Creating SEO Time Management Strategy
-
Hey Mozzers!
Everything nowadays is automated- social media, content calendars, etc.. I am trying to get more organized with my time so that I can make sure each client is getting a fair amount of work, but this can be tough as one person managing 20 various campaigns; it leaves little time for connecting with influencers and finding those organic connections for link building.
I was recently watching an old WBF 'Building a Monthly SEO Action Plan' and it missed the mark a bit on what I was hoping for. I was wanting Rand's time and what he prioritizes; reporting, link building, content refinement...
What SEO time management strategy have you found useful? How do you break down your time each month/per campaign?
Thanks!!!

'20 campaigns for 1 person, I can't believe that's a good thing.'
I feel the same way. I am hoping in the future to move away from monthly projects towards more one-off campaigns/services, but nevertheless this is the job I've been given. That is why I am trying to squeeze the most out of my time and find a process where I can be strategic and focus on/prioritize for x,y, and z.
Automating my reporting seems like the most obvious place to begin but can you believe I have yet to even start there. I'm making it a priority for Monday, done!
I was hoping someone would have a monthly maintenance schedule/guideline they use and would like to share. Like
- Xhrs Analyzing/Reporting
- Xhrs Fixing Technical Issues
- Xhrs Link Building
- Xhrs Content/Blogging, etc..

Hi Ryan,
20 campaigns for 1 person, I can't believe that's a good thing. What happens if hell brakes loose for 1 or 2 in the same week. But nevertheless. I would focusing on making sure that your reporting is automated as much as possible to make sure you won't have to spend a lot of time on this. So most of the times you can focus on the things that need brain power. Not sure if you're looking for some more specific information about a certain topic.

Is dynamic keyword insertion a viable local SEO tactic/strategy for your content?
Hi mozzers, I have a meeting tomorrow with the dev team to discuss about dynamic keyword insertion implementation on a new site. This site currently holds 40 geo specific microsites with several service pages each carrying unique content. These pages(about 400 pages) are seen by VP of marketing as hard to maintain and inconvenient when wanting to change content across these pages. The VP is looking to automate content as much as possible without hurting our local SEO efforts. The dev team will be asking me if dynamic keyword insertion could a viable strategy for these 40 locations without harming local SEO. Currently we have a robust local SEO strategy in place and wouldn't want to change it unless dynamic keyword insertion is a viable option and won't hurt all the seo efforts that are in place? If this is not a viable solution, any recommendations on any other solutions we could use to satisfy the VP? If you have used DKI for your local SEO efforts, please share your thoughts and results that you have seen. Any real case scenario data/knowledge would be really helpful. Thank you!

Why do SMB owners want more calls as a result of SEO, but don't answer 62% of them?
Working mostly with SMBs for 8 years now, we have gradually developed the notion that small business owners are hard to reach by phone. Our Customer Service agents spend hours unsuccessfully trying to reach business owners. If a potential customer calls the business, they'll have to face the same outcome. This means missed opportunities for both parties. Needless to say, one of the most important KPIs in local SEO is the number of generated phone calls...but no one's there to answer. We wanted to dig deeper into the matter, so we did a small study with 85 businesses. Results show that: 37.8% of calls are answered by a person. 37.8% of calls are answered by an answering machine, where no actual conversation (nor conversion) is possible, so we treat these calls as unanswered. 24.3% of calls are unanswered. We also gathered a list of possible solutions to the problem, but what we really need to know is WHY do business owners neglect such an important part of their business? And what resolutions can you think of?

How to promote a local SEO/Web design company via a blog (mainly blogging) and social media?
Hello, What is possible as far as promoting a local SEO and Web Design Company with a blog? I'm offering simple web design, both informational and product based, as well as SEO for existing informational and product-based companies here in Boise, Idaho. At first it won't be face to face so there's no local SEO. I honestly don't like to sell. I've done it for years and I'd like to spend my time blogging (mainly blogging), doing social media, and volunteering. How can I use this approach to get a beginning agency off the ground? Please don't tell me to go push my services. I'd like to get my company off the ground through avenues that have integrity to me. How do I do this? Feel free to include articles and videos in your response if appropriate. Thank you.

How to market web design and SEO company locally
Hello, I'm looking for easy (yah right, correct?) ways to market locally my web solutions company. I do web design, E-commerce web design, and I start informational and E-commerce companies for people starting at $1000/month - only new companies, later I'll do a little more E-commerce stuff. Looking for inexpensive, fairly easy ways to market locally. Thanks!

How is it possible to create unique content (never blogged or discussed before) content on common topics? Is it practically possible?
It is a common advise by all seo experts to write unique and useful content in the articles or blog posts. How is it possible to find unique topics when thousands of small business owners blog on similar business? Is it really possible? Any advise on this.

SEO planning: Franchise/multiple local sites
I am in the planning stages of franchising a cleaning business and was wondering if anyone had some ideas on SEO strategy. If money were no object and I had a team of hundreds of copywriters at my disposal, would the ultimate solution be to have the following sort of URL structure www.cleanbiz.co.uk/city within which there are numerous www.cleanbiz.co.uk/city/local-town pages? If this is the best strategy then is it worthwhile to begin work towards ranking for cities and local towns within them prior to actually operating there? I understand that lack of physical presence will penalize me in terms of local search but would a lack of physical address and phone number render any foundation work pointless (for example, prior to having any franchises in say London, would it be worth while building quality content and links on a www.cleaningbiz.co.uk/london page, and then www.cleaningbiz.co.uk/london/notting-hill, alongside a blog and so on?) Interested to understand the best way to go about this given the enormity of the campaign! Thanks
