With so many articles on the web talking about how difficult Joomla is to work with in regards to SEO, I'm curious as to what techniques / changes you guys make when using Joomla with your SEO / inbound practices? Any extensions that you love? An extensions that you hate?

Joomla SEO is indeed a tough game mostly because most of changes that you need to make on the website require development skill to an extent.
If you are in to Joomal SEO here are the following things that you should consider as important.
- Choosing the right Server
This is not really important for Joomla but any kind of website if you are not on the right kind of server you might see some big fluctuations in rankings as soon as your server goes down and all. The best idea in this regard is to choosing the right kind of SEO and go from there accordingly.
- WWW to non-WWW redirect
Especially with Joomla but true for other CMS as well you need to choose one preferred version and redirect all the URLs so that there will be no duplicate content issue on the website. Make sure your website is displaying one kind of URL that is either with WWW or without WWW version.
- URL Rewriting
When using Joomla set YES to “USE URL rewriting” in order to create Search Engine friendly URLs as by default the URLs are messy and might not understand by Google which have a direct impact on rankings.
- Include /images/ in Google index
When using Joomla as your CMS, usually the robots.txt excludes images from the search engine index. Make sure you are removing /images/ from the robots/txt file so that your images can include in the Google image index and rank accordingly.

I would recommend you to use Marks post as a checklist and make sure that you are on the right track when it comes to search engine optimization.

Do I need multiple 301s to preserve SEO
Many years ago I created website www.original.com. Two years ago I redirected website www.original to www.neworiginal.comusing 301 redirects. I have now created www.rebranded.com. I want to maintain all SEO value. Should I redirect both www.original.comand www.new original.com to www.rebranded.com? Or do I only need to redirect one of them and if only one which one? If I need only to redirect one can I delete the other, why or why not. Of course the url are fictitious. I truly appreciate your help

SEO on dynamic website
Hi. I am hoping you can advise. I have a client in one of my training groups and their site is a golf booking engine where all pages are dynamically created based on parameters used in their website search. They want to know what is the best thing to do for SEO. They have some landing pages that Google can see but there is only a small bit of text at the top and the rest of the page is dynamically created. I have advised that they should create landing pages for each of their locations and clubs and use canonicals to handle what Google indexes.Is this the right advice or should they noindex? Thanks S

What can you do about negative SEO?
We have a list of 240 domains (look exactly the same) linking to our site for a certain keyword. over 3000 links in total. It means that 50% of our keywords are this keyword and it's not a branded keyword which can affect us in the long term. I have done a WHOIS search and found a name, email and number. Vikas Kumar. I linkedin searched him and found his "legit" SEO site which has EXACTLY the same registration details as the spam sites. I emailed him and he said it would cost 5$ a link removal. I phoned him and he DENIED these emails. He then denied owning these sites etc. We have disavowed them but the anchor text % is still affecting us. Is there anything we can do? I know negative SEO isn't illegal but it's really frustrating. Anyone else had any problems with this type of thing?

SEO friendly blog.
i've read somewhere that if you list too many links/articles on one page, google doesn't crawl all of them. In fact, Google will only crawl up to 100 links/articles or so. Is that true? If so, how do I go about creating a page or blog that will be SEO friendly and capable of being completely crawled by google?

Mobile SEO
Hey, In the following article, Google recommended using a 301 redirect but doesn't specify why. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/making-websites-mobile-friendly.html I assume this is to pass over link equity to the relevant mobile/desktop variation. Can anyone confirm this? Also is there any other reason? Again assuming this would keep the correct URLs in the correct index? Anything else anyone can chip in would be great. Thanks
