If Product Pages Perform Well In Google then Is It Possible That Category Page Can perform Well In Google?
-
Hi All,
For my ecommerce site I have optimized my product pages very nicely like good images, detailed information about products, good reviews, implemented schema for my product and reviews and very perfect onpage.
Now my query is if my products pages performing well in google then there are chances that my category page rank well in google too?
Thanks!

Yep. There's certainly nothing to stop them from ranking, and if you're already doing well with product pages, then it's an indication your category pages should also do reasonably well.
Obviously you'll want to optimise for at the category level (e.g. Ladies Leather Jackets, rather than a specific jacket name or type), and there may be more competition. But obviously by going for broader terms, there's the opportunity to attract a lot more traffic.
In general when I work with eCommerce sites, I always tend to work from individual products up where possible, so as far as I'm concerned you're doing it in the right order...

Fetch as Google
Are there any pros or cons with using Google fetch and submit? I realise Google will likely find it of its own accord in due course but I have found it may take a couple of weeks if at all. Fetch and submit seems to speed this process up, sometimes anyway.

Why is my contact us page ranking higher than my home page?
Hello, It doesn't matter what keyword I put into Google (when I'm not signed in and have cleaned down my browsing history) the contact us page ranks higher than the home page. I'm not sure why this is, the home page has a higher page authority, more links and more social media shares, the website is an established one. When I have checked Google Analytics my home page gets more people landing on it than the contact us page. It looks like people are ignoring the contact us page and scrolling down until they find the home page. I'd appreciate any help or advice you might have. Thank you.

301 to Intermediate Page then Rel=Canonical from Intermediate to target page
Hi I'm working on an eCommerce site and don't have direct access to the CMS. I had requested developers to provide me a facilty to 301 via htaccess however this is working slight differently. I need guidance from experts whether it's okay or not: Old Page: example.com/old Target New Page: example.com/new After Implementing the redirect, It redirects to an intermediate page or in other words, The same target URL with a question mark added: example.com/new? (notice the question mark in the new URL) This intermediate page has a canonical tag for the exact target URL. So, if I 301 redirect example.com/old to example.com/new? (Intermediate page) and If the intermediate page example.com/new? has a canonical tag for the exact target URL (example.com/new), Will I be able to pass the link juice and authority of old page to the new page?

On page report card instances of key terms in the body - I can't find them all
Hi guys, I'm using the on-page report card for a particular page which is returning 22 instances of my term, however when I check the source of the page, I can only find 6 instances across the whole page, let alone the body. The site is www.sportsbet.com.au, and the term "horse racing". I'm sure I'm missing something, would appreciate any explanation for this apparent discrepancy. Cheers, Jez

Duplicate Page Content and Duplicate Page Title
Hi All, I'm new in SEOMoz and have some questions after I have already spend 2-3 days trying to resolve the problems identified from Crawling one of my clients websites. I get quite a lot of Duplicate Page Conntent and Page Titles warnings and trying to find a workaround through the forums and posts. I continuously get this error on most of my pages: URL: http://domain.com/benefits with the same Page but with a WWW in front URL: http://www.domain.com/benefits Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks, Athos

Link Product Thumb & Product Name with same anchor link?
We have an issue on one of our sites we're monitoring a campaign for that seems to have TOO many links on each page. I think the biggest reason is that each product listing on each category page has two separate anchor links into that page. One for the thumb and one for the name. So even though there should only be 60-70 links on each category page, that amount is being inflated because each product listing technically is being split into two separate links. Question is, should I place the thumbnail and name within the same anchor link? We do this on a lot of other sites we operate, but I'm not sure what's a better strategy. It would seem to me that it would be better to have a single anchor link that shares the thumb and product name.
