Competitor changed URL. What data do I lose if I update Moz settings?
-
One of my competitor's has changed their domain URL. I want to update this in the Moz campaign settings but I get a warning that all historical data will be lost if I do.
Is that really true? I replaced one of my competitors with another for a week and didn't seem to lose historical data.
Incidentally, could this be a feature request to allow more competitors to be tracked?

Boo. I am begrudgingly marking this question as answered.
Thank you for passing on the feature request, though.

Hi There,
I hope that everyone is having an excellent day! Although, it pains my heart to say unfortunately when a competitor is changed or deleted in Moz Analytics we will no longer retain historical data.
Your best bet in this case would be to create a new campaign to track the updated competitor and just have them run side by side until you are comfortable deprecating one for the other. Although we recognize that this is not ideal for many of our awesome mozzers until we come up with a more comprehensive solution this may be the best recourse.
Also, I will be sure to let our product team now about the desire to increase the number of competitors at the our next super awesome justice league meeting.
Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
Have a spectacular day!

I did get the same warning.
I want to track the competitor at their new domain. But I don't want to lose my historical data for that competitor.

hello Justin,
Last time, when you changed one of your competitors with another for a week,... did you get the same warning? what exactly are you doing?
Luis

Are there any plans for a Moz connector to Google Data Studio
Hello all, As title reads, are there any plans for a Moz connector to Google Data Studio to help automate reporting? I'm surprised this doesn't exist already because Data Studio is so heavily used. Thanks in advance. Simon

Moz Pricing Needs Update
Hi I am coming from Ahrefs and Moz plans need serious update about the limits especially rank tracking. Ahrefs is providing more keywords $0.08/keyword (5000 keywords for the advanced plan) and update interval of 3 days. Moz large plan is $0.13/keyword with intervals of 1 week. Can this be looked into? Hopefully Moz can improve the limits for keywords ranking/tracking. In 2020 where many rank tracking tools provide daily update, 1 week is a bit ridiculously long. Hopefully Moz can make some improvement in this area,

Hello All, I'm facing an issue with the MOZ Crawler. Every time it crawls my website , there will be an error message saying " **Moz was unable to crawl your site on Sep 13, 2017. **Our crawler was not able to access the robots.txt file on your site. This often occurs because of a server error from the robots.txt. | np - /google-structured-data-update/ | In my "New Rankings & Insights | Hill Web Creations" report, while "Google structured data update" moved up significantly, at the same time, "np - /google-structured-data-update/" moved down significantly. Any insights that would offer a deeper understanding of the discrepancy and how to pull both up? If this corresponds with Google Analytics, the "np" Acquisitions > Campaigns > Organic Keywords > "Organic Search Traffic" Report, how is Moz rendering is New Rankings & Insights?0
