Blog on server or embedded? Duplicate content?

Wondering what would be best in terms of SEO. Should I install some blog software actually on the website or can I just embed say a blogger.com blog? if I did that would they consider it duplicate content?

Hi

I would install it on part of your site so example.com/blog if possible, if you have to put it on a sub domain that is not as good, but still better than trying to embed (i.e. blog.example.com).

We use wordpress and is very easy to use, never used blogger so don't know what can and cant be done, but we was about to install wordpress on our server.

Outsourcing Blog Articles

I have two businesses, one is my main bread and butter and the other is an invest and try to grow type of business. This second business is a nature / education related business, so I would like to have a repository of informative nature articles with some splashes of our experience with that particular plant or animal. I spend a lot of time on SEO and article writing on my main business, but I am running out of myself to go around. I would like to outsource article / blog writing on my second businesses, but I'm not sure where to start. If I use one of those work for hire sites in the Moz outsourced content article, can I get them to format the blog with photos as well. I need to have a complete as possible final product. Ideally, I'm thinking of this process: 1. Give the outsourced writer the subject matter (i.e. article about right whales) 2. I provide my own photography or photos I have purchased 3. Writer researches subject matter and writes an informative article 4. Writer logs into my blog and formats the article with interesting fonts and the photos I have provide 5. I edit the article to add my own experience with the subject matter 6. I publish the article I'm thinking I would do this twice a month. Is this a reasonable thing to outsource? Could it work this way? Any idea what an article like this might cost me? I'm doing some marketing budget planning. Thanks in advance!

Duplicate Content - But it isn't!

Hi All, I have a site that releases alerts for particular problem/events/happenings. Due to legal stuff we keep the majority of the content the same on each of these event pages. The URLs are all different but it keeps coming back as duplicate content. Googlebot indexing URL's with ? queries in them. Is this Panda duplicate content?

I feel like I'm being damaged by Panda because of duplicate content as I have seen the Googlebot on my site indexing hundreds of URL's with ?fsdgsgs strings after the .html. They were beign generated by an add-on filtering module on my store, which I have since turned off. Googlebot is still indexing them hours later. At a loss what to do. Since Panda, I have lost a couple of dozen #1 rankings that I've held for months on end and had one drop over 100 positions.

Using a lightbox - possible duplicate content issues

Redesigning website in Wordpress and going to use the following lightbox plug-in http://www.pedrolamas.pt/projectos/jquery-lightbox/ Naming the original images that appear on screen as say 'sweets.jpg'
and the bigger version of the images as 'sweets-large.jpg' Alt text wise I would give both versions of the images slightly different descriptions. Do you think there would be any duplicate content issues with this? Anything I should do differently? I'm very wary of doing anything that Google is likely to think is naughty, so want to stay on their good side! Cheers

tagged as duplicate content?

Hello folks, I'm new to SEOmoz . I was looking at our Crawl Diagnostics and found that some of our blog posts that have been commented on were tagged as duplicate content. For example: http://thankyouregistry.com/blog/remarriages-and-gift-registries/ http://thankyouregistry.com/blog/remarriages-and-gift-registries/comment-page-1/ I'm unsure how to fix these, so any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Tags on blog post

I have just ran a report on SEOMOZ and it's came back saying I have over 1000 pages on my website with duplicate content, I thought wow that's not good, however when I looked at the report it was counting duplicate content because I have used more than one tag on a blog post, for example the blog post: www.example.com/blog-post/ Has the tags example 1 example 2 example 3 Meaning I have these URLs www.example.com/blog/tag/example-1 www.example.com/blog/tag/example-2 www.example.com/blog/tag/example-3 All 3 URLs above have the same content as www.example.com/blog-post/ because of the tags, is this a problem? Crawl Diagnostics - Duplicate Content and Duplicate Page Title Errors

I am getting a lot of duplicate content and duplicate page title errors from my crawl analysis. I using volusion and it looks like the photo gallery is causing the duplicate content errors. both are sitting at 231, this shows I have done something wrong... Example URL: Duplicate Page Content http://www.racquetsource.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=001.KA601 Duplicate Page Title http://www.racquetsource.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=001.KA601 Would anyone know how to properly disallow this?
