Anybody experience with speeding up loading time for visitors from China mainland?

I made some speed tests and noticed that our website loads 10 times slower for visitors from China mainland.
Did anybody have experience with speeding up loading time for visitors from China?We operate the Chinese version of our website in a subdirectory and we have no interest in registering a company in China in order to get the ICP number.
Currently using cloudflare who should have a node in HK and serving static content via rackspace.Does disabling google analytics and facebook widgets really make a difference? (ideally would like to avoid this)

Hi Joe, thanks. I had the same thoughts and already talked to them. It is only offered to enterprise clients of cloudflare and requires an ICP number which in turn requires a company located in China.

I don't have personal experience optimizing for the Chinese market, but I do have experience with Cloudflare. They recently announced a partnership with Baidu to tackle this problem regarding the Great Firewall.
"The combined network also improves the viewing experience for visitors inside and outside of China. After enabling the China network, visitors to CloudFlare sites from within China are served from Baidu’s network of data centers, while visitors from outside of China continue to be served from the CloudFlare network. The result is a decrease in application latency of greater than 200 milliseconds for China traffic."
Would definitely check out https://www.cloudflare.com/china and talk to their support team about solutions to your load time, that's the best be in my opinion.

Just in our case a bit difficult to implement since all our language versions are based on same template and it would not be worth the effort to make a complete new design/CSS/javascript for the Chinese web version. Site is already mobile optimized.
Anybody has experience with fast and affordable caching services from HongKong?

This may not be you, but simply due to what has been called "The great firewall of china" that slows things down. This is an article that looked at a bunch of sites that were non-Chinese companies that hosted outside of the mainland and did a lot of business in China.

Catchpoint says sites hosted outside of China often load slowly, because they are slowed by the so-called Great Firewall of China. For example, sites with the .cn domain—which are almost always hosted within China—typically are more than twice as fast as sites with .com in their domain names, Catchpoint says.
Regardless, I would not disable GA as you need that data to improve and understand your site traffic. Facebook widgets can slow you down, but you have to determine if they help with your sales or not. Your best bet is to try and design your site to be as simple as possible. Cut down on all the Javascript menus etc. Design your site for a mobile experience, then expand out from there. Trim down your CSS file as much as possible. Don't use typekit or other services with custom fonts. Get lean and mean.

Does not having any hreflang tags for U.S Visitors lead to an increase in International Visitors?
I have seen a massive increase in International Visitors on our website and visitors within the United States dropped off hard this month (by about 20%). Could it be possible that not having any hreflang tags can lead to an increase in International Customers visiting the site even though your sitemap is set to "Target users in United States" within the Google Search Console? In the Google Search Console, I have International Targeting set to "Target users in United States." However, Google Search Console is saying our site doesn't have any hreflang tags. In the Google Search Console, it says "Your site has no hreflang tags. Google uses hreflang tags to match the user's language preference to the right variation of your pages." I'm not sure when that was flagged, but recently we have seen a massive increase in International Visitors to our site from countries such as Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia, the United Kingdom and so on. This poses a problem since our chances of turning one of those visitors into a customer is extremely slim. Along with that, nearly every international customer is contributing to an extremely high Bounce Rate. Web Site Migration - Time to Google indexing
Soon we will do a website migration .com.br to .com/pt-br. Wi will do this migration when we have with lower traffic. Trying to follow Google Guidelines, applying the 301 redirect, sitemap etc... I would like to know, how long time the Google generally will use to transfering the relevance of .com.br to .com/pt-br/ using redirect 301?

Getting pages that load dynamically into the SE's
SEO'ers, Am dealing with an issue I cannot figure out the best way to handle. Working on a website that shows the definitions of words which are loaded dynamically from an open source. Source such as: wiktionary.org When you visit a particular page to see the definition of the word, say; www.example.com/dictionary/example/ the definition is there. However, how can we get all the definition pages to get indexed in search engines? The WordPress sitemap plugin is not picking up these pages to be added automatically - guess because it's dynamic - but when using a sitemap crawler pages are detected. Can anybody give advice on how to go about getting the 200k+ pages indexed in the SE's? How to get EU visitors to .co.uk and US visitors to .com
Hi all Re: www.explanar.com and www.explanar.co.uk We have developed a website for the US and UK, with a shop on each. Each site has a network of countries they can export to. US sells and ships to US, South America, Caribbean and so on UK sells and ships to UK, Europe, and Africa, etc Currently, visitors from Germany (.de) searching for phrases "Explanar", or "golf swing trainer" get the .com (US) site. They cannot buy from this site, so we have added a message to tell them to go to the UK site (.co.uk, but what I really want is for the European visitors to find the UK site only. .com is the original URL, but with new content

Alternate tag. Anybody had success getting English websites only with localized currency served with alternate tag?
I have an English website with USD prices and US phone.

Via currency dropdown visitors in Ireland can choose EUR as currency, visitors from Denmark Danish crown etc and via GEO IP I also serve local contact phone numbers. So I though it made sense to define this with the alternate tags, but now after several months google still does not pickup these pages in local searches. Did anybody have success with getting a website just with currency parameter ranked locally using the alternate tag? Does it help to have also static links (not only dropdown links) to currency versions on the page? Any other thing that could help to have google pick these up? Below my code sample:0 -
Google Webmaster Tools - Geographic target - Time till change
One of my clients is targeting UK customers. They have UK IP address. I then noticed that they had their Geographic target set to "Target users in: United States". I advised them to change this. Anyone know: How this could have been set, the client says they didn't do it? How long will it take for Google to see this has been changed? Thanks in advance. Justin

Anyone have experience using .asia TLD?
We are the top US supplier of a very high end French made product. The largest market for their products is Japan. We would like to target Japanese buyers that travel (for business or pleasure) to the West Coast (we're in SF) for personalized US delivery. I have been reading all related SEOmoz posts for International SEO. But looking to the future there could be other Asian opportunities, so a .asia domain has appeal (as does the $6 per year cost vs. $99 for a .jp). Is this TLD credible (both to potential customers and Yahoo Japan)? THX

Webmaster Tools crawl error shows Porn from China.
I have an ongoing issue with porn showing up in my crawl error report from Google Webmaster Tools. They show up like so… _ ads/adtrack.asp?id=monsterselfemp&type=2&redir=//deuxmalio.cn/m.php/BLACK-GRANNY-VIDS-612_ Domain name not found 0008-05-11 I have no idea what deuxmalio.cn is, and it doesn't show up in search. Would this negatively impact my rankings and what can I do about this? I receive A LOT of these, most of which I cannot repeat in this forum.
