simple html CSS menu above the posts (I removed menu around 6 month before so currently it will not show.) I crawled my site with moz crawler (same are the result from google crawler as well) and it shows menus links as internal links. While sidebar widget "Popular posts" and "Related Posts" are not showing as internal links. If we talk theoretically what i learn till now is "every link on a page behaves as internal link". Then why the widget links are not showing as internal links. Thanks, Mahesh Kumar

Domain Authority
I am very new to SEO. I've built a dog grooming website for a business that my wife and I have established. www.petsalonbarkavenue.com When I try and check the metrics out, it keeps showing I have a 1 on page authority, and a 1 on domain authority. When I check a competitors site, they have certain anchor text that Moz has identified. I am pretty certain that our business is listed on the same directory as this competitor, yet Moz doesn't identify my site's anchor text. Am I doing something wrong? or is my site so new, that Moz hasn't been able to find it? Craig

How much time does it take for the links to be forwarded to redirected link?
Hi there,
Link Building | | MoeezLodhi
Thank you for taking out some time for this question; I have changed the permalinks last week for a website.. I forgot to redirect old permalinks to the new one.. So I did 301 redirection, it has been 4-5 days since I did that but the links are not forwarded to the new Permalink so far.
How much time should I wait for the links to be forwarded to the new permalinks? Secondly, I am sure I have done the 301 redirect correctly, as when I go to the old url / permalink it directs me to the new permalink. So I am sure 301 is done correctly. Do I need to submit the sitemap again?0 -
Link Detox and Link Removal
I have a question about which links to remove after running a link detox from Link Research Tools. First a little back story. I had had an SEO company link building for one of the websites I own. But I have recently stopped working with them. In the last month my rankings have near dropped off the charts. I have just recently gotten access to Google webmaster tools and noticed an unnatural link warning from back in March. So yesterday I ran link detox and it reported 19 toxic links, 120 suspicious links, and 24 healthy links. It's rather obvious that I should remove all of the toxic links. They all from sites that have been deindexed by google. But my question is a about the suspicious links. What should my criteria be for removing them? Am I better off removing them all and leaving my site with only 24 healthy links or should I personally comb through them and remove only the worst of the worst so that I leave my site with a few more links? I'd really like to get the site ready to resubmit to google as soon as I can. Thoughts? yyCOf.png

Publish content on current domain for content boost or new domain for links?
I have about 1000 unique and organically generated articles. My quote compare business has had briefs submitted by clients for over two years. The content has only been accessible to registered members. I want to polish it ASAP. Is it better to publish the content on the existing website in a sub folder or set up a new website to publish the content and have every article link back to the main website? Content is around 300 words x 1000.

Too many external links vs linking root domains - good or bad?
Hi guys, After the latest Linkscape update, we noticed that our website have 424,671 external links with 4,395 linking root domains, so roughly 100 links/domain. Does Google consider this to be a negative thing or we do not need to worry about it. Many thanks. David

9306 inbound links but onle 143 root domains?
I need help with my link building efforts so I have started to search around for companies and/or freelance contractors to hire. I always ask for examples of sites they are working on. In many cases the number of inbound links are high (9306) compared to the number of root domains that are linked to (143). Or as in this sample (120792) inbound links compared to (157) linking domains http://www.shortsalesafe.com. How can this be? To me the only logical answer is "link farms" or some other form of black hat magic. Am I right in my assumption, or is there another logical answer for so many links with so few linking domains.? Thanks Gary

So I ran into a site that was not ranking 4 days ago and has over 2 million links to it on some keywords. My guess is this is a link bomb, but the issue is this is pushing one of my sites down. Does anyone know a good way to over come a bomb like this?
So I ran http://www.riogrande.com/ into this site not that long ago and wanted to see if any other SEO's have an opinion on it. I've seen a Google bomb before, but the amount of links going into this URL is insane. The thing is how does one over come a Google Bomb? Do you just wait to see what Google does or do you just hope to rank under that URL? I should also note that it appears that all the keywords to it are relevant to the sites content. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks
