Link Building Companies
-
Hi Moz Community,
I'm currently looking into hiring a link building company. I found one promising lead out of Boise, ID who only specializes in white hat link building tactics but unfortunately, I found some tainted reviews as well. Any one has adice/recommendations on great companies out there?
Many thanks!

I think we are totally done with this debate… everyone want their name to be out there and no one want to speak out loud J
I believe the link Danna shared contain what it takes.
Hope this helps!

Here's a discussion from last year on the same topic. The advice given is sound and still applicable.

You should really look for companies that match what you need. For instance if you are a local company, you should look for someone in your area who has experience in your industry and success with other clients as well. If you have a larger budget and you don't necessarily care where the people you work with are from, you can check out the Moz recommended list http://moz.com/community/recommended and see if a company's strengths match up with what you are looking for. Every company will have different strengths, different strategies, different ways of tracking and to add value to your campaign. Contact a few of them and find who matches your needs the best.

Hi Aimee. If applicable, you can also build quite a few white hat links by working with a quality PR team. It's a higher priced option yet can drive a decent amount of referrer as well as link traffic.
On the more direct scale, responding to customer inquires via social and forums is a great way to build links as well as you're able to link directly back to your site in a way that answers their questions.
In general, Google is moving in a fact checking based direction, so the quality of your content will only become more and more important if you're in that field, see: http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22530102.600-google-wants-to-rank-websites-based-on-facts-not-links.html#.VPOejUIVNbn and http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22329832.700-googles-factchecking-bots-build-vast-knowledge-bank.html#.VPP8l0IVNbk. Cheers!

Should I build internal links to my homepage?
Ive done a lot of internal linking before but its always been for other inner pages but now I need to do it for a websites homepage but this got me thinking if its even worth doing and should I be doing it at all? For the first question I was thinking that surely the homepage has more authority than any of my inner pages so how would internal links from inner pages help and for the second question Ive read a few posts like this Kissmetrics one here where it says you shouldnt do it. There are two types of links you should avoid using in your content: Homepage. Most sites have too many links to the homepage as it is. You would rather strengthen internal pages to boost the overall SEO of your site, rather than simply point more links at the homepage. https://blog.kissmetrics.com/commandments-of-internal-linking/ thoughts?

Link building - unique root domains
Hi there, I was wondering when asking for a link, does where on this page it is? For example will someone's high traffic website (e.g. example.com ) provide more page authority than another link on this site ( e.g. example.com/blog ). If this is the case, is it best to get links from multiple pages if possible or will this not effect SEO? Thanks

Outsourced Link Building
Hello, I'm pretty sure everyone will just tell me to do the link building myself, but the truth is I don't have time. I've looked at link building firms in the past (and even used one), and they were all pretty dodgy. What should I look for in a quality link builder? What costs do you think are reasonable for a quality link? Is there anything you wish you'd known before going down a similar path? Thanks in advance for any help!

How do you put together a link building strategy?
I know after all the Google changes link building is different than it used to be. How do I put a link building strategy together that I can understand and follow? I have fixed most of the crawl errors and my site is still low on the search for most of my targeted keywords. Is link building the answer? Or are there other options I'm missing?

Trying to use the SEOmoz link building tools but...
all of the directories that are listed seem to be based in the US for US companies - am I missing something? By the way my target audience is solely based in the UK, Thanks, Jason
