Moz gives me an A, Goggle completely ignores
-
I'm sure this type of question gets asked a lot, but I need some help here.
Site: www.lodgmate.com
We sell hotel supplies. Site has been active over a year. It has never been listed by Google for term "hotel supplies", at all.
Have run numerous analytics, including Moz. While not perfect, no major flags. Moz gives the page an "A" for "hotel supplies", but none of the search engines return this site for that term.
Did have an issue with too many key words, but that has since been corrected. Have never engaged in any questionable SEO tactics.
I can understand not placing high in search, but not at all?? What's wrong?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Like others have said I can't find any links to your site. All three of Opensiteexplorer, ahrefs and Majesticseo show 0 links to http://www.lodgmate.com/.
You are being indexed by Google, so that's a start but you need to at least have some sort of link profile to start ranking. You may want to start social profiles even if they have only a couple posts on them, just to get some links pointed at your site. These links are generally of pretty low value but they may help to get you to rank at all.
Also I noticed that your homepage has a canonical setup to http://www.lodgmate.com/default.asp which should probably be reversed so that http://www.lodgmate.com/default.asp has a canonical to http://www.lodgmate.com/. It looks like google is ignoring the canonical anyways, but it's still probably a good idea.

mhans,
You should note that Moz's On Page Grades focus primarily on relevancy issues, rather than authority issues. You may be highly relevant to a term (get a grade of "A") and still not show up in the first hundreds of results if the authority of the page is substantially less than that of the pages you are competing against.
Take some time to review the off page factors of the pages that show up at the top of the search results for "hotel supplies" and compare them to yours. You can use Open Site Explorer's "compare pages" feature to plug in some of those competitor, along with your page to see how they stack up an what sorts of off page signals you may need to focus on in order to catch up with them.

Hi there,
The site looks new? How long has this been live? I've tried finding data, but, couldn't really find anything.
If the site is new and recently indexed, your on-page grade may reflect an A which is great news, however, you will have to go through the indexing process before entering in at all.
Secondly, you really need to also think about your off-page efforts. Remember, you will need quality inbound links from third party sites to drive link equity which is a huge factor in the ranking algorithm.
Work on producing exceptional content and post them up on your blog and share them on social networks. If you haven't set up Facebook/Twitter/Google+ it's high time you did, these can be great for building brand reputation, sharing your blog content with the end result of attracting quality links if your content is good enough.
Be patient with indexation, you will not fall to the first page overnight. Spend your time structuring the site correctly and then work on the off-site efforts by producing AWESOME content and sharing it with others - if the content hits the spot, the links will follow.
In the meantime to get the link equity ball rolling, maybe look at some niche blogs with good traffic and see if you can write for them some real good value-added content for their blog with a link back to you.
Good luck!

Moz/Google does not recognize text on Wix website
My client's website was built on Wix and despite having substantial content on web pages, Moz is claiming that there is very little-to-no content: Sufficient Characters/Words in Content. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I've run a word count tool and it gives the same results. Website: pesclinical.com

How reliable / current is Moz spam score at should I disavow?
Hey Mozzers, I'm just analysing a website's back link profile, and there are around 15 sites that link with a Moz spam score of 8 and above. I'm inclined to just go straight in and disavow these websites, even though some are industry relevant. But before I do, what are your thoughts around the reliability of Moz's spam score, and disavowing a site if above a particular score (8 and above). Thanks!

Basic SERP report does really gives me useful information?
Hi There! Ive seen so many times in the Basic SERP report, that pages/domains with low values are at the TOP of the SERP report, and i dont really understand that why can this be? But still dont understand why i see so many times that other domain/pages with lower values are at the top? On the attached screenshot, i am in the 12th position... Thx E. serp_report.jpg

GWT giving me 404 errors based on old and deleted site map
I'm getting a bunch of 404 crawl errors in my Google Webmaster Tools because we just moved our site to a new platform with new URL structure. We 301 redirected all the relevant pages. We submitted a new site map and then deleted all the site maps to the old website url structure. However, google keeps crawling the OLD urls and reporting back the 404 errors. It says that the website is linking to these 404 pages via an old outdated sitemap (which if you goto shows a 404 as well, so it's not as if Google is reading these old site maps now). Instead it's as if Google has cached the old sitemap but continues to use it to crawl these non-existent pages. Any thoughts?

Link Building Stragedy can anyone please give me advice
my site is www.in2town.co.uk Hi i hear a lot about having a linking structure in place and a linking stragedy but i am not really sure what i need to do even though i have spent months reading about it. What i have been trying to do is to link as many of the pages within my site to the home page and i am now looking at linking pages in my site to around my site to different pages, just like <cite>en.wikipedia.org</cite> So when i have a story on cheryl cole, i will make sure that i link from that story to another story i have on cheryl cole etc. But i would like to know what else i need to do. For my home page i want to rank for the following keywords Lifestyle magazine Lifestyle news celebrity news celebrity gossip showbiz news soap spoilers I would also love suggestions for other keywords i should be aiming for, for the home page. I find it hard as my site is a magazine site, so i do not have many places to put a description of each page of the site, so i would love some help on this and advice what i can do to let google know what my site is about. If anyone can help with putting a linking stragedy in place and what things i should be doing to increase my ranking for important keywords, then that would be great many thanks

Search snippet ignors title tag :-(
Good Morning from 1 degrees C light drizzle Wetherby UK 😉 Ok here is todays puzzle. When I Google "Great Inns" ( http://www.greatinns.co.uk ) I get a search snippet which looks like this: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/great-inns-title-glitch.jpg As the screen grab illustrates the Title tag is missing and simply says untitled. So my questions is pleased why is google rendering this when in the source code there is a tag eg: <title>Great Inns of Britain - Home – Independent, Historic Inns, Quality Service Any insights welcome :-)</p></title>

Why won't the Moz plug in "Analyze Page" tool read data on a Big Commerce site?
We love our new Big Commerce site, just curious as to what the hang up is.
