Splitting a strong page - SEO

Hi,
I have a page with high traffic that is showing a list of flea markets in a unique URL.
We are redesigning our website and we have created a listing directory of flea markets, so the users can look up and find the information for each. Each flea market will have its own URL in the future, and the listing directory shows only summarized info of each flea market in the results.
Before activating the new flea market section, I would like to make sure which is our best bet:
Option 1: Create pages with same URL/content as the current ones, which we won't link from frontend, and besides that, use the new flea market section on a separate page.
Option 2: Redirect the current page to the new flea market section.
As an inaccurate reference because it depends on many variables and SEO doesn't have an actual number, I understand this is more or less how it would work:

Example Option 1 (after 1 week of launch):

Old Flea Market Pages SEO traffic: 10,000 visits/month

New Copied Flea Market Pages traffic: 9,700 (maybe a bit below 100 because of design changes etc)

New Flea Market Section traffic: 500 visits/month (then increase over time)

Example Option 2 (after 1 week of launch):

Old Flea Market Pages SEO traffic: 10,000 visits/month

New Redirected Flea Market Pages traffic: 9,000 (in principle PageRank wouldn't be affected, but other rankings might)

New Flea Market Section traffic: (joined above, then increase over time)
According to this, Option 1 would give us more total future visits compared to redirecting, plus the new flea market pages would add to it. If redirecting, the new flea market section would add up some SEO juice to the old page, but not as much as Option 1 (not redirecting). Please confirm.
Which option is the best one and why?

AS a rule of the thumb, no matter what changes applies on 3XX redirections, but the least you do it the best, not just for juice loss but for easier management of your website. You definitely do not want 2x or 3x 301 to happen unless it's really unavoidable based on how complicated your website is.
Now your best bet depends on what you want to accomplish. In the past I always tried to be conservative and try not to lose too much of my so hardly earned traffic, and didn't want to lose a piece of it, but after a while you see consequences of that, as you start having a mixed composition of legacy URLs on your website.I would say, test in a relatively small section and see what happens. If your loss of traffic/rankings is too significative roll the changes back (don't forget the 301 back), and use your preferred method, but take into account that in the long run you want to have a manageable website limiting exceptions as much as possible.
On a side note, people normally looks at 301 like a loss of value no matter what, but that's not always the case, the big deal with 301s is the loss of value accrued from other pages, so, if after you 301:
- change all the internal links so you don't have unnecessary internal 301s
- contact external websites to get the url changed.
Once you do that, the 301 won't matter at all, as the resources sending value to that page are now linking to the new one.

URL structure - Page Path vs No Page Path
We are currently re building our URL structure for eccomerce websites. We have seen a lot of site removing the page path on product pages e.g. https://www.theiconic.co.nz/liberty-beach-blossom-shirt-680193.html versus what would normally be https://www.theiconic.co.nz/womens-clothing-tops/liberty-beach-blossom-shirt-680193.html Should we be removing the site page path for a product page to keep the url shorter or should we keep it? I can see that we would loose the hierarchy juice to a product page but not sure what is the right thing to do.

Why does Google rank a product page rather than a category page?
Hi, everybody In the Moz ranking tool for one of our client's (the client sells sport equipment) account, there is a trend where more and more of their landing pages are product pages instead of category pages. The optimal landing page for the term "sleeping bag" is of course the sleeping bag category page, but Google is sending them to a product page for a specific sleeping bag.. What could be the critical factors that makes the product page more relevant than the category page as the landing page?

95% of organic traffic lands in my homepage, despite having a 250 page website with a "seo optimized" hierarchical structure. Any suggestion as to what might be happening?

Duplicate content within sections of a page but not full page duplicate content
Hi, I am working on a website redesign and the client offers several services and within those services some elements of the services crossover with one another. For example, they offer a service called Modelling and when you click onto that page several elements that build up that service are featured, so in this case 'mentoring'. Now mentoring is common to other services therefore will feature on other service pages. The page will feature a mixture of unique content to that service and small sections of duplicate content and I'm not sure how to treat this. One thing we have come up with is take the user through to a unique page to host all the content however some features do not warrant a page being created for this. Another idea is to have the feature pop up with inline content. Any thoughts/experience on this would be much appreciated.

How important is the HTML structure for on-page/on-site SEO?
To be more specific, say a page layout has Header, Body, Left Sidebar, Footer sections. Which layout from the following options is more SEO-friendly? Header > Body > Right Sidebar > Footer Body > Header > Right Sidebar > Footer Does it make a big difference to code HTML so that the the copy of the body appears in front of all other sections when spiders crawl a website? Is it worth taking extra steps to make this happen? I am asking this question because our site has a header navigation with a lot of dropdown menus. So I assume that this is "noise" for spiders as it pushes the main content of the page down. Please bear in mind that the question is more geared towards how search engine see the page rather than how it appears to the end user as layout can be controlled by CSS.This question also assumes that all other on-site SEO best practices are followed for both options.

Cant find my home page to seo it....aajhhhhhh
Hi Guys, This might be more of a joomla thiing than a SEO thing but it is correlated as I need to seo this pgage and i cant find it. Please help if you can, while my developer is on hols, this is driving me nuts!! I can find the article sections in Joomla 2.5 to edit all the text in my other pages but for some reason cannot find the text for the home page!!??? any ideas? Please...?? He set a lot of it up using CSS and Jquery / php etc....so im a little confused as to why I can find the html to edit.......aaahhhhhhhh Thanks guys, Im sure its quite easy!! Thanks in advance. Craig

Could Temporarily Linking New Directory Pages to my Homepage Help SEO?
Within my website we maintain a nationwide directory of auto repair shops. When we add or significantly update / modify a particular listing, would it help improve the individual search engine rankings, Google PageRank, and / or Page Authority of the new auto shop page if we linked these pages to an area on the home page for "Our Newest Featured Shops" or "Latest Member Additions" or something of the nature? Each new shop profile would then be linked directly from the homepage for a period of time. I assume that it might be crawled and added to the indexes quicker, but would there be other benefits? If so, would those benefits only be temporary if eventually the new shop no longer linked to the homepage? Would keeping all featured shops in rotational display on the homepage make any difference?
