Hi, I'm looking to find out why a google+ account that was rarely used has 10,000 views. I want to discover what sites it is linked to. I entered the page url but no joy. can anyone help?
-
I would like to find out where all this traffic is coming from. It is most likely from an out of date sales site etc, but it's important to find out as it could be the result of hacking etc. It appears the page is linked to another site and I would like to find out which one(s) Entering the page url is not getting results, can anyone help?

Profiles like that tend to be used by spammers etc. you can tell by lack of activity, profile picture is used to heck it could be getting views from other sources used by spammers etc. stumble upon or Fivverr etc. I wouldn't worry too much about it, its not a legit profile. On top of this the view count is only a rough indicator. I also don't know if bots raise the view count everyday etc.
Sorry I couldn't get the exact reason but confidant its not legit.

Thanks for the response pixelbypixel! I appreciate all the options you posted. Unfortunately entering the google+ url gets the answer "It looks like we haven't discovered established link data for this URL yet." or in other search sites it says "there are no results for your query". https://plus.google.com/u/0/102703806095640640425/posts is the url I have entered. I would understand this not getting any results due to the lack of activity, but I cannot understand getting no results when the vewcount is rising every day.
Have you any ideas of what I may be doing wrong?

Hi Erin thanks for your reply! Apologies for my lack of clarity on the original post. The Google+ profile in question has over 11,000 views, with a thousand in the last week. All I can think of is that maybe my profile is linked to an external site, and that people are clicking on the profile from the external site.
However, I am at a loss to know whether there are other potential reasons the view count should be so high.

Hi Denverish, thanks for your reply! It is a personal Google+ profile. I have a custom url but it is not returning any results in the Moz search. It has received over a thousand extra views over the last week yet I have no explanation as to where these views are coming from.

I believe you are trying to work out the views ( http://imgur.com/XXiyLxI ) those views do not mean that it has a lot of links it could mean its been shared one or old and thus viewed a lot. Unfortunately you won't be able to find out much on the views but you can find out how that account has been linked to by entering its url e.g. https://plus.google.com/+SEOmoz into OSE or Majestic seo or Ahrefs and TA DA! you can find the links but links have no real coloration with views
You can however use this site to find out shared etc. http://www.sharedcount.com/ e.g. http://www.sharedcount.com/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fplus.google.com%2F%2BSEOmoz%2Fposts
Hope that helps, if not let us know what you need and i'm sure we can hep

Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out! My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help Team. I think I need more information to help you troubleshoot this. Do you mean to say that the G+ Page has 10,000 like? Or 10,000 linked to it? Are you seeing this information somewhere in your campaign?
Once we have more information, we should be able to help you troubleshoot this further!
Cheers,
Erin

Hi there, thanks for your question! Is this a personal Google+ profile or a brand page? Either way, does it have a custom URL? (That is, plus.google.com/+YourPageOrProfileName.)
-
Oh, my bad...I read "web page" rather than "google + account". I'll have to leave that for someone else to answer 'cause I'm not sure how you would measure that.
-
Thanks for your answer Chris. I have tried copying the url from my google plus profile but it doesn't get me any results. Is this the wrong url to enter?
-
go to open site explorer and enter the address of the site in question. The report will give the websites that are linking to your domain. Keep in mind that just because a site hasn't been used in some time doesn't mean there can't be traffic going to it. I'd also recommend installing Google analytics on the site so you can get a more granular idea of where the traffic is coming from.

How do I interpret Duplicate Content in a Crawl Report, when it only gives me a URL? How do I know what is duplicated on that page somewhere else?
I need help interpreting the Crawl Report for Duplicate Content. It gives me the URLs of pages that have duplicate content, but how do I know what content exactly is duplicated elsewhere? And how do I figure out where it is duplicated? Also, are there Moz Analytics articles or videos teaching you how to use each component of the analytics programs? Thanks!

Duplicate Pages...where are both URLs?
Just ran my Site Crawl Report...which was awesome! But It says there are over 50 Duplicate Content Pages, and the list of links only shows the PAGE that is supposedly "duplicate content"...but where is the other URL that these pages are duplicates of? Would be nice to be able to double-check if it is in fact duplicate and decide which to edit. Pls help! Thanks Moz!
