International SEO Proposal
-
Hi,
I need to create an international seo proposal and wondered what are the best bits of international SEO I should include?
I have been reading up on loads of blogs wondered if anyone had some great ideas
Much appreciated.

Hey Karl!
As Patric said you can find most information over here in Moz. Now the main question here is, do you need to do local SEO? I mean, is your potential client a software or a brand with locals? This can drastically change things for you.
Here you can find an example of an SEO proposal that may help you get started faster.
If you answer the previous questions I can give you a better hand on this.

Thank you Patrick, I will take a look at those links.

Hi there
There are a couple great resources from Moz that can help you immensely with international SEO:
Remember that international SEO foundationally is the same as domestic SEO, there's onsite and offsite elements that you'll always have to focus on, but now you have to take into consideration culture, language, partnerships, local listings/citations, and more. You need to review the above resources, see what is applicable to your client's goals and needs in particular countries they are focused on, and prioritize what needs to be done in order to have success.
Let me know if this helps! Good luck!
Patrick

Internal Links Not Registering
Hey everybody. In Moz when I compare link profiles to my competitors my domain is showing up as only having 4 internal follow links, and 0 nofollow. I know for a fact this is not the case however it is disconcerting. Is there any reason why Moz wouldn't be able to pick up my internal links? Is there a difference when linking internally by "/page_a" vs actually spelling out the entire URL i.e. "https://www.mysite.com/page_a"

What's the best homepage experince for an international site?
Greeting Mozzers. I have a question for the community, which I would appreciate your input on. If you have a single gTLD that services multiple countires, what do you think is the best homepage UX for the root homepage and why? So the example would be you own website www.company.org and target content to Germany, Japan and Australia with content through the folder structure eg. www.company.org/de-de If someone comes to the www.company.org from a region, would you: Redirect them based on location IP – so if from Germany they land on www.company.org/de-de Let them land on the homepage which offers location selection Let them land on a page with content and offer location selection eg. pop-up or obvious selection box Something I’ve not thought of… I'd appreciate your input. Thanks

International SEO question domain.com vs domain.com/us/ , domain.com/uk etc.
Hi Mozzers, I am expanding a website internationally. I own the .com for the domain. I need to accommodate multiple countries and I'm not sure if I should build a folder for /us/ for United States or just have the root domain .com OPTION 1:

domain.com/page-url -- United States
domain.com/de/page-url -- Denmark
domain.com/jp/page-url -- Japan OPTION 2:
domain.com/us/page-url -- United States
domain.com/de/page-url -- Denmark
domain.com/jp/page-url -- Japan My concern with option 2 is there will be some dilution and we wouldn't get the full benefit of inbound links compared to Option 1 as we would have geo ip redirection in place to redirect users etc. to the relative sub-folder. Which option is better from an SEO perspective? Cheers, Jeremy0 -
Webmaster tools International Targeting
Hello there, If we have country specific websites such as: usa.domain.com (For the US) uk.domain.com (For the UK) fr.domain.com (For France) Should each of the above sub-domains be set up separately in webmaster tools? With "target users in" for each of the specific countries? Thanks

Russian SEO Specialist Needed
Hi All, Looking for a bit of help here. We are quoting for a big SEO project on a Russian website and need high quality Russian link builders to work on building the links to the website. As well as this, we need to have a little look at the on-page content (but that will be more of just straight translation stuff, nothing big). If you're a Russian link builder and could help me here then get in touch. I only want ethical, white-hat and relevant links being built to the website so if that's not what you do, please don't waste my time 🙂 Also, this should really go without saying but I'll mention it anyway... you MUST speak Russian! Look forward to hearing from you. Matt matt@wowinternet.net

Does hosting content for one country in another country negatively affect its SEO ranking?
Hi, my content is primarily for Australian audiences, however due to a general lack of competitive hosting infrastructure, I tend to host a lot of content in the US. A 2007 article I read implied that it's not a good idea - does anyone have a definitive 2011 answer? Cheers, Jez
