NPA. Adding two new locations. What phone numbers to use?
-
Hi everyone,
Our client wants to add two new locations. Not sure what phone number to use.
We have main phone 800 number, with no adders associated, and local phone numbers for locations which we do SEO for.New two locations are not for SEO purposes. Client just want them to be listed on website and on major directories for now.
Understanding NPA importance:
Should we use main 800 for both locations?
Should we get new phone numbers for each one? Thanks

Hi Ryan,
if the client does not care rather not they are a local business and found for local purposes it should not matter how ever if you want to call that one location depending on their phone tree it would have to be modified.
Simply find a close number and or unique number for that secular location.
A suggestion that you use a separate service to get numbers I guarantee you that somebody has them. Level 3 as well as jive communications are companies I've used with great success getting phone numbers. Hypothetically you could even go to http://www.phonebooth.com/ and see if they have numbers I know trillow uses level 3 and has a very wide selection of numbers
all the best,
Tom

Hi Patrick,
This is what we thought too. But client doesn't need the SEO service for these locations. And there's no CT and NJ area code numbers available with service we use (Kall8). So we need to decide either new 800 numbers, or main site number.

Hi Ryan
Usually you would want a unique phone number to those locations especially if they are serving two different areas. This also helps with the local SEO aspect to those locations as Google and other search engines verify contact information. Here is a great blog post from Moz on the subject. Hope this helps a bit more. Good luck!

Google my business : Multiple businesses operating from the same location.
After multiple phone calls with Google My Business help, I'm still completely stumped! I need to set up Google my business pages for 5 business', however, each of these companies work in the same office - so the location used on Google my business would be the same. I want to know if this is possible? Surely there's ways to do it, especially since the increase of hot-desking and shared offices! Thanks

Local Help! Google+ Accounts for New Brand & Service Sites
Hi Mozzers! I have a lot of knowledge in local search, G+ page setup/optimization, etc, etc... However, I'm about to begin a business based around "home services". The brand will be ABC Home Services as the umbrella. Then under it will be the individual services like "ABC Carpet Cleaning" "ABC Roofing", etc... Each service will have it's own website for optimization purposes and local search authority building as well as the services will be developed over the course of a couple years ie: carpet cleaning would go up 1st, then the next service and so on... I have purchased all of the domains I want for the services to focus on. What do you recommend I do in terms of setting up Gmail accounts/G+ accounts? Individual service related Gmail accounts and have a main "ABC Home Services" Google account and then add in the service G+ pages over time? I'm open to any questions, but trying to make this the most efficient for me and my team and also the best if can be for local optimization goals and criteria. Thank you! - Patrick

4 shared locations - 1 phone number - legacy GMB - HELP!!!
I have a friend who is a dietician and has the following issue with his business He works in 4 different locations across town- Each location is shared with other practitioners. - he uses the same phone number for each location (free 0800 UK number)- he has legacy google places profiles for some locations with some reviews he'd like to keep and other locations he'd like to delete. He'd like to be present on page 1 of google for terms like dietician in "name of location he works in"I am clearly concerned about his NAP profile since he only has 1 phone number for all locations. The address of each location can clash with other practitioners working there who have already registered a GMB profile using the same addresses although there might be the possibility of using something like "suite x" to differentiate his business in the address. Can anybody advice on how they would approach this one please. Thanks

Citation verifications with phone trees
We have several clients whose practices have phone trees enabled for their primary number, which means we aren't able to send automated verification calls for Google, Yelp, ExpressUpdate (Infogroup), YellowPages, etc. Sometimes our clients are able to temporarily disable their phone trees, and sometimes said site's support teams manually verify for us once we have proven our association with the businesses. We just wanted to reach out to see if anyone had alternative solutions or workarounds, since phone trees usually cause a significant hangup. Thanks!

How does the new local pack change rankings?
So I just saw this afternoon that google has changed how the local pack displays listings, only 3 listings now show. Also Google continues to distance itself from Google+. Now it seems getting in the top 3 of the local pack is going to be even more competitive. What should the strategy be now for competing in the local pack? Has it changed? Or just stick to tried and true local optimizations?

I have noticed two changes in SEO from Dec 2014 to Now
Why has most of the local pages from google disappeared? There were normally 3-6 local listings on Google but now it has vanished? Has the algorithm or rules changed? Secondly i noticed a massive swing in seo rankings. I have done some testing i i found that google now gives you different rankings depending on the area that you in. So i can safely assume that the algorithms have changed and you now get results based on your area? The top 4-5 rankings stay the same but everything else changes to your current location. Am i wrong, what has changed. Please help.

Local Search - Multiple Locations, do i link the home page or the inner page?
Hello, For a business with multiple locations that has a web url built for each location such as: Website.com/miami Website.com/los-angeles For local search (Google+, Yelp, etc), is it best to link the local search pages to the specific page of that location? Or is the homepage sufficient enough? I ask that because it is ALREADY touch getting NATURAL links to a location page, so would local search do me good by linking to the exact page of the location?
