Building Press Release/News Distribution Lists
-
I'm currently setting up projects in Buzz Stream so that I can send out news tips and press releases to local news stations. Has anyone been able to do this successfully without signing up for an expensive press release distribution company like Newswire? If so... I would appreciate it if you could share an email template you use to send out your news tips and press releases to the local news stations.
Thank you!!!

list itemthe same press release content to multiple PR sites is generally considered a bad practice. Duplicate content can negatively impact search engine optimization (SEO), leading to potential ranking penalties. Moreover, it diminishes the uniqueness and effectiveness of your message across platforms. 700+ Free Press Release Submission sites may also have terms of service against duplicate submissions, risking account suspension or removal. It's advisable to tailor your releases for each platform to maximize impact and avoid potential repercussions.

Absolutely agree! Thank you!

I think you'll probably need to put some thought into this as outreach is all about quality. Your recipient is busy so be direct. Get to the point and make sure they understand the value your piece is offering. Make it relatable, helpful, authentic and timely. If you can show them what about your story is compelling and relatable it may win their buy-in.

Yes, that's pretty much what I'm doing. I just wasn't sure the proper way to pitch the news story to the new stations. Do I just say "we just published this press release today and feel it would be valuable to your audience" and send them a link???
Thank you for confirming my strategy is on the right track!

I worked for an agency that did this manually and had about 1500 contacts they would choose to email based on the story or PR push. We used a simple email distribution app campaign monitor and A/B tested our emails for stronger response rates. It worked well at a small scale but had limitations to it.

How to get listed for specific locations/cities/towns
Best practice?? I have a client that wishes to get found for services in several towns across the UK. They only have 1 physical location I have so far created a blog ( i use easyblog) and put a list of these towns..then added TAGS with the town names (this means each TAG gets a URL too) ..also i need to then monitor in moz pro somehow. Alternatively i could create web pages with additional information and give the URL the town name....however i think the tags will help...any advice welcome.

Considering Switching Domain from .ca to .com for Service Area Business - What is the Risk / Reward?
Hello, Thank you to anyone who takes the time to share their thoughts on this. I will preface this by saying that I am very new to the community and have lots to learn, so please forgive any obvious errors on my part. That having been said am very happy to receive positive criticism and feedback 🙂 Quick Background: We are a high end mobile wellness business based in Toronto Canada offering in home/office servicing including: yoga, pilates, nutrition, meditation, chiropractors, etc... As we are expanding we are transitioning form new leads coming from business partners and word of mouth to driving new business online As such we have an new Squarespace site (which is the first site I ever built, so any feedback is welcome) and are venturing into social media, SEO, local citations etc... for the first time We have a significant content catalogue originally for client and instructor education that we are now repurposing for this new digital adventure but have not yet deployed While currently focused in Torotno, we have plans to expand to several other countries in the next two years. As the site is quite new and we have little content or incoming links I was thinking now is the time to switch to .com from .ca before we roll out Website: www.anahana.ca Risk Reward? & Other Issues? Both domains are currently verified with Squarespace, and it seems easy enough to switch. What could blow up by making this switch which I might not be aware of? Our emails and business card use the .ca, but I don't think this would matter too much 6-12 months out... is there something else I might be missing on this? .com and using subfolders or subdomains as opposed to country specific TLDs ? This is something I am still working on understanding, but from what I have learned thus far, if we are going to progressively roll out a large content library, is it not better from an SEO standpoint to have this all in one domain? Local SEO and legal considerations for TLDs when operating local Service Area Businesses. I am sure there are many other angles here that I am missing and am not really looking for any hard answer on much of this, but any general advice, suggested resources, and experienced insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks so much, cj

What markup/schema is "responsible" for location pin in mobile rich snippets?
Howdy, Saw this new(?) feature in mobile rich snippets (attached here). Anyone knows what part of schema (or whatever else) is making this appear? P.S. From all responses, and some thinking, it looks like the answer would be "who knows", as usual with Google. But most likely it would be related to usual LocalBusiness addressLocality itemprop. 0739Z5v

Is dynamic keyword insertion a viable local SEO tactic/strategy for your content?
Hi mozzers, I have a meeting tomorrow with the dev team to discuss about dynamic keyword insertion implementation on a new site. This site currently holds 40 geo specific microsites with several service pages each carrying unique content. These pages(about 400 pages) are seen by VP of marketing as hard to maintain and inconvenient when wanting to change content across these pages. The VP is looking to automate content as much as possible without hurting our local SEO efforts. The dev team will be asking me if dynamic keyword insertion could a viable strategy for these 40 locations without harming local SEO. Currently we have a robust local SEO strategy in place and wouldn't want to change it unless dynamic keyword insertion is a viable option and won't hurt all the seo efforts that are in place? If this is not a viable solution, any recommendations on any other solutions we could use to satisfy the VP? If you have used DKI for your local SEO efforts, please share your thoughts and results that you have seen. Any real case scenario data/knowledge would be really helpful. Thank you!

Building Great Content
When writing content. Let's say I write fantastic useful content that most home buyers (since I'm a realtor) would benefit from, but they don't have a website, so they aren't going to link back to me anywhere. Whats the best way to get your content seen? Do you recommend putting it on facebook and promoting it? It's just tough in my business because it's such a commodity but I know there has to be a way. I'm just trying to see the best way before I spend TONS and TONS of time on writing actual useful and great content. As of now it's been a risk vs. reward thing and I haven't done it, but I feel like now is the time. Thanks!

Video marketing strategy for new sites - Youtube / third party vs self hosted?
Howdy Mozzers, We are a new UK solar comparison site looking to implement video to help buid our site traiffic / leads. We currently make a 1 min video summary of our blog posts using Animoto and embed the video at the top of the blog post on our site. The original thought of introducing video was to help our blog posts rank higher. My question is, which of the following strategy is the best for building traffic and generating leads for our site 1. Hosting video on Youtube and embedding it on our site 2. Hosting video on Animoto and embedding it on our site (not sharing on youtube) 3. Hosting the video on our own domain and not sharing it on Youtube and other third party sites 4. Embedding the video from youtube or animoto on our site and sharing it everywhere (dailymotion, vimeo, etc) Our target audience is UK only for the time being. We would like to build traffic quickly and are focused on the short term. I would be appreciate any replies discussing the different advantages disadvantages of the options and a final personal opinion. Thanks!
