I want to find all the keywords that an existing page is currently ranking for...is there a way to do that in MOZ or another tool?
-
I've seen this done during a software demo and saw it as the only value add for that tool but it's not worth the price of the whole tool for that one feature. The tool I saw showed you all the keywords you currently ranked for (within the top 200 positions), the position you were at, the number of users that term drove to your site and the total search volume for the keyword. SUPER useful info to have.

That doesn't work by page Paul - That's what Brian is asking.
-
You can do this in Google Search Console too, without needing any other tools. It will give you the average ranking position, which has some advantages and disadvantages over the other tools' reports.
-
Ahrefs > Overview > Top Pages > Page URL > Organic Keyword, once you are, there click on the selected URL will show you the keywords that are ranked for that specific page.
That report will show you
- keyword
- _Keyword Difficulty _
- _Cost Per Click _
- _Traffic _
- Position
Hope this will help you

Sorry, Brian, I was referring to SEMrush - great that you can do it in Ahrefs! I really must check that out!

Roman,
Thanks, this is great info to have, but I'm looking to get the keywords for a particular URL, not an entire domain/sub-domain.
Nigel, I was able to get it to work in Ahrefs as Andrew said. I enter the entire URL into the main field, select "Exact URL", go to Organic search and then view the full organic keyword report.
Thanks,
Brian -
Hi Brian
If you try and do that it never works - it strips any subdirectory out. I have only ever been able to do it for the whole site.
I'd be interested if you do find a tool which works at page level!
Cheers
Nigel

Moz is a great tool, but in your case, Semrush and Ahrefs are better tools for what are you looking for.
- On Semrush > Domain Analytics > Overview > Top Organic Keywords > View Full Report
- On Ahrefs > Site Explorer > Organic Search > Organic Keywords
Hope this info will help you

Thanks so much. Andrew, I got the ahrefs trial and was able to get the top keywords for individual pages...perfect!
Nigel, I actually have an SEM Rush subscription and love it, use it every day and it would be great if I could do this with it. However, I'm not sure how I would go about setting up a report to give me the keyword rankings on an individual page. Would I have to set that page up as a new project?
Thanks!

Hi Brian
I don't know of any tool which gives you every keyword. SEMrush is great and it will give you a list of all keywords it has found using their Domain Analysis>Organic Research tool. They can run into 1000'2 of results but it is not exhaustive.
If you let me know (pm me) the URL I will run a report off for you from SEM. It shows the top 100 listings and gives you a full csv with position/search volume etc so you can see whether it's worth chasing after keywords.
Regards
Nigel

Want to change URL for a page
Hey there Mozzers. I want to change the url of a certain page on my website. Example: www.example.com/poker-face I want to change this www.example.com/poker-faces Should I create a new page and make the old one 301? Does 301 pass all the link juice in the new page or do i have to make a rel=canonical also ?

Are keyword focused pages actually hurting me?
Is the practice of having keyword focused pages a thing of the past? Here is what I am seeing. My biggest competitor ranks #1 or #2 in most of my relevant keyword phrases (about 20 that I consider most important). They DO NOT have keyword focused pages. They have a PA of 42.5 and a DA of 33.8. They have 72 root domains that link to them. Their home page is fairly lite for content. Only 1 paragraph of text really... and a few reviews local to their page (not TA or anything). Socially, we we have the same FB following... but I also have blog, G+, twitter, pinterest, flickr, instagram, youtube, and linkedin. My keyword pages will rank #8 or #9. My home page hardly ever ranks. My home page has a PA of 40.3 and a DA of 29.1. I have 60 root domains that link to me. BUT... my keyword pages fall much lower. For instance, one has a PA of 16.1 and only 1 root domain link. So, my question is... are my keyword pages actually hurting me? Meaning... is google seeing my keyword page as more relevant content wise (because they are perfect for keyword placement, % of keyword to text, etc), but they rank them lower because of PA and back-links? Should I take down my keyword focused pages (one at a time maybe???) and work on building my home page?

No confirmation page on Google's Disavow links tool?
I've been going through and doing some spring cleaning on some spammy links to my site. I used Google's Disavow links tool, but after I submit my text file, nothing happens. Should I be getting some sort of confirmation page? After I upload my file, I don't get any notifications telling me Google has received my file or anything like that. It just takes me back to this page: http://cl.ly/image/0S320q46321R/Image 2013-04-26 at 11.15.25 AM.png Am I doing something wrong or is this what everyone else is seeing too?

Indexed pages and current pages - Big difference?
Our website shows ~22k pages in the sitemap but ~56k are showing indexed on Google through the "site:" command. Firstly, how much attention should we paying to the discrepancy? If we should be worried what's the best way to find the cause of the difference? The domain canonical is set so can't really figure out if we've got a problem or not?

Use target keyword on several page titles or homepage only?
If I want my homepage to rank for a keyword (ie "red widgets"), does it support or dilute the homepage's rank if I use the keyword on other pages? I can see it working either way: The search engine looks at your site, sees that the target keyword is used throughout the site, and ranks the site higher as a result. Using the keyword on several pages makes it so none of them stand out, and ultimately it's harder to rank highly. Thoughts?
