My Backlinks are Coming ZERO in Open SIte Explorer
-
I have made many links for my website, I checked in majestic it showed me about 40. But MOZ is showing Zero.
The last i remember I checked:
Add
noodp
meta robots tag sitewide in SEO YOAST. It said it prevents search engines from using the DMOZ description for pages from this site in the search results. Also I have a NoIndex (canonical ) on category, archive, author, tag to avoid Duplicate Data.
But when i see the source of my website, it shows <rel link="canonical">on every single page and post of website. Can this be the reason why MOZ is not showing any backlinks? </rel>

Hi Himanshu
Sorry to hear you aren't seeing you links yet in our Index. What you can do is search the sites you are building links on to see if we are crawling them and check the Just Discovered tab to see if any links are in queue. If you see links there for their site and including your own, then you can expect your links to appear in our index in the next 1-2 updates.
Hope this helps!

Just to elaborate a bit on the canonical part, people often put a canonical pointing to itself on all pages to avoid duplicate content in the case of session ids or other parameters being appended to the basic url.
This would not hurt your backlink situation, in fact it could help. If by chance there were backlinks to alternate versions of your base url, you would reclaim the link authority which would otherwise have been lost if Google dropped that page from its index seeing it as duplicate content.

The biggest probable reason Moz doesn't see any links is you didn't give it enough time. Open site explorer takes a bit of time to show links (compared to its competitors) so give it time, you can always look in majestic or ahrefs of webmaster tools.
as for the other stuff if you are unsure of anything its best not to use it but
noodp this will stop Google from using meta descriptions from DMOZ etc.
NoIndex (canonical )
these are two different tags but if they are on pages you do not want indexed that's fine.
you may see this on every page but as long as its a canonical of the page you are on it shouldn't be causing you and problems.

Can I change the Link Explorer from check with Google US?
I'm trying to check the ranking keywords for a specific article with the Link Explorer, but when I hover over Ranking Keywords on the Overview it tells me that it's looking on Google US. We're a UK based company and the keywords we're trying to rank for are UK based - is there a way of changing this to match?

Most of the backlinks not listed
Hi, I'm running a website since one year and a half, and I'm periodically watching with Moz OSE tools the number of backlinks it has. It still shows only 11 backlinks from 8 domains, even if my actual backlinks are much more and come from about 40 domains. I've already searched the forum and read that Moz scraper updates once per month, but all these backlinks are like 6 months old, and still no trace. Many other competitor tools, including the simple google search console can see all the backlinks, only Moz can't retrieve them. Do you have any idea? Somebody else in the same situation? Or is there a way to submit to Moz links to pages containing that backlinks?

Is there a way to run a report through Moz's Open Site Explorer to produce an MS Excel or Google Sheets spreadsheet showing Page Authority (PA) for all the individual pages on my site?

OpenSite Explorer
Hello Moz World, Does anyone know how long it takes Moz's OpenSite Explorer to recognise / index back links? I have generated a number of back links for pages in the last 7 days (not "no-follow") and they are not yet showing up? Any advise would be much appreciated. Kind regards Ben

Facebook "likes" not showing up in Open Site Explorer
Hi All: I'm dealing with a company that has 299 Facebook likes, but Open Site Explorer only shows three. I checked the NAP on Facebook and it's correct. Anyone know why this might be happening? I'm worried if Open Site Explorer is not seeing the likes, Google might not as well, for whatever reason. Thanks! Wes

Open Site Explorer not reporting all 301 redirected links
Our site had over 2,000 root domains linking to it as reported in MOZ Open Site Explorer (and Google Webmaster Tools). We then changed the domain and made sure that 301 redirects were set up for all pages across the site. That was about 1 month ago. Open Site Explorer is now reporting less than 300 linking root domains. For the links that it is reporting the majority of these are being 301 redirected to the new URLs (some of them we changed the links directly). However the majority of the links that are being 301 redirected are not being reported. It is reporting most of the links coming from the old to the new domain. Google Webmaster Tools is reporting over 1,000 linking root domains to the new domain (it has a max of 1,000). We did notice that MOZ took some time to update the domain authority of the new domain. It was 1 for along time and it has now jumped up to 46 ( it was previously at 74). Maybe this is a time delay thing and eventually Open Site Explorer will report all of the 301 redirected links? It is a bit frustrating at the moment as we can't fully analyse the links to the site to try to focus on the high domain linking sites to get them to change the link directly. Also, If all links are being 301 redirected to the new domain should the authority not be close to where it was previously after one month? Our search traffic has dropped considerably since the launch of the new site and hasn't returned yet, so just wondering if the 301 redirected links pass on as much value as thre original direct links. Thanks, Damien
